Eh, just don't get the appeal. Blaze always rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. Oh yeah: he's a white performer, using the persona of a black gangbanger for the amusement of an overwhelmingly white audience.
I'm not familiar with his discography, but the outward resemblance to blackface is a bit too uncomfortable to ignore.
I feel like a lot of Juggalo rappers get a bad rep. The thing is though, rappers like Blaze and R.O.C. are truly a force to reckoned with. E… moreven if there are some less than favorable rappers that also belong to the label.

This I understand, I remember thinking he was black for the longest time because of his constant use of the term "nigga" in his music (something he's since stopped doing cause it is a bit weird). So when I found out he was white as bird shit, it flipped my perception a bit.

I'm gonna be honest I like most "Juggalo" rappers, but I just can't get into Blaze's solo songs except for a few, I don't know why. But I do love alot of his songs he does with Dark Lotus, Drive-by, and Twiztid.

Here's a question. What's your favorite beat/instrumental in a rap song?
Mine might come as a bit of a surprise. It's the song "Comfortable" off Lil Wayne's Carter III. I don't know why exactly, but the strings and drums just go together perfectly. It's smooth, fun and classy. Kanye West produced it and it's easily one of his best beats to date. I posted the instrumental version of the song; Lil Wayne's verses are serviceable but they don't really add much to the experience.
I can't decide, there's just too much great tracks that I enjoy for me to adequately pinpoint one. But I can tell you that Wicked by Ice Cube is so fucking dope.

This song piqued my interest for two reasons. 1.) The beat and 2.) the big name guest verses by Jay Z and Doctor Fucking Dre. After giving it a listen, I can safely say that 3 Kings is one of the most comically stupid songs I've ever heard.
The beat : I'm not sure where the sample comes from, but the beat is pure opulence in musical form and is a perfect match for riches and bitches like these three. 5/5
The lyrics : Abysmal. Rick Ross has a terrible record of getting bodied by his own guests (ex. Drake on Aston Martin Music), but in this song, Dre and Jay are so bad that Rick Ross sounds like Nas by comparison. Dre spends his (obviously ghostwritten) verse trying to sell me headphones, while Jay sounds completely lost. It's a freestyle and has all the worst qualities thereof. 1/5
Overall, I give it a 3/5. On a side note, I'm quite surprised Ross didn't catch heat for the title. He's basically calling himself a king, comparable to the likes of Jay and Dre. Pfffft.
The problem with it is that they don't sound confident. They sound unsure and they rest to much on a previous line, making it that much more obvious they don't know what the hell they're saying. And them saying the same words twice, "fat and fat don't rhyme Ross, sorry."
So although the beat is smooth, it's ruined by the shitty rhymes. It no joke sounds like they're trying and failing to freestyle.

Funny enough, I originally heard that Wicked song as a cover from Korn's sophomore album Life Is Peachy featuring one of my personal favorite vocalists, Chino Moreno from Deftones leading, and found it intoxicating...
Well, I can confirm that Jay-Z's verse was a "freestyle". I'm also pretty sure Rick Ross wrote Dr. Dre's verse, because it sounds like a Rick Ross verse. A good ghostwriter writes in the client's "voice" (ex. Nas writing Will Smith's 'Gettin' Jiggy With It.') Rozay utterly failed to do that.
In short, the beat sounds like 3 Kings. The lyrics sound like 3 Bozos.

