So we've got people failing to run in a straight line, regular commercials, and a half time show that consisted of a stripper going "OOOOOAOAOOAOHOAOOHAOAHOAOHAHOAO"
I don't really care about the new version of the site, but it feels like Telltale's been in complete radio silence mode for anything that isn't the Walking Dead since... well... forever.
Aside from announcing Fables and Kings Quest a thousand years ago, nobody seems to have any idea what to expect, uh, ever. At least give us a tease one in a while!
Having been here for a couple of months, I'm really beginning to appreciate that projects really do stay in flux for some time before the final product comes together. I think the quietness is somewhat a result of that - we wouldn't want to tease or announce something only to have it significantly change later.
For what it's worth though, I don't think it's crazy expect you might see something new in the next few weeks.

woo!
Looks like Beyonce used up all the power. :P
(I know this is a lame double post, but i can't scroll the response window on my phone... Will merge them up later!)

To be honest, that's what I consider the 'Telltale of old'.
Game announcements and release of the first episode could be less than three months apart [does anyone have the exact dates for ToMI? My research just now has scarcely believable results - like, Jun 1st announcement, Jul 7 release?!]. This was what I considered the "Telltale way" and one of the perks of episodic gaming.
Things got really different mid 2010/early 2011 with the announcement of so many franchises that you're STILL working off that list. I'll be glad when those times are over, announcements are made game by game and especially:
Completely new, surprising projects/franchises with rather immediate ep1 release are announced.
...you wouldn't, by any chance, know anything about something like this?
Hey, so the regular kindle is on sale for £59 instead of £69 today.
Anyone who has or has tried the vanilla version think its worthwhile having one?
I like the idea of having a dedicated eReader, and reading on my laptop (with its widescreen), and phone have been a pain, and I'm wondering if getting one might encourage me to read more.
(Since I can just whip it out and read it easy because its so light and no glare from the backlight either)
EDIT: I read up on it a little and it seems you can install a custom firmware on it that lets you read more formats.
(Duokan or something)
Hmmm... maybe I might get one afterall...
Probably worth to have one, but be aware that these Kindles will drop in price considerably during the next months. The Paperwhite is vastly superior and the Fire models are at least far more popular.
Disclaimer: I own a Paperwhite model, and although it's a REALLY nice thing to own, I'm not completely satisfied with it. You might want to at least consider non-Amazon models which support ebook formats from more than a single online store. The way it is right now, Amazon pretty much hogs the ebook market, and that's never particularly good.
Going for the Kindle is a bit like going for Apple products. You might get good quality, but you'd also lock yourself in, supporting market domination.

The Tales numbers are definitely accurate. Most people here don't actually remember how insane this was, most people here didn't find out about Tales by going to the Telltale site and doing a double-take after having not that long earlier making a post about how, no, for the millionth time, Telltale are NOT DOING MONKEY ISLAND. No, doing Sam and Max doesn't mean they have a shot. Their licensing deal was through PURCELL, not LucasArts. No, they can't just get their license deal through Ron Gilbert, he doesn't own it. Etc soforth. This was actually after spending an INCREDIBLY long time after a forum-announced development on Season Three that had a rough release date that got closer, and closer, and closer, and then just sort of....passed, and we spent months without word about Season Three because they put it on hold to start working on Monkey Island and couldn't say a damn thing about it.

I hear the paperwhite models are prone to being a bit dodgy.
Plus if I'm going to get a tablet, I think I might save up for a Google Nexus 32gb, since that seems like the best one out there, and pretty well priced.
And, well, it could be good for the folks to borrow for their holiday. (My Dad has an iPad, but my mum might use it. I'm liking the battery life for something like that)
I think for the price of just two new games, it might be good enough to knock about with.
(Plus I'm thinking Uni-wise I could get my textbooks in digital format and read them that way... Then again that could be awkward. How does it render pictures? If its just decent but in black and white, I might be able to handle that alright (by then I might have that tablet though so I would only need it for like a quiet read on the go))
EDIT:
Hmmm.... Now I'm wondering if I should just get the tablet.
(I've been reading the reviews, and it seems these Kindles can break just past their year warranty. Not too bad now I guess since in a year, they will be redundant, but it does make me a little hesitant. Plus that £59 is £59 that could go towards that tablet...)
Don't worry too much about the pictures. Yeah, reading comics with the standard model is probably a pain. There are grey levels, but not that many, and frankly, tech enthusiasts are used to higher resolutions. The argument for the Kindle is its battery life, hopefully shifting the thing from an electronic to a mechanical feel.
I can get a 32GB Google Nexus for £180 where I work, which is only 3x more.
(But then I can use android apps, and music, and films, and that)
So it comes down to Battery Life Vs. Functionality.
EDIT: You know what. I think I can afford to get the Nexus. I mean, I get paid next friday, and I havent spent much of this months pay, so I might just go for it. (And then just install the Kindle app or something..)
I'll make it even easier for you. Do you want an e-reader or do you want a tablet? That really is the only question to answer.
Yeah. I'm getting the tablet! XD
(Tomorrow though, I just sorted my clubcard account out today. Turns out all this time I couldn't access it online because the idiot that set it up didn't put a first name on the system. (just a letter! XD))
Should be sorted by tomorrow though, and hopefully I might have a voucher or two to use to make it even cheaper!
I'm taking a wild stab in the dark here. But I think its a Nexus.
EDIT: (A Nexus 10? It seems similar in shape)
(Also I think the Nexus 10 is made by Samsung, whereas the 7 is made by ASUS)
Fact: Stabbing wildly in the dark isn't a good strategy during a sword fight, as you'll make too much noise. The best is to lay low, wait until the other tries to take a stab at you and follow its noise instead.

I guess I could do that.
....Or maybe, I dunno... put these night vision goggles on and take this sniper rifle and shoot them or something...

IMO he was never creepy or menacing.
A 10 foot tall man with tentacle arms and no face isn't creepy to you?
I'm afraid to ask what DOES creep you out.
Furbies.
Don't look into their eyes. They will devour your soul.
Teletext.
Pfft. Furbies are nothing compared to the evil that is Teddy Ruxpin.
Yep.
And bees.
It's not even supernatural enough to be supernaturally scary. It's annoying is all it is.
Well time to watch the superbowl.
woo!

You know you'll be held to that now.
I try to phrase things very carefully - you might not be crazy to expect it, but I'm not saying it will definitely be the case!
But yeah... that is a good reason why folks tend to stay quiet. :P
I figure the power outage followed by the 49ers suddenly playing much better was due to someone giving that voodoo guy more Bud Light.

It's still tempting now.
So I look up a list of sustainable fish...

Bad idea in my opinion. The recoil could ram the scope right into the goggles.
