    thomas was alone.

I got it the last time it was on sale, and I'm really tempted to start playing it, but I'm playing too many games as it is now.

I've been playing Spirits on and off and I want to finish it, but it's started getting boring quickly each time I play it.

I'm playing Age of Empires II, but I rarely have the energy to concentrate for long lately, so I've been putting it off.

I was playing Pid for a while and I thought it was pretty cool, but I got terribly stuck at a timing puzzle, even though I know what I'm supposed to do.

I've played up to chapter 4 of Waking Mars both on my phone and on Steam, but the areas are so big now, that it feels like a lot of work to progress, so it's not as good for smaller gaming sessions anymore.

Started playing Mark of the Ninja today. I've had it for a while, but didn't play it until today, since I thought it would take a fair share of time to get into. I was amazed at how well the controls work though. It's not near as stressful as I thought it would be and the checkpoints are plentiful, so it's just damn good fun.

I really should finish some games now though.

EDIT: Oh, and I'm playing Pullblox and Fallblox on the 3DS. They're a lot of fun and dirt cheap compared to retail 3DS games.

I am currently playing LEGO Lord of the Rings, and am completing fetch quests for some NPCs... one of whom says he used to be a Citadel Guard... but then he took an arrow to the knee.

Mass Effect 3. So far it seems pretty... empty. Not sure it's because of the cramped level design or because there's so few return characters at the beginning.

The mission list, however, is not empty at all. Unfortunately, I can't really remember getting half of these missions. And there doesn't seem a way to flag one as active so you know where to go and what you should be doing.

Giving Bioshock a go. Already learned the hard way, DON'T DROP THE KEYCARD.

    Currently playing Poker Night 2.

    1) I wish Bruce Campbell voiced Ash.

    2) This game is fun.

    3) I apparently really suck at Poker.

    1. I wish William Kasten voiced Max. Bruce Campbell could only be an improvement, but I haven't seen the movies yet (haven't gotten to the copies of 2 and Army of Darkness I'm borrowing), so it doesn't bother me as much that it's not him.

    2. This game is ridiculously fun.

    3. I'm apparently not half bad at poker as long as I can manage to be patient.

    4. The Steam version absolutely hates my computer, and while I'd like to get to it eventually for the TF2 items, I'm glad I also have an XBLA copy to play in the meantime. Plus the game probably looks much better on my Xbox than it would on my PC, because, well...

Just finished Day of the Tentacle it was a great game and I've been failing at Poker night 2...-Bright side I've unlocked the Sam and Max/Borderlands felts and themes
Bad side- I'm 220,000 dollars down and have failed to unlock a single Bounty prize because of Claptrap being too good at poker...

Playstation Plus service gave me a free digital copy of Thomas Was Alone.

That game is BORING. I find most puzzle games made nowadays quite boring probably because they are not aimed for the people who are good with them. It is like when Portal 2 explains the upcoming puzzle by breaking it to parts in the previous areas and thus not making it challenge to figure it out when actual full puzzle comes.

I don't know if it's because I upgraded my video card (I upgraded it to resolve issues with lag while playing LA Noire), but Poker Night 2 doesn't have issues with lag like Poker Night 1 did. When I got Poker Night 1, it was a stretch to try to even keep the mouse cursor from lagging.

Yes, Max's voice is different here, but isn't his nose also a different color? I don't know why they did that.

And I haven't seen any of the Evil Dead movies, but I have seen Bruce Campbell in movies/shows other than Evil Dead, and this voice is obviously not his.

Poker Night 2 plus a bit of FTL and trying to do an Evil run on Baldur's Gate Enhanced that doesn't result in the Flaming Fist jumping me every five minutes like it did in the original.

Also planning a Werewolf: The Apocalypse campaign, do pen and paper RPGs count?

Oh, I really wish I could play that now.

Then again, Max doesn't even get the Falco song right. :)

I just want that Banjo Sam!

PN2 runs a lot better on the same PC I used to play the first one 2 weeks ago.

It's an above average 2D puzzle platformer that's made shockingly compelling and staggeringly enjoyable by a fantastic plot told through a really quite captivating narrator.

It kind-of is in places, but the plot is what makes you want to keep playing. It's that compelling.

Have really got into Far Cry 3 over the last few days but I'm putting that aside to give BioShock Infinite a go as I've only got it for a short while.

    Costume Quest.

A very fun game so far.

Basically, it's Halloween, so you're in costume. Each different costume you acquire has different abilities. You have to save your sibling after he/she is kidnapped, and the gameplay basically consists of collecting candy, costumes and upgrades... and fighting monsters.

    I don't know why I hadn't played this earlier.

