So Nintendo Aren't holding a press conference at E3 this year. Not sure what I think of this.

Well that was a less than pleasant return coach trip. Heating on full blast when it's warm enough without it, and this coupled with the fact that all the air conditioner did was add more hot air meant that everyone was far too hot and I couldn't get any sleep which isn't good at all on an overnight journey. So now I'm back home but knackered from only having a short nap once I got back here but still have things that need doing today.

On the plus side it was a very informative trip to London and will definitely help shape the decisions I have to make. On the negative side, damn blisters. Happens every time I'm down there, through all the walking that gets done.

Do you know which one you'll be choosing yet? When do you have to accept your offers?

If I had to pick one now I could but I want to take my time with it, look at what modules each course offers and work out the financial stuff before making the final decision. I think I have until sometime in early June because I didn't get all my offers in before the end of March but I hope to make the decision fairly soon, within two to three weeks really so I can get on with planning whatever moves that will be needed to make.

They have nothing new to show. They're letting their developers sell the brand this time around. It's not a bad move if you've got nothing in hand. The days will already be chocked with "look what our game can do only on the Wii U".

Whatever they say in the books... it feels SHITTY.

    It gets better.

When I first started running I was three hundred pound and could barely do 5 minutes.

The procedure was 2 minutes running, 8 walking. Then 3 minutes running, 7 walking. Etc etc increasing the running as I reduced the walking over a course of weeks.

Now I'm able to run 10 miles no problem and I've lost a ton of weight.

Oh, I've been there. Except it took a bloody year to get to half an hour of constant running, and I couldn't even do two minutes when I started. And that was wayyyy back when I still was really really REALLY slim and the last thing I would have wanted was to loose weight. ;)

Starting to run after winter... that's almost like totally starting over for me. I get totally exhausted even from the least effort - and have to make sure not to catch a cold immediately, regardless of outside temperature. In some years, I don't even manage to 'get into it' again. Need to find alternative sports activity in those cold months...

Nothing new in hardware, but they have plenty of unannounced 3DS and Wii U titles still apparently. Yes, still MORE unannounced 3DS projects.

And they've still got tons of announced games to show off. Both Zelda Wii U games, both Smash bros games and a mario kart as well.

I was steaming drunk last night and have no memory of posting my two previous posts. I must say that I'm rather chuffed that even when I'm wasted and typing nonsensical posts; my spelling remains in a reasonable state. Um... go me or something!

It's always nice to know that people are so ready to judge me and my fucking family from just a glance, imagining all sorts of evils about us. Especially fucking religious people.

Every fucking time. "Oh, they're weird" "They're jerks. How come they don't talk or even look at us."

Maybe people have a fucking shyness problem you cunts. What did you fuckers do to remedy the situation? You perfect, blameless fucks.

    I hate Missouri.

In fairness, most people hate Missouri.

It's really disillusioning for a guy who was raised by Christians to realize when he's not even that old yet, that the people who do all the things I was taught to judge them for, are BETTER PEOPLE THAN THE PEOPLE IN CHURCH.

You can get off to barbed wire tentacle porn. You're a better person than the people in church.

You can kick a puppy in the face with cleets. You're a better person than the people in church.

You can steal an old lady's purse and beat her up with it. You're a better person than the people in church.

Cause at least you have no room to judge everyone else.

Because if you run around in the city looking like that people would start to scream and shout and let it all out and scream and shout and let it out saying oh wee oh wee oh wee oh. Also you might get shot with tranq arrows and sent with a bunch of other animals like a giraffe, a hippopotamus and a zebra to I don't know.

Also, this reminded me of coolsome.

Because you'd be in a zoo all day with children throwing their popcorn at you?

You know, I've recently been talking shit about Michigan. We're a conservative state with a "From our cold dead hands" stance to guns. Detroit is considered a lost cause (It's isn't nearly as bad as you think), As is Flint. but there's one thing I absolutely love about Michigan.

