Heh, i suck at TF2 on PC. Far more so than on PS3. Ah well, practice makes perfect!

Groovy. Team Fortress 2 is the only multiplayer game I play consistently online. Still looks awesome as well, 3 years on.
  • edited June 2010
Maaan I really need to play more on the shiny new server. :(

Meh, I hope they don't do something like that again. It's fun searching for hidden links but that limited stuff thingy is really quite stupid ._. The TF2 board on steam forums is already full of drama no need for more.

"Added Engineer to the list of classes that can equip Max's Pistol."

The Engie update isn't out yet but a few hours ago this appeared on TF2's blog. It's probably going to happen in a week... maybe. Valve = supertrolls.
I'm so happy that Makani did it, basically the gal who created The Announcer/Administrator "good" looks doing fanart :)

So, this golden wrench. Who wants it as much as I do?
  • edited July 2010
Hey guys, I relooked my Max avatar to look like Engie's grandpa.

The Engi update isn't likely to happen soon, as the Polycount winner announcement is due July 12th.

Add it to your favourite server list (click 'add server' when on that tab) using the IP address 8.3.5.110:27015.

It's currently impossible to get it for regular play, but if you're playing on a local server that has it enabled, it's possible to load the wrench in using the console.

    Read more about it here.

Currently it's believed to be a hidden item like the Soldier's metal was.
  • edited July 2010
Except that nobody's found it yet, so it's currently believed to not be released yet.
  • edited July 2010
It's currently believed to be a lot of things right now. The TF2 forums are in hell over it.

Mh. Reminds me of somewhere else...

True. I think the Macupdate was my favorite.

Also, the first guy to get one of the rare golden wrenches (drop item) is a known hacker to have several VAC banned accounts, and his current account banned from a lot of servers.
The forums are at ultra-rage right now.

my favorite complaint was "They dumbed down the menu for the mac version."

Now I've seen the old menu, and the old menu was not pretty. I think the new one is a lot clearer, more user friendly, and they have no clue what they are talking about.
  • edited July 2010
I dislike the new menu. I felt nothing was wrong with the old menu, I find the minature buttons and such to be very ugly and less clear. Because now I've to scroll over to see what something is (I've a problem putting icons and their names in one only one I know for sure is the tutorial one). I much more liked seeing "Create a Server, Join server, Options" and such in text. I think they should have the option to let you choose which you prefer. I also dislike new steam. Now when I shift tab it'll either show up instantly, or whenever it feels like. (Usually when I'm about to be pounced/tounged/jocked/and charged or see a heavy). Then it'll only stay open for like 3 seconds, then show up again at a random time for a minute, then a last random time and it's for good untill I close it. Also now when I exit my games their exe's never close. so I have to get task manager and manually close them. And I just keep getting random bugs related to steam.
  • edited July 2010
The only bug of those I get is the game not closing.

I bet you anything they will have an Old Menu option at some point. I really think the old menu layout was ugly, but people liked it for some crazy reason. Oh, good way for it to actually close, Play in windowed mode. That seemed to fix it for me
  • edited July 2010
Yeah I was arounds for both the new and the old and I gotta say I also like the new one. It's cleaner looking and it's good to see that the game updated from the old one but yeah that's just me.

I'm kinda glad that TF2 is getting more of a story now, it's not the greatest epic tale but it's interesting to see the characters develope. Not sure on starting to learn their real names but it doesn't change my gameplay so I don't care too much when it comes to naming them, it's kinda neat to know that they have lives outside of RED and BLU.

I only like Saxton Hale stories. Man, that guy is badass.

I'm still fairly new but meh, here's mine http://tf2stats.net/player_stats/alienmage

What did the "old menu" look like? I've started playing during the free weekend and I'm assuming it changed before/during the free weekend? (since I haven't noticed anything change from the time I began playing).

Basicly a background of either the red or blu teams. With enter and about 5 other options. It really isnt something to care about. Oh guys and another thing those forums went on about those stupid medals.(oh im gold im better, no the bronze are rockin) know what im bronze and I dont care. I where it and forget about it thats all there is to it.

I can't run it in windowed mode so, saddly, that's out for me.

I wish Valve wouldn't persist with this limited item nonsense. I'm fine with the Ghastly Gibus (Halloween achievements) and bonuses when purchasing games (L4D2, Sam and Max) since they're available on a wide scale. Stuff like the 1,111 soldier medals given to those quick enough to visit a page or 100 golden wrenches got through random crafting is what I find peeving. What's crafting got to do with the core mechanics of TF2 and why should this wrench be limited to a small number of the community?

Rest of the update looks good so far.
  • edited July 2010
That new shot gun sounds alright. The 50% smaller magazine is a pretty big negative. I hope the other items are better.
Ofcourse I'm confused about the blog because it says they get them forever, when the code for the wrenches has a destoryed code for the wrench.
So, I'm thinking to the people who get it it'll be lost through time or lost to make a golden item of choice, or for a certain blue print.

I don't necessarily care for the golden wrench.. there's no plus for turning people into statues.
    But it is annoying, though.

You can use their bodies as metal.

But then again, you can use their weapons as metal the same, so it's not really that necessary.