I find that game's best played at Halloween (of Christmas if playing the DLC). But yeah, it's awesome.

    FarCry 3: Blood Dragon
Most fun I had with a shooter in years.
Also the best game soundtrack since P0rtal.

Pretty good, actually. It's not very long - an hour or so - but it's well put together, entertaining and manages to hit a surprising amount of beats from the 2001 trailer. Plus, free, so...

The motorcycle does control a bit awkwardly though, so make sure you save at the beginning of the second level (and as you're headed up the ramp onto the motorway).

I gave the new Star Trek game a go and got stuck on - I shit you not - the very first Gorn enemy.

Not even kidding. Can't beat the git. Wasn't really having fun anyway, but that's all I needed.

So yeah, that's my verdict on the new Star Trek game - it's boring and has stupidly bad combat.
  • edited May 2013
Today was full of firsts! First time I ever played the Shadow Temple twice in one day and the first time I ever fought Twinrova immediately followed by Bongo Bongo.

I'm playing Ocarina of Time and Ocarina of Time 3D at the same time.

Costume Quest! It's really fun so far. I love the action command-based combat.

I played a lot of RPG's back in the PS2 era, but I hadn't found many that ran on a Mac, so there was a period of several years where I went totally RPG-less. Kinda bummed me out. But this game is great, very brightly colored and fun. Clever writing, too.

Wow. I didn't think it was THAT bad. Not great, but not terrible. About the only thing that kept it from being on par with the Ghostbusters game(as far as movie-based licensed games go) was that my experience with Star Trek had a LOT of glitches that pissed me off...and one that was funny in retrospect. Immortal red-shirt, gotta remember him for the next away mission.

You're a very crazy man. I admire that.

Playing Injustice still, having a crap-ton of fun with DLC character Batgirl. Seriously one of, if not my top, favorite character in this game. Doesn't hurt that I have a thing for red-heads. :p

Finished both Ocarina of Times a few days ago. Now I've been doing a minimal time travel Majora's Mask run. I've only played five cycles and only have three left to go. A couple nights ago, I beat Woodfall and Snowhead in the same three days. Last night, I finished up the three days where I did the Pirate's Fortress and Pinnacle Rock to get the New Wave Bossa Nova, while doing the Romani Ranch sidequest, while reforging my sword and getting the last four bottles. Up next: both Spider Houses, the Great Bay Temple, the Title Deed trading sequence, and the Gibdo Mask. After that, three days where I clear the Gibdo Well, the Ancient Castle of Ikana, and the Stone Tower Temple, all while completing Anju & Kafei. All that's left for the last three is cheering up the Mayor, staying awake for Grandma's stories, and fighting Majora.

Lunar Genesis on the DS, which has the distinction of being one of the most poorly-conceived RPGs I've ever played. The combat mechanics are ludicrous - you literally cannot target specific enemies, instead letting the game just pick one seemingly at random. On top of this, if you run while moving around maps you lose health, you have to pick between gaining experience or items you can sell for money whenever you enter combat, and the vast majority of the game is spent auto-battling while you do something else. Ugh.

FUCK THAT SHIT I JUST TRIED IT TODAY IT'S SO FRUSTRATING ARGH WHY DO I HAVE TO JUMP ON A PAPERTHIN THINGIE WHEN THE SPIDER KEEPS KNOCKING ME OFF ARGHHRGHHHGGHHHGGHGHGHRGHRHGRHGHRHGHGRG HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO FIND ALL OF THESE THINGS I HATE SPIDERS ARGHHRGHHHGGHHHGGHGHGHRGHRHGRHGHRHGHGRG is what I'd say if Call of Duty is more my speed.

I actually just realized I probably can't properly tackle it right now and I'll just come back later. Majora's Mask isn't as daunting as people think it is. Finding Woodfall is kind of a bitch. I have a guide but I refuse to use it.

Also why THE HELL isn't Guru finishing The Last Crusade!? Or playing Banjo-Kazooie and Tooie and DK64 and Jet Force Gemini and Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga at the same time ARGHHRGHHHGGHHHGGHGHGHRGHRHGRHGHRHGHGRG

I'll be doing the Spider Houses tomorrow. I'd do it tonight, but I have to get up early tomorrow, and I'm exhausted from three nights of not sleeping well.

You know why I won't play Superstar Saga right now. And I haven't felt like putting myself through The Last Crusade. Also, stop telling me to play games I don't own! I have enough shit that I already own to get through.

I'm glad to say (after about an hour messing with the .ini files and downloading useful mods) I have finally began to play KoTor 2 with the restored content mod

Great game but very Incomplete and the steam version is very broken

But after installing the mod and fiddling with the files both of those problems should be solved...