The people don't completely suck. When you're walking down the street people will say hello to you, or at least nod at you. They're not going to think you're weird for not talking to people. They'll try to talk to you, but they'll understand if you're shy.

I actually think you learned the wrong lesson, slightly. Ultimately you're not supposed to judge because everyone does things that are judgement worthy. "All have fallen short of the glory of God" bit. The difference with some church people is they forget the grace part of faith and jump to the condemnation.

People are like that in Texas. Unless you're not white.

Oh, Utopia, Texas. Where I actually sat and listened to people talking about Obama and using the phrase "Uppity N###er."

I think Berkeley is probably my favorite place in terms of people being welcoming. Like, a social justice person from tumblr could go to Berkeley, and someone would probably buy them an ice cream and say, "there there, I totally agree with you"

I mean, by comparison, now that I'm back in Southern California, everyone is so conservative. I talk about a lesbian couple getting their kid baptized in a Catholic Church (which happened in Berkeley) and people look at me like I just said that the Berkeley Catholic Church had the congregation eating live babies midway through the service or something.

I told someone about a guy who came to this Viennese waltz group that I hung out with dressed in a rainbow colored suit and I was legitimately asked if he was "moral". Not if he was gay, but if he was "moral".

And, on a related note, then there's the anti-vaccine people. I think every person who refuses to vaccinate their child should have that child taken away from them because they have basically proven that they're the worst parents. A baby died today of pertussis (whooping cough), which is something that hadn't happened since the turn of the century, because the parents refused to vaccinate that baby against it. In my eyes, those parents are guilty of gross negligence and possibly manslaughter, but our glorious nation is too busy ragging on girls for taking birth control to pay any attention to this.

I apologize for this rant, I'm slightly possibly inebriated and that makes me want to fix the world with a hammer.

I know.....I know I can't say that about every person in church. But church is an uncomfortable hostile environment for me now. Religious people are uncomfortable for me to be around.

Yet, in spite of this, everyone, secular, and religious, hates and judges my family.

    I hate it.

Remember, the ones who condemn the loudest are often the ones who are secretly doing what they're preaching against. Or they're scared because they're soooooo tempted.

A simple "Thanks for your insight" will usually help them feel validated, which will shut them up, and not hate you so much.

(And I'm in total agreement about vaccination.)
  • edited April 2013
The secret is to act apathetic toward someone that's judgmental. People either want you to love them for their ideas or argue with them. Nothing quite angers most people as acting as if their ideas are merit less or ignored.
  • edited April 2013
But you see, they continue hating. Their parents hate, their grandparents hated, and their children will probably hate. If I'm apathetic, then they have already won. Perhaps they won't hate me, but they sure as hell will hate someone else.

Makes me think of the bit from Les Mis "If I speak out, I am condemned... if I stay silent, I am damned."

There's a difference between responding to someone's judgment in a way that escalates what is inherently an argument, and waiting and reframing the scenario in order to express your views. When the conversation begins on the framework of hostility it rarely has a happy end.

I have a temper, and I get emotional very quickly. I don't show it outwardly in person, but inside I can be exploding. If I get set off, I'm a nightmare. Not responding with hostility is hard for me.

I ran into the guy who treated me like shit the most in high school the other day. I contemplated how I could best murder him and hide his body nearby for the five minutes we were in the same room. I kind of wanted to suffocate him with his Monster brand a-shirt.

    Its an annoying misconception.

I mean my little bro does all kinds of stuff vs me.
He goes to the gym all the time. And swims too. (The bottom of his legs are HUGE. Pure muscle)
He's fat because he eats crap. I mean he just won't touch much more than meat and potatoes.
We have got him to eat rice and pasta and lettuce and fruit, and a little spinach, he just won't touch anything else.

Plus I mean' he hangs out in his room a lot, but he spends all that time looking stuff up.
He has an obsession with dates, and tells everyone about all kinds of stuff and when it originated from.
(It makes a fun game to shout out a cartoon and then see if he knows the date it was released)

He's quite cunning and sly, always planning stuff out.