I've never been a fan of Rick Rubin (beard guy), but this beat is pretty good. There's still a couple problems, like the weird BITCH! after some of the punchlines and THE GODDAMN SINGING. But overall, I thought Bezerk was a pretty good song!
Vince Staples' new album just came out yesterday (June 30) and I have to rank it as one of the better albums of the year so far.
https://… morewww.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=fuOuPzmZ3Co
And this is far from the best track off this album, it's just the one I'm listening to now and really appreciate the subdued tone.
The majority of the album has such a haunting tone that is very reminiscent of Doris, but songs like Norf Norf and Summertime are especially somber and reserved, projecting a very minimalist sonic tone.
But what makes the album so intoxicating is that Vince sounds hungry as fuck and keeps his bars very sharp creating a great clash. Vince is for sure going places if he keeps this level of dope production and rhymes up.
Speaking of going places, B4.DA.$$ did really well for an underground, independent album. I've always liked Joey's style; his Jamaican upbringing seeps into his flow and delivery, if that makes any sense. Plus DJ fucking Premier produced a lot of these tracks too.
It's been almost a year, but I've finally switched up my Gravatar. To commemorate this monumentous occasion, let's get some 36 Chambers up in this bitch!
I miss old school Wu. They weren't so concerned with acting hard, they just were. Plus they just threw some of the nerdiest, random shit in their songs.
It's all subjective, but I've never liked Hit Em' Up, or that kind of diss track. It seems more like a temper tantrum than a lyrical marking, with all the threats of violence and such. Unbridled anger can be effective, but the real career-enders attack **credibility* more than anything else.
I submit an example of this theory in practice. Dollars + Sense by DJ Quik. It's three minutes of pure humiliation. I'm embarrassed for the guy and I barely know who he is. The end result? MC Eiht was laughed off the LA rap scene and DJ Quik became quite wealthy and successful (not Dr Dre money, but enough to live well).
Other excellent examples : Takeover by Jay-Z, Back Down by 50 Cent. I find diss records interesting on the whole, so I may post video if I remember anything good.
One of the best diss tracks out there.

If you can raise me, I'd love to know if there is another really good diss track.
I like D12, but Royce is an MC that can rival Eminem. One of my favorite tracks from Slim Shady LP is Bad Meets Evil, cause although both were strong, even Em couldn't rival Royce's bars.
"I'm bad enough to commit suicide and survive long enough to kill my soul after I'm dead" is still one of my favorite lines of any rap song.
Also, I know you had said you didn't like diss tracks like "Hit 'Em Up" because they seemed like temper tantrums. But this song shares a lot of similarities with those kinds of disses. Not saying I dislike it.
Time for another diss track. This time, the artist is Royce Da 5'9" and the victims are D12 (with Enimem taking a couple barbs as well).
… more This is a hilariously vicious track. Royce absolutely SAVAGES Bizarre. Those have to be some of the most mean-spirited bars I've heard.
"Ya'll niggas is ninja turtles." I love it! XD
https://youtube.com/watch?v=CRD8Gfk43Io
True, but Hit Em' Up seemed more like 80 / 20 "I'm going to kill you!" vs. "You're a loser!" This song is more 50/50. It's angry, but the wordplay is smart and snappy. Also, it doesn't include the Outlaws, which is always a plus.

Although at the time of the diss, Tupac had just been attacked and shot by assailants of Biggie. So the emotion he was feeling was fueled by pure anger.

Understandable, but I thought Jimmy Henchmam (a west coast manager/dealer) was eventually implicated for ordering the hit, rather than anyone in Bad Boy. Though in all fairness, Pac wouldn't have known at the time.
Fair enough.

A rap song very close to my metal heart, considering the gimmick used is that the majority of lyrics are names of various hard-rock and metal acts, albums or songs off of esteemed rock albums.
For example name dropping Black Sabbath, Obituary, Powerslave, Youth of Today, Sick Of It All, and other hard-rock acts. As well, him name dropping shit like The Regulator and Fearless Vampire Killers (two tracks off of Bad Brains' debut album), From Enslavement to Obliteration (being Napalm Death's second album) and overall the great rock track that plays is awesome.

I personally love it and find my inner metal-nerd comes right out and sings along. It is one of the more gimmicky filler tracks though (as evident by the fact it's just under 2 and a half minutes).
And apparently, Ill Bill is also a huge metal-head because another song off of the album is literally titled Unauthorized Biography of Slayer in which he raps about Slayer for 2 and a half minutes... I love it.
