I also think "nice" guys do themselves in, in a way. I mean, if you're interested in me, talk to me, don't silently follow me around the store or coffee shop.
No problems here though, I was friends with all girls I really liked, but that didn't prevent them from going "I don't want to have anything to do with you at all" anyway, while swooning off with their asshole boyfriends.

*sigh* Guess it could be just me though...

My first thought at avistew's pic, "Oh! I have a shirt like that, only in purple! It's so versatile."

Second thought, "Wait, why is she showing off clothes on the ... oh, right."

I know, it's confusing, because normally I take pictures of my breasts with nothing over them. Easy mistake to make.
(Where did you find it in purple? Do you have pictures?)

I got it overseas when I was visiting my dad's family. It's not exactly the same, the cowl neck goes down almost to my waist and the false shirt front behind it is lower cut, but it's very similar. Pairs great with dark jeans or a skirt. I tend to buy my "nicer" clothes over there since they sell more catering to curvy body types. It's there or bravissimo! I'll post a pic later so the men won't complain about our clothes talk :p

This is an interesting comment, coming from the gender that has never once in recorded history initiated contact with the opposite gender.

I guess someone missed the post in which I said I've always asked out guys if I liked them?

If I'd know you didn't know about them before I'd have told you a long time ago! I mean, seriously! Buttoned shirts, that fit!

I'd also like to point out that I often tried to talk to these guys, but it's hard to make small talk with someone who refuses to speak or make eye contact. And I'm short, fat and baby-faced; I'm "cute" at best. I can't imagine what it's like for women who are actually beautiful.

I've been asked out before. Maybe Pale Man is just ugly.

You are an unnatural anomaly, in that case.

I don't even know anyone around here that has been asked out by a girl before.

Wow, I had made my peace with the idea I'd never wear one again. It's like it's my birthday and Christmas at the same time!

Well, now, everybody knew that already.

I've been asked out before, though I would certainly say it isn't as common. That said, when it does happen it's TOTALLY appreciated, even if it's someone you aren't interested in.
  • edited April 2010
Hey Will, would you like to go out for coffee sometime? :p

@Irishmile You should also point out she looks that good after having three kids. Which is totally unfair, by the way.

    Depends of the guy...
I've been told I could have had my chances with some guys if I hadn't asked them out and scared them off.

And I swear I didn't ask them out in a Yare kind of way!

Technically she let Yare know she was stalking him before she started on mini d'A ... I mean, doll.

A while back, I had a crush on one of my sister's friends. Later on, I found out that she'd had a crush on me, but had moved on. And not only that, but my sister would've been okay with it if we'd gone out. This pretty much sums up how that made me feel.

Yeah, even I (awkward, unsociable girl) have asked out guys before. It's not that uncommon.

Have you ever looked at people's profile pages here? There a visitor counter there by recent visitors..... I would bet good money that Avistew's count doubled after this thread..

Oh, don't worry. By this time tomorrow, we'll probably be talking about feet or something.

Man, forget boobs, feet are impossible to draw! They're all curved lines and folded up little toes, and everyone I ever draws wears socks constantly.

Tip: you can take your OWN socks of and draw your own feet!

I'd say feet aren't nearly as hard to draw as hands.

No woman has ever asked me out. I'm not saying there never were any "signals", there probably were (this is me being semi-optimistic) but I was probably too stupid to recognize them.

Zua looks gorgeous indeed, Irishmile, though a bit on the gray side ... Is she eating well?

    Anyway, check out these melons!

Um ... we were talking about feet? Now name the feet used in this famous bit of poetry:

    "Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:"

Aww, but I'm hopeless with English poetry! It requires knowing which parts are stressed, which I seem unable to do >.>

I don't now about poetry in english Language, but Spanish poetry had a tecnique named "pie quebrado" ("broken foot"). I don't now if it's the same...

:D Could be, but actually is when a short verse (4 or 5 syllables) is mixed between the long verses (8 to 11 syllables), which is indeed what happens in Lena's poem.

But the whole "love is not love" line reads "Admit impediments. Love is not love".

    It's Shakespeare's sonnet 116.

My fault, then. Shakespeare's only work I've ever read in English is "A midsummer's night dream", and only fragments...

I got a copy of the sonnets when I was 19, in a romantic mood and wanted to impress girls. That particular example of lunacy went even further when I also got a copy of Jane Austen's collected works.

I also got the Shakespeare collection for Christmas two years ago.
