My launch model Wii is finally dying, so I need to replace it anyway. Is it possible to port save files over? Certain games (such as Brawl) refuse to copy save data to an SD card, and I'm worried this means I'll lose everything.
Yeah. There's an app on the Wii you need to get to transfer to the WiiU. Then you just follow the instructions both consoles give you and then watch an army of pikmin carry all your Wii data over.
Be aware: it will MOVE your data, not merely copy it. Once it is moved over, your Wii will have no saves nor VC titles on it.
Also, said data will all be in the Wii emulator section of the WiiU. VC titles bought on the Wii Shop Channel don't transfer to the WiiU eShop, which means that said titles won't work with the WiiU controller.
Thanks for the replies, I am going to get a PlayStation 4, but only after they shut down the severs on 360, I just don't care about the Xbox One, all that crap in the beginning was a game breaker, and even thought they got rid of it I am not changing my mind.
That'll be the views of a lot of people, methinks.
I was pretty sure I'd get a PS4 over an XBone unless they priced it higher. And then Microsoft gave gamers the finger, and... well, it didn't exactly help.

I guess it is understandable that they don't work with the wii U controller, as they weren't programmed to. But losing it from your original console sucks. I like Back-ups! I suppose it doesn't really matter anyway. I'll just use the wii as a gamecube or something.
Oh, and I wasn't even thinking of getting an Xbox One. I hate the 360. Mainly The obligatory charging for online gaming. But that's now been adopted by the PSN for the PS4. But at least the PS4 is significantly cheaper, and the online gaming subscription gives you free games too.
I won't be getting either any time soon. I'm not a big shooter person, so the few games that aren't FPS/TPS that are actually worth playing are spread too thinly to justify either of them. That's why I love Nintendo consoles.
Also, Totally Spies is still going? I used to love that show as a kid. That and Kim Possible.
It ended with season 5 back in, I don't know, I guess 2012, but they decided to un-end it. Not un-cancel it, the show was never cancelled, they actually ended it, and then un-ended it.
Basically, a season 6 is coming, after which, season 3 of The Amazing Spiez.

Next gen I'll be going Playstation 4...
I might get an Xbox One eventually though...
I mean what if they announced Viva Pinata 3...
Or Blinx the Timesweeper 3...
The PS4 will need a PS+ account to be able to play online. But the plus side (see what I did there? I'm a comedy genius) is that PS+ is freakin' awesome.
In other news, my custom Mario Kart Wii compilation test (just replacing the first four cups) has successfully compiled! Woo! Now to get to work on the rest of the stuff. Let's see... what custom characters can I add...?
*IF* Nintendo buys Atlus, the best thing Nintendo could do is keep Atlus' publishing department, so that Atlus could still go multi-plat without having to attach the Nintendo label onto it.
I'm thinking about what I want for my birthday (25th August) so all I got is just an ITunes Gift Card, and a selection of DVDs from Horrible Histories (it's a show I watch, it's funny and educational) Series 1 - 4
I'm also thinking about Mario and Luigi Dream Team Bros, I'm stuck at the moment looking for some mountaineer (he looks like a potato) brother.
I'm going to be getting LONG overdue driving lessons for my birthday (August 18th, in case anyone wants to make a thread about it hint hint). One could also argue that the excess of games I seriously need to stop getting could be early birthday presents to myself, since driving lessons aren't very interesting.

If SEGA does the purchase then meh, don't care.
I would love the meltdowns either way. Gaf would go on suicide watch.
EDIT: I know I shouldn't keep harping on about this, but my Mario Kart project is going great. I've got almost all the tracks I wanted working (with the exception of one, and that's because it has to replace Rainbow Road, so it's easily fixed), I've got the custom names working and I've figured out how to replace the music (which I probably won't do for ages, but hey - I can!). Might even see if I can swap in a few new characters...
And best of all, I've figured out how I can distribute this as a ISO patch, so it's not out-and-out illegal. Not that I'd do so without the OK of the track-makers and such, but still, it's good to know this is do-able, y'know?
People are kneejerking and circlejerking against Obama hard over a stupid Department of Commerce study. And Comrade Pants goes to Reddit. Hilarious. I'm gonna trash him and he's not here. I love bullying!
Still, it's amazing the conviction Obama neglects to show now on citizen privacy versus during his Presidential candidacy.
Yes, I've been paying attention to something political today. Mostly because of meltdowns by all political parties alike over something so stupid.
Perhaps it's because I'm European and have no interest in foreign politics (or any sort of politics for that matter), but I didn't understand a lick of what you just said.
Fucking wonderful. I'm pretty sure my dog has fleas, and I'm pretty sure they've been biting me while I sleep. This is exactly the sort of thing I wanted to realize at 4:45 am when I need to go to sleep.
Aw man, sympathies. Fleas suck. Our cat keeps getting them, though they (thankfully) don't seem to bite me. Absolute pain in the arse to get rid of them.
I was under the impression that my legs got chewed by mosquitoes while I was doing yard work on Sunday. And lately I've been finding little black specks stuck in Max's fur. Just a little while ago, I saw Max scratching on my bed, and I looked closer and noticed some sort of bug on him. A little Googling and the conclusion is that yep, those are probably fleas, the black specks are flea dirt, and my legs are likely covered in flea bites.

Will have to look into this further. Or just give up. Either/or.
Ladies man, right here.
*waits patiently*

No idea if I should be glad or sad about that.

But he loves when you read to him.
Because we're awesome or something.
EDIT: Scratch that. If I were awesome, I probably wouldn't be sitting here watching a poorly acted shark mockumentary which I PVR'ed on Discovery.
As was I.
