Damn I don't know if I want to play on Badwater Basin with you guys anymore. That was insane.

There was some crazy teamstacking going on earlier today. I'm going to install some server mods to deal with it later tonight.

Still would love to know where this telltale server is.
  • edited June 2010
    The server is tf2.teltalegames.com.

We haven't pointed that name at the new server yet. Actual address is: 8.3.5.110

    finally. Thanks.

That explains a bit. Avistew, if you still want to watch, I'll try and broadcast my game on my Livestream. It'll all be through my perspective, though, and I'm not the best player, so I don't know how interesting it'll be to watch.

Cool now that that is added on to my next big tf2 issue(one after the other) it refuses to work on 2 different achievements the world traveler and head of the class achievements.
I have spy and dustbowl down on both but after that it wont allow anything else.
I played a full round on 2fort with the engineer 3 times and nothing.

I was having fun on the TTG server a little earlier. I think I managed to teamkill an employee with a rocket (is that really possible? I didn't make sure.) I wasn't used to blue team. Sorry to whatever employee that was, I don't remember

    Oh boy, that's explain everything

The only way I was able to sneakfind my way into the server was by joining the game through Yare when I saw the game was announced on the TTG TF2 page. I don't have a clue how to go to IP addresses in TF2, which is what's kept me from joining before.
  • edited June 2010
I copied the IP address and then pasted it into add favorites

Yare, what's teamstacking? I heard you complaining about it earlier.
  • edited June 2010
I think it's when a team uses pretty much all of a certain class. Like one server I was on we ended up with just Heavies

4 skilled, well-organized players (who were Steam friends) joined the same team and proceeded to stomp the rest of the server into the ground, to the point where people were no longer having fun and started quitting.

Ugh. That's especially annoying when they're able to outvote everyone against a scramble. And then if the scramble succeeds by some chance, they start whining that they had "just gotten the teams balanced right" and that the scramble "ruined the game", because any game that isn't one-sided in their favor is "ruined", apparently.
  • edited June 2010
Oh so that's what was happening

I liked how their retort, when asked to stop, was essentially, No you.

That and I was a Demoman so you had no chance anyway.

    /immodesty

And to dispel all future gloats from me (because I'm crap), here's my TF2 stats: http://tf2stats.net/player_stats/joeyomofo/

Not that I'm Yare, but teamstacking is when one team is horribly better than the other.

Oh, and I have 27 scrap metals. Should I craft a random or wait for class specific?

Yeah I didn't really have a comeback for that, so I kicked them. Haha.

I installed votescramble on the server last night so hopefully teamstacking will no longer be in issue.

Make sure developer console is activated. Press ` to bring it up at the main menu (if it still does that with the new layout) and then type connect 8.3.5.110

I just went to the server there to get it in the history and I was getting pings of over 300!! I know I'm in Scotland but that's insane. What kind of pings do the people on the West Coast of the US get?

Seems like a problem on your end. I'm in England and my ping doesn't usually extend 150. I can still get surprisingly smooth gameplay out of that, too.

Ugh I just crafted a dupe Ten Gallon.

    Maaaaaad.

    HEY
    why are you crafting hats
any self respecting telltale forum member would be wearing the max hat of awesomeness(and im not just saying that because i only have it and the ghastly gibus due to me not having enough items i can craft with)

Someone asked me yesterday how to craft my secondary weapon for scout. which is the Lugermorph.

    The Lugermorph!
This was on telltales server mind you

Hmm maybe. My internet has been acting up a little. I'll check it again tomorrow and see.

Well the match that just happened at the telltale server was one of my worst games ever.
On the plus side i did get an achievement as an heavy.

Detailed server statistics are here: http://ttg.gameme.com/

I changed the way scores are calculated this time so they are more like an Elo rating and less based on how much time you've played on the server.

Wow, I didn't know my "disguise as the enemy spy" trick would actually work! I sapped quite a few buildings and backstabbed a few people before getting killed, without them even knowing I was a spy!

Finally got to play some TF2 with some of you today. Was fun. I had no idea what I was doing at the beginning but eventually it all became clear.
  • edited June 2010
Well, i finally picked it up. £4.75 is a bargain at that price, just for the extra maps and to play with you guys. I hope m 8 hours experiance with the PS3 version will be sufficient to stop me being too bad!

Don't worry, we'll be easy on you.

I'm number 135. Not bad for only playing once, I guess.

I wish instead of KPD, that the stat it showed was "(kills+assists) / deaths", as I think that's a much more useful stat in a team-oriented game like TF2.

    Yeah, particularly with the medic.

Yeah, you are going down to 8th, bro. [The "bro" was entirely necessary]
