Let me ask you, if you don't mind, how do you feel when homosexuals hit on you?
The reason I ask, cause there are some who take it as a compliment.
I personally, have never been able to view it as such.
Well I can't say that I've ever been hit on by anybody, gay or straight. But I've been made fun of because people at school thought I was gay. Why? Because I'm not trying to fuck every girl at school. It didn't even compare to what some gay people go through daily.
I advise that you watch this film, and understand what gays go through. I'm not interested in sex, or having kids or even getting married. If a gay person hit on me, I'd honestly be flattered as well as a bit uncomfortable, because I grew up in a society that treats homosexuality as "not normal". But I'd be flattered if anyone liked me in that way because I'm the kind of person who has little to no chance of getting liked by a girl. So if a gay person hits on you, try and think of it as "Well this person likes me, awesome!"

The Bible does say not to judge.
However, it does set clear boundaries as to what type of behavior is acceptable, and what isn't.

To be fair my personal remarks were more about illustrating why it would probably be best for me to stop due to my own personal prejudices, … morelike I've mentioned while I've met some good folk who are Christian most Christian people I've met were complete assholes, though to be fair most people I've met are complete assholes regardless of religious beliefs so whatever, anyway I was more trying to explain my state of mind than insult you but I kind off assumed it would come across that way regardless so it's still my fault for saying it, to be fair though you being judgemental of homosexuals is hypocritical anyway so if we're meant to take what the Bible says literally then doesn't the Bible teach not to judge? See this is exactly the kind of thing I mean, there are a lot of contradictions in the Bible, probably a result of the editing and translations but also because it was written by different people in different times, if they were to add new… [view original content]
The thing about the Bible though is that it was written in different languages (the old testament was written in Aramaic and the new testament was written in Greek) and when it was translated into English, there were many different variations of the text, and they all were quite liberal with the translations.
For example, one of the most quoted passages against homosexuality, in the King James translation is: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? The part people use against homosexuality is the word effeminate. The original Greek word used here was malakos, which means soft. Changing soft to effeminate is a stretch, since it doesn't work for half of the world's population. It makes no sense to say that women who act effeminate will not inherit the kingdom of God. If a translation doesn't work for everyone it is addressing, then surely the translation must be incorrect. In context, soft makes much more sense, as in people who are soft in their convictions will not inherit the kingdom of God.
Human language is very much open to interpretation, and that language has been interpreted for far too long to discriminate. Any passage in any religious tome can be interpreted in a much more open way.

For people who do not like homosexuals:
You don't need to like they, but you can respect they. I have two homosexual friends, and they are behaved when they are with me! Be homosexual don't mean you are effeminate. Being homophobes is wrong, don't matter what say in bible.
In the Bible Jesus forgives sluts and prostitutes, In bible, incest is a normal thing, these days you find people who practice bestiality around and say they are Christians.
People today are hypocrites. Believe me, Brazil ( and others countrys ) is worst about this than EUA, you guys have lucky.

With all due respect, even if I were to watch the video, it would not change my mind how I feel about homosexuality, and those who practice … moreit.
As long as the Bible continues to condemn homosexuality, I will continue to hold to that viewpoint.
And that is my personal right, and under the 1st amendment of the constitution, I'm allowed to express my belief.
And when you think about it, I myself am not condemning homosexuality.
Rather, God; through his word The Bible, does.
And I agree with what he says on the subject.
So in reality, and I say this respectfully, your disagreement is not with your fellow man, but rather with almighty God himself.
That guy is really funny, I say something harmless and positive like "girls like books" and he instantly labels me as a sexist asshole but he can freely say that all homosexuals have a self esteem as low as his when it's nowhere near true.
Caesar martinzez a couple of days ago literally posted the comment 'I hate gay people.'
Disapproving of it IS homophobia, as disapproving of black people is racism ,as disapprvoing of women is sexism.

