Great work Telltales, worth the money. I look forward to the remaining episodes. Thanks!!!!

Great start to the series, loved the references, the puzzles, the humor, the wit and everything else that Monkey Island offered before... if this keeps up, I don't care what the lead developer says about this not being canon, this is MUCH better than CoMI and miles better than Escape.

Just finished it... Didn't want to finish it in only one day because there's such a long time to wait now but I just couldn't stop myself ^^
I also think that it's a bit too easy but if that changes over the episodes I'll be perfectly fine...
I like the story/atmosphere/humour/graphics/new characters... a well... I think I just like everything about this TRUE MONKEY ISLAND adventure...
Can't wait to see the next episode...
By the way... if I had to guess I would say that the woman at the end of Episode 1 is Carla the swordmaster of Melee Island.

Couldn't make a better guess myself

Just finished the game. Bravo Telltale, Bravo! This game is awesome!

Okay, first off, this was my first ever Monkey Island, so I wasn't sure what to expect. But I was very pleasantly surprised. The game was great! It had some of the best puzzles in Telltale's history, especially the
    Doctor's Office
, which as I already said, is my favorite puzzle in Telltale history. The graphics were also great. I had to play on Level 1, but they still looked great.

    Amazing work, Telltale!

Just played it and finished it. Of course since it was an episode it was short and I can't wait until the others come out. The way of moving him around by clicking and dragging the mouse was a bit difficult for me so I just opted for using the w,a,s,d keys and the mouse which was much easier. It wasn't a traditional point and click game if I played it that way but I don't care. The music was great, and the art was even better. It's definitely worthy of playing again. Oh, and the cursor at the start was going a little slow, fixed it with settings and lowering the graphics quality to about 1 or 2

I hope it's Carla the swordmaster. I really like her character and think it's a shame the only time we see her is MI1 and MI4

WOW! Just finished it, yay! And I am NOT dissapointed; from the very beginning I got back that good feeling of swashbuckling adventure :D And the humor is just as good as ever. "I don't think a U Tube will be useful here" :D LOL!

    Got really stuck in the
doctor's office for a while; thought that if i kept feeding the monkey bananas, he'd eventually grow fond of me and fetch the key
    :o

Can't wait for episode 2 to be out! Any news on when that will be?

    Just finished, too!
I played the whole evening TOMI. Very good.
The LA logo after years in an adventure game.

Well LucsaArts games are genius but I think the TTGs are more funny! :D Guybrushs hand was funny. :D

People copyright all kinds of things. Did you know the traditional "Happy Birthday" song is copyrighted?

So there was this tough decision I had to make today:

    * Install and play Launch of the Screaming Narwhal

    or

    * Install Steinberg Cubase 5, Native Instruments Komplete 5, hook up a KORE 2 controller and my MIDI keyboard and play with that stuff

As you can guess, the ~9 USD game won out over the ~1000 EUR other stuff... and it was so worth it... :D

I have to say - the game is simply brilliant! I love the control, I love the jokes, I love the dialogues, I love the puzzles! Couldn't stop playing it until I played it to the end (no hints of course :). Now I can go satisfied to the bed. Thank you, telltale. :)

    what about wii release
  • edited July 2009
Thanks for giving us a real MI game, at first I was a bit sceptical cause EFMI has destroyed the franchise for me with ugly GFX and a control scheme that almost caused me to destroy my keyboard, but you guys made a great new entry in MI, great atmodsphere and humor, just THX.

    Because it's funny.

I must say, yesterday was fun. It was like waiting in line for a Disneyland attraction that kept breaking down. Oh, but finally getting on that ride was the best thing ever.

Oh, snap. I was looking forward to play on my netbook but it seems that it does not work. I assume it's GPU issue because it starts, I get black block that I assume is game screen. It's not even centered. And here it stops, process turns into zombie and I have to kill it.

Well, maybe it's related to DirectX. I think I have to put my PC back together to enjoy some of the goodness. If someone was able to start TMI on standard netbook hardware (1GiB/1.6Ghz/Intel GPU) I'd love to hear from him!
  • edited July 2009
TMI requires a 2.0Ghz processor (the other TT games require 1.5). It's why I can't play it on my laptop, but I can run it on another PC in my house (lucky for me).

aaarghhhh....finished it :(...and i want moooreee! can i really wait a month? i dont know! but great game guys! you captured the monkey island mood really well...some minor gripes:
i think right clicking for inventory would be better and less cumbersome! and if we could get a look button it would be awesome because guybrushes observations on things were half the hilarity! i know i can look at things by clicking on them (if i cant pick it up), or in the inventory (with the magnifying glass) but what about people and such? over all i give it 9/10
  • edited July 2009
    also, loved guybrushes expressions!

    Amazing game! Really good job!
From the music, the animation, the puzzles, the characters, the length (which was really impressive for a single chapter) and of course - the number of items (which was a lot better than some of sam&max's chapters, which had like 8 items at all...)
And the story of course, which really gives the feeling Monkey Island series should have!
Please keep up the good work.

Pants finished it already, have to wait another month now :(

    No.

This isn't the thread for game hints.

There's an entire thread about that puzzle in the Hints Forum.

    i finished it yesterday....
and i have to say...it was great.....i realy love it...but i have to say 2 things:

*more stupid guybrush dialog...like it has been mentioned befor, you sometimes have the option to say 3 things but whatever you chose he says the same.....

*this is a Monkey Island game you working on, so dont make the following gmaes too easy, the difficulty was ok for part 1, but you have to make the game harder...you got the hint funktion, so there always will be a way to finish the game, make the game extrem Monkey^^

    oh btw
why did you close the Privat Pirate Club? i hoped it will stay open till the last episode is released....
