NDAs/Press Embargoes aren't terrifying, mostly because on certain website frameworks you can write up your story and then set it to release automatically at x:xx o'clock. It can be annoying when you have a game and have to scout for people to have information. Even if there was no embargo I wouldn't be able to find anyone to play with :P

I meant terrifying more in the sense that most of us take it for granted that we can get on the internet and talk to anyone about anything at any time, so the thought of knowing something and not being able to freely discuss it is a bit claustrophobic. Though maybe it's more scary in theory than in practice.
  • edited December 2009
Yeah it's not too bad, though you do feel that way with threads like "Who do you play at the beginning of ToMI5?" makes you want to scream
"..." (you thought I was going to say it, didn't you :P)
  • edited December 2009
You really could've been a jerk and spoiler tagged it to make it look like you said who.
  • edited December 2009
What? You mean like it is now? :P
  • edited December 2009
    Yep, exactly like that.

I can remember Haggis an episode or two back saying his fingers were very sore from typing up the review so quickly on the day of release. 3 hours, so long as you're not at the beginning, should be ok if you're quick-witted. Hell, if you're naughty, you could plat 3/4 of it and write the review as if you'd played the whole thing. It's not as if a review is supposed to reveal the ending, after all.

Be ware that the first game is impossible unless you know about fairy tales and folklore, I consider this a major weakness to the game. :rolleyes:It's not all about puzzles, alot of the puzzles are external and disconnected from the game. Make sure you know all about fairy tales before you play, I dread that about the game.

I hope the second isn't as stupid.

I'm pretty decent when it comes to fairy tales, and I'm at the end of the first game.

    @tbm1986

Maybe, but as a reviewer it's always better to play the game fully so you'll have a better understanding of how it all works, etc.

You can always send me a PM and I can get you out of a jam. Or email the PR address, but either way it usually ends back at me.

Woot just got my copy of Rise of the Pirate God a few hours ago, and I'm already stuck, and there's no walkthrough till the game's out, and I have a review to write.

    /rant
    /sigh

PM me if you're still stuck. I beat the game this morning.

You know, the very end (post-credits) scene is missing in the press copies. So we really don't know, haha. I'm eager to see it myself.

Right...I doubt that the ending will be a cliffhanger then...Aaah, can't wait!
Just tell me / us one thing: Does chapter 5 beat chapter 4 in terms of epic quality? :D

No, Telltale told us there will be something there in the proper release. What I'm saying is that press hasn't even seen the very end yet.

I wonder if TTG did that because the final scene wasn't ready, or because they wanted to keep it back for the general release? I think it was probably the latter.

Yeah, they probably did it because the end is sooo awesome the press people would forget about their embargo and just blab it out to us.

Such a device already exists, it's called alcohol and comes packaged in nice little cans och bottles. The only drawback is that the time jumps are not very exact and there is a chance you might loose your pants or other valuebles during the ride.