Lastly if your that keen about this why bring it up repeatedly on a primarily left wing gaming forum? OP
To our resident homophobes.
Have to say I haven't seen one person who is like that on here, maybe a few religious people wh… moreo maybe disprove of it but not literal attacks or abuse and nothing at all has been said unless someone else brought up the issue first. I dont believe in forcing someone to change there opinion because another is offended, that's bullying. Provided people aren't actually making statements unprovoked and for no reason or actually hurting people intentionally I think people should be allowed to hold their own opinions. I personally have no issue with whatever you want to be
this is how it feels.

Well I honestly believe that the Bible is true in every sense.
I believe wholeheartedly what it says.
For example, I do not believe in t… morehese gospels that are all of a sudden appearing, like the gospel of Judas, the gospel of Magdalene, the gospel of Philip, and the gospel of Peter, that allegedly contain secrets about Jesus's childhood, adult life, and ministry.
I firmly believe that there are only 4 true Gospels: the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John.
And that these other alleged gospels are in fact lies.
I also do not believe in say, "the book of Enoch."
I firmly believe that the information contained in the Bible in Genesis about the pre-flood world, is accurate and completely true, and that "the book of Enoch," is a fable.
These are my personal beliefs, and I hold to them.
The thing about the Bible though is that it was written in different languages (the old testament was written in Aramaic and the new testame… morent was written in Greek) and when it was translated into English, there were many different variations of the text, and they all were quite liberal with the translations.

I also would like to hear what Flog has to say, particularly to my comments.
And as far as keeping my post respectful, and I say this modes… moretly, that that is something I always endeavor to do.
The way I see it, you can make your point, without resorting to offensive behavior.
However, just because I strive to be tactful, does not mean I will water-down the truth, of whatever matter is at hand.
Diplomacy is great.
But there are times when the situation calls for directness and boldness.
Hahaha that's what they want you to believe. Being homosexual is a choice. Example: Last month on Jerry Springer show there was this girl wh… moreo had a crush on her friend who she met at the bar. Her friend was straight, but when she came on the Springer show the girl asked if she wanted to go all the way. Her friend was nervous because she never been with a girl before and a few minutes late she said yes. So the gay friend converted her friend to her lesbian lifestyle lol. There's homosexuals converting straight people on that show everyday, so it is a choice. Most grew up with the lie that it's not a choice but it is. Only hermaphrodites have that right to say it wasn't a choice they have both genitals and born that way. Society promoted the gay lifestyle and over time people adapted to it. Just like the cave people learned how to draw, make fire, and build homes. They had a choice to educated themselves and weren't born that way. They adapted … [view original content]

Also again so you want to force people to think a certain way? thats bullying especially as again why should that one person at all bother you? there a random idiot if they hate gay people purely due to there sexuality. However if they want to thats there call.
Disapproving of it IS homophobia, as disapproving of black people is racism ,as disapprvoing of women is sexism.
In a minor sense, And again it shouldn't bother you, its someone saying a post on a board not kidnapping and burning you (like in said video). If it does bother you so much why? Not a reference to something else thats happened but just that one comment why does that cause you such concern. How is it hurting you? just ignore them and again it shouldnt really ever come up unless you start talking about it in the first place..

It's like....you get the same thing on y… moreoutube; the video has an absurd number of likes and then the comments are incredibly negative.
Makes the vocal minority concept more likely, if anything. Or people are afraid to express their opinion, which I understand completely.
Tinni told me that homosexuality is immoral, numerous people on this thread have expressed that sentiment...enough people for me to make one thread about, I think.
No, I'm not forcing anyone to think a different way. But by debating we can achieve a society in which less harm is done.
Bullying? Really? Do you think it'd be bullying to argue with a racist about why they think black people are inferior? How would that be different, when homosexuality and race aren't a choice, as shown by science?
Yes, I'm not pretending that I'm being hunted. But people saying this shit makes people feel crap, and when posting a thread about it takes 2 minutes and could change some people's opinions, I don't think it's pointless to try.
It bothers me because people thinking I'm abhorrent when I can't change it sucks.

