Probably I'm the only one happy for this but

    TRAINING MODE!
  • edited June 2010
Wow, they added an actual training mode? I'm interested to see how that works. I really enjoy the tr_walkway training map, so hopefully this will be similar or even better.

I haven't had a chance to really have fun with TF2 yet. Don't know anybody to play with.

Join the Telltale TF2 group on Steam! We'll play with you! :D

My inner fail!Spy has been waiting for this since I bought the game a year ago.

Speaking of Spy, I picked up an almost perfect Dead Ringer for my BLU Spy costume today.

Unfortunately, the suit still eludes me.

I wonder if there's any chance of BTTF and JP TF2 items. ^_^

...Probably not. I'd use them though.
  • edited June 2010
I can't think of anything distinctive from those movies that would make good TF2 weapons. Hats might be a possibility, though. But I think that the Sam & Max deal was a special thing that's not likely to happen again anytime soon.

Especially not after the Gurargh Telltale is evil response from last time. D: Yeah you're right though, but I could see the hoverboard or just a skateboard making a great weapon. For JP a raptor mask.

Ugh, I just tried training mode. So far all that's available is target practice for the Soldier. There's also an offline practice mode with four servers, but I was randomly given the option to try it and haven't been able to figure out how to access it again.

I think one of the little icon inside the "start a game" option or whatever it's called. Ah yeah, I was disapointed with training, I've been trying to get into Huntsman Sniper lately (I know everyone seems the hate the huntsman but I find it kinda fun) and I was hoping it could help me practice with that. Never mind eh?

You may want to look into the tr_walkway map. It's a fan map made just for training and has a ton of options. It's not perfect, but it's a lot of fun. Here's more info on it.

Say do those people count as steam friends for achievements. Like the backstab 10 friends, or play in a group with 10 friends on it and stuff like that.

only if you have them on your friendslist.

Ugh thought that might worrk there.
EDIT:just for the heck of it how many achievements do you guys have.
I have 13, should have 14 but one of the spy achievements was TOO specific on requirements. The one on backstabbing an enemy and his medic, i backstabbed the enemy and stabbed to death the medic but I guess that doesnt count.

For some reason when I play my stats barely update. I've played way more time as all classes except Soldier and Demo.

    To the guy above me:
No you need to backstab both. I have that one and almost all spy achievments. I can't do the flicking the cig one though.
  • edited June 2010
I have 23 and I just started yesterday.
I'ma have a lot of trouble with the medic+Heavy one, I can only backstab like one person at a time

You dont have to backstab them with the same backstab
Come to think of it wouldent it be possible to get the medic heavy one and the medic any enemy one at the same time.

If you need help with any of the achievements let me know. I've done most of them for just about all classes.

And is that 23 total achivements or 23 spy ones?
  • edited June 2010
23 total, now 25. I have like 5 spy ones

This is through normal play; I don't aggressively pursue achievements (except to unlock the milestone weapons).

Obviously, either you play entirely too much or I'm not playing nearly enough. I like to think that the truth is somewhere between the two. I haven't touched TF2 in months except for costume references, and anymore I just use the Source SDK model viewer for most of that.

I always tell myself I want to get into playing it again, but I never do. Sort of like how I've been trying to get to Dangeresque 3 for the past week, even though I haven't been doing anything meaningful to prevent my playing it.

Nah, I just have a... strange play style. Achievements that would be difficult for others, like "Jarate and then melee a group of 3 guys to death" is something that will happen on its own for me.

But I will never, ever have the achievement for stopping a backstab with the razorback.

    Ever.

I think the hardest I've ever worked for one was "Be Polite", because rather than kill someone with the kukri and then taunt, I did it the hard way and killed someone with the rifle, switched to the kukri, and taunted in time for the freezecam. As far as ones that have just happened...hell if I can remember that far back. I do remember that I got "Consolation Prize" surprisingly fast.

The achievement I'll probably never get is "World Traveler", just because I don't think I could stand sitting through an entire game on 2fort. God, I hate 2fort...
  • edited June 2010
I don't think I'll ever get Photostroika. Taunting while Ubered is just a waste.
  • edited June 2010
The hardest achievement for me was probably Scout's "Moon Shot", because I didn't know exactly how to do it quite right. I got most of my Medic achievements near the beginning of their rounds and by accident, as well as most of my Soldier achievements. I think I could probably get any achievement though. If they're there, they aren't impossible.

    Why?
  • edited June 2010
I'd guess because it would mean he'd have to swap his Jarate for the Razorback.
  • edited June 2010
    279.

I've got all the Spy ones (my main class) and getting close with the Pyro, Scout and Sniper.

And yes GuruGuru, I do play entirely too much.

I guess I take the cake at 294.

(Also, I ruined my soldier stats recently, that's why it looks so :ugh: )

The razorback is a failure of game design, and the two other weapons that can go in that slot are better in every measurable way.
  • edited June 2010
One achievment I thought I'd never get was Medical Intervention (Save a falling teammate from dying on impact) and I had stopped farming for achievments because I thought it sort of took that joy outta get them. One day I was on my regular sever with my friend and I had just gotten an uber but saw my friend got blown up really high by stray a rocket. I ubered just before she was about to land, I was actually suprised I pulled something like that off, my reflexes are usaully poor.

They need to do something with it but I don't know what. If I even come across a Razorback sniper I just shoot them anyway. Headshot plus bodyshot with the ambassador or just 3 shots from The Big Kill takes them out anyway and if they are scoped they take too long to react.

Plus Jarate is too much fun.

Couldn't agree more. A Spy who is foiled by a Razorback has either just started playing, or is missing some of their higher brain functions.
