Tried to do three fun things today and missed out on all of them.

    Feels bad.

Watching the Avengers bloopers again helped though.

Be merry! Puke! Drink some more! Puke some more! Drink and puke at the same time! Get laid and regret it in the morning! Drink some more! Never call the girl again! Life is good.

Nah. I tried drinking once. My conclusion is that I'm the most boring drunk in the world. All I did was talk about the anabolic and metabolic pathways of cholesterol to anyone who would listen to me. Probably would have moved onto amino acid synthesis next. Or the Krebs Cycle.

I think I would have lost interest in that conversation right after the biosynthesis of squalene. Would probably have picked up again on the metabolism of arginine, though.

In the May 1970 issue of Popular Science magazine, Arthur C. Clarke predicted that satellites would someday "bring the accumulated knowledge of the world to your fingertips" using a console that would combine the functionality of the Xerox, telephone, television and a small computer, allowing data transfer and video conferencing around the globe.[6]

    It will never catch on!

I probably would have stuck to my favorites. I've always been a fan of glutamine, glutamate, tryptophan, and lysine.

Mainly because I came up with my favorite pneumonic devices to remember their one letter codes. (Qutamine, GlutamatE, TWyptophan, and LysinK)

On second thought, arginine's wasn't that bad either. (ARRRRRginine)

I have a feeling that Halloween will just be another holiday that quickly comes and goes.
  • edited October 2012
How in the name of anything is Halloween considered remotely like a holiday? It's a day of the week which is typically more annoying than other days, that's all.

Had a little game today while at work.

I whistled every tune I could remember while I worked.

I'll try to list what tunes I whistled.

Super Mario Land levels 1 and 2
    Super Mario Bros level 1-3
    Rainbow Ride
The new theme in The latest Mario games (game grumps)
    Super Mario Galaxy observatory theme

    Mario kart -Koopa Beach
    Mario Kart - Mario Circuit

    Super Smash Bros Brawl/Melee theme

    Legend of Zelda theme
    Epona theme
Zelda 2 temple theme (brentalfloss version)

    Final fantasy theme
    FF3 battle music
    FF6 - Terra
FF6 - Celes (hummed it as well)
    FF5 - Chocobo theme

    Puzzle Bobble music (x2 themes)

    Mortal Kombat theme.

    Green Hill Zone
    Casino night theme
    Escape from the city
    Hill top Zone
    Chemical Plant Zone

    A few mixes/ spontaneous tunes.

Of course I have A LOT more tunes memorised but still the recall is pretty decent.

I should aim for 40 next time! XD
(I wonder if people notice these tunes I whistle)

I think though that despite not being able to play most of them I should easily have over 100 tunes memorised if not 200 with the right recall prompts...

    Halloween is the best holiday.

I'll probably spend it in lab and then find some excuse to get out to watch them drop a pumpkin frozen in liquid nitrogen from the roof of the library.

Because that sort of stuff happens here.

Actor Geoffrey Hughes has died following a battle with cancer, his friend and colleague Ricky Tomlinson confirmed to ITV news.
The 68-year-old was well known and much loved for his portrayal of slobbish Onslow in Keeping Up Appearances, and Twiggy in the Royle Family as well. He also played Eddie Yates In Coronation Street.

This is so depressing my thoughts are with his family I hope one day we do find the cure for all cancers so people's lives wont be devastated.

Its a bit of a shame my lappy is only a 2.2ghz i7.
Its a little too slow for some games on PCSX2.

This is what happens when I play Tekken Tag Tournament.

Starts of a little slow. Plays FMV. Menu takes a while to get to speed. First 5 levels work perfectly. Stage 6 and 7 get really slow. Stage 8 (against Unkown) is a little slow but only a 5-6fps loss.

Its curious. (Its performance is ALOT better than my PS3's attempt to play it! XD (software PS3 hates blue PS2 discs. Only runs them at half speed))

I'm going to eventually get Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and I do have a PS2 upstairs, but I did want to test my lappy's power a little more. (Perfectly capable as a gaming laptop, but a little too slow for a PS2/Gamecube emulator (not that I need one. Its more for curiosity's sake))

Heh. Once I eventually get a new desktop, then my future self's retro itch will be more than satiated! XD

    oh

Sounds like someone will never be in a serious committed relationship.

Making jokes like "q: what do you do if your dishwasher stops working? a:slap her and tell her to get back in the kitchen." just aren't cool or funny anymore.

I'd rather have Hillary Clinton as president than Mitt Romney. I'm just saying...

Granted, I don't want Sarah Palin as president, but I don't want Bozo the Clown to be either, so that doesn't say much.

I think that Hillary Clinton would have made a much better president than anyone currently running for office. I mean, she's made a pretty boss Secretary of State. It's kinda a shame that she's retiring.

So she says. If she got a big enough backing, she might change her mind.

    Hey, you never know.

  • edited October 2012
It has a proper version of Deathstroke aka Slade so I really couldn't fault it so far. It's more than Smallville was able to muster.