To people on this thread saying you disapprove of homosexuality: yes you are a homophobe. That's the definition.
To the people telling me not to care what other people think: good advice. That's totally easy, to ignore being told you're evil.
Anyway, I shall try to care less about humanity.
Hence this video expresses my sentiment rather eloquently. (Shan't be replying any more, as I'm beginning to realise that I won't singlehandedly change the opinions of religious extremists, and that society is doing so for me, with the religions dying out).
Anyway, I think that's where we fundamentally disagree. Y'see, I think if someone is racist or sexist we shoudl try to change their mind, not just say 'it's fine as long as you don't physically attack black people'.
Who in this thread is homophobic?, there's two religious people who disprove at most and thats only because you asked....
And honestly wh… moreile I disagree with them I respect there opinion as long as they dont hurt anyone or abuse them because of it.....
But people saying this shit makes people feel crap, and when posting a thread about it takes 2 minutes and could change some people's opinions, I don't think it's pointless to try.
but there is a huge difference between a word or two either said out of context or people saying they disprove of something and outright abuse etc.. Dont you realise you make people feel like crap by insinuating they are facists when they simply have an opinion. People can have opinions and be honest, I'd rather people just say it than pretend, there is nothing worse, people differ and most dont have any issues with it apart from extremists.
You cant change it no however you can change your attitude to how it affects you as a person, most people dont care about the odd person or the odd comment, honestly I have to say this one offhand comment should not "hurt" you, annoy perhaps but if it hurts I dont know.... Overall as I said as a whole society no longer cares.
This is again a right wing forum.
Its really not, seriously people call out people who mention the word "retarded" for example when its used out of context etc, if anything its left wing or at least not either way.
Again i get your passionate about this but it isnt the place. And repeatedly brining it up just trivialises the cause.

Bye.
Here's where i come and call you a hillbilly, The word phobia also carries the connotation of aversion so it means aversion to homosexuals which means you have an aversion to an human being making you an asshole.
I agree.
The word "Homophobia," is actually a misnomer.
The word "phobia," is Greek in origin, and it carries the connotation of being af… moreraid of something.
Now you have stated in layman's terms, that you don't approve of homosexuality, and that you find it disgusting.
Finding something to be disgusting, is completely different than being afraid of it, as the word "disgust" carries the connotation of repulsion.
So you are completely correct in defending your stance as non-homophobic.
And I to defend your stance, and take the same stance myself.
Well I can't say that I've ever been hit on by anybody, gay or straight. But I've been made fun of because people at school thought I was ga… morey. Why? Because I'm not trying to fuck every girl at school. It didn't even compare to what some gay people go through daily.

Bye.
Another scripture that is also used, is Romans chapter 1.
In there, Paul describes homosexuality as "Obscene."
And in verse 28, in the King James Bible it states: "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do the things that are not convenient."
Now the word "reprobate," according to Webster, means: "Depraved."
And the word "Convenient," according to Webster means: "Suitable, Proper."
And the word: "Retain," or, "Remember," would carry the connotation that in order to remember something or someone, you are thus acknowledging "it's," existence, or "their" existence; as well as any statements that person makes.
And the word "Mind," is obviously related to thought process and pattern.
So that scripture, in modern English would read: "And even as they did not like to acknowledge God, God gave them over to depraved thinking, to do things that are not proper."
The thing about the Bible though is that it was written in different languages (the old testament was written in Aramaic and the new testame… morent was written in Greek) and when it was translated into English, there were many different variations of the text, and they all were quite liberal with the translations.

I know so many homosexuals that never feel this way, probably because they don't give a shit what others think.

I saw "nor effeminate" and I thought 'wow, that's pretty damning...'
Then I saw "nor abusers of themselves," and now I know I'm going to hell...
So the one thing I ask the dignity of you doing is to watch the video..and you don't.
Right.
That's not what homophobia is.
homophobia
ˌhɒməˈfəʊbɪə,ˌhəʊmə-/Submit
noun
dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people.
Yes, you are a homophobe.
I wonder how many times I shall have to post this definition.
homophobia
ˌhɒməˈfəʊbɪə,ˌhəʊm
noun
dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people.
Excuse me, that's not at all what I'm saying
Caesar martinzez a couple of days ago literally posted the comment 'I hate gay people.'
Disapproving of it IS homophobia, as disapproving of black people is racism ,as disapprvoing of women is sexism.
....did you not read my post? The video is intended to be symbolism.
The box is homosexual love, the people chasing them and dragging it and burning it are people saying 'homosexuality is immoral'.
...this is very much a right wing gaming forum. Look at the comments on the thread, for one thing.
You're either lying or you haven't read the entire bible. because I have read the entire bible.
What brand of clothing do you wear?
Did you know that it is an affront to god to wear clothing made of more than one fabric? So the elastic band in your underwear? A sin.
haha what?! They're basing it off the word malakos??
I have studied ancient greek for 8 years, and malakos NEVER means effeminate. It means soft. That's it.
http://www.perseus.tufts.edu/hopper/morph?l=malakos&la=greek
I think not watching the video when it is the entire basis of the thread and then commenting with your opinion of my sentiment is rather rude.
Yes it is.
homophobia
ˌhɒməˈfəʊbɪə,ˌhəʊmə-/Submit
noun
dislike of or prejudice against homosexual people.
It's funny because lots of the people commenting are homophobic, and yet the thread has 9 likes.
It's like....you get the same thing on youtube; the video has an absurd number of likes and then the comments are incredibly negative.
Makes the vocal minority concept more likely, if anything. Or people are afraid to express their opinion, which I understand completely.
...surely it is the problem of the people doing horrible things to them, and not the gay person's fault for not being able to ignore it?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victim_blaming
The problem is not that gay people are upset when people call them defects or unholy.
The problem is that people do that in the first place.
Science has shown that it isn't a choice. If you're not willing to listen to science..then why would you even engage in discussion?
Gaming forums are some of the most vitriolic places on the world.
Religious debates are how we show people that they shouldn't judge others in the first place.
One person......
Also again so you want to force people to think a certain way? thats bullying especially as again why should that one person at all bother you? there a random idiot if they hate gay people purely due to there sexuality. However if they want to thats there call.
Playing the victim over crap like this trvivalises real abuse that happens
Also again this isnt the place, its a left wing gaming forum, constantly brining up these issues is irritating and it derails things.
Who in this thread is homophobic?, there's two religious people who disprove at most and thats only because you asked....
And honestly while I disagree with them I respect there opinion as long as they dont hurt anyone or abuse them because of it.....
The video is symbolism.
It hurts me because it's an insult based on something I can't change.
Do you think black people are playing the victim if someone calls them the N word and they get annoyed?
This is again a right wing forum.
So yeah, basically:

Bye.
I didn't ask?
Anyway, I think that's where we fundamentally disagree. Y'see, I think if someone is racist or sexist we shoudl try to change their mind, not just say 'it's fine as long as you don't physically attack black people'.
how dare these kinds of people be here and talk about games how dare they
but there is a huge difference between a word or two either said out of context or people saying they disprove of something and outright abuse etc..
Its really not, seriously people call out people who mention the word "retarded" for example when its used out of context etc, if anything its left wing or at least not either way.
Again i get your passionate about this but it isnt the place. And repeatedly brining it up just trivialises the cause.
Throwing a tantrum and leaving isnt the answer its the whole reason this keeps going in circles is because people go back to just insulting the other party and demanding they're right with no compromise
I'm sorry Flog because you seem like a good guy, but why are you always bringing this up?
Here's where i come and call you a hillbilly, The word phobia also carries the connotation of aversion so it means aversion to homosexuals which means you have an aversion to an human being making you an asshole.
I agree with Charlie, he is a good guy.
Becuz nu idea
That video..;_;
That's false .And you know it lady.I'm no homophobe.
That kind of attitude is part of the problem.
