Why, the 3ds is said to rival the PS3 in graphics.

Uh no. PS2, maybe. But not PS3. By a long shot.

Sooo... has anyone been able to pre-order it yet?

There is no release date or official price outside of Japan. Why are you so antsy to put down money now? What's the point? You don't have a 3DS in your hands any more the moment you pre-order than you do the moment before you do.

That's what my mom said to me when I pre-ordered The Devil's Playhouse!

I was unaware that The Devil's Playhouse had a release date and pricing in Japan well before the same data came out for the US.

I'm obviously not Nintendo. At all.

This's why you'll never own that castle in Europe

Telltale is just real slick with those kinds of things. That's how they roll.

"As for the battery," Nintendo president Satoru Iwata said during an investor Q&A, "it is inevitable that Nintendo 3DS will be a device which requires more frequent recharging than Nintendo DS. This is why we are going to include the cradle, which is a dedicated battery charger. Perhaps we may need to dispatch to our consumers a message, something like, 'Please place your Nintendo 3DS on the cradle as soon as you return home with it.'"

Maybe waiting for hardware revision 2 is a good idea simply for a better battery life.

Because I like to pre-order just so I know I've got one secured. Especially after how hard it was to find a Wii when they came out.

You should just do a midnight release with a group of friends. That's what I did and weirdly enough I had more fun that night than I ever had with the wii itself. And that's not even a diss on the wii.

My friends either don't care or are waiting for a price drop. :(

I went to a midnight launch for the DSi, but I still had one pre-ordered anyway just to be safe. :p

I'm going to 1 day pre-order it from Amazon. As amazon ships stuff a bit early so with two day buyers it gets there on launch day. My brother got Season 4 of Dexter a few days before it was released due to this.

I don't mean to piddle on your pilates but I've got a feeling Amazon will be a little more strict regarding shipping dates with the 3DS than they were with Dexter season 4.

Meh, even if they don't I'd still get it day one.

Who said they have made a game with PS3 graphics yet. I know it rivals PS2 graphics(hence kingdom hearts) Plus im sure i heard in an interview that it rivals the PS3, or did they say the 3d made it feel like it rival the PS3

I've seen video of gameplay. At that level, there is no way that it can beat PS3 graphics. Have you seen the PS3's graphics? PS2, being the earliest console to come out previous gen (besides Dreamcast. god bless its soul), has he worst graphical capability. I would have been surprised if the 3DS couldn't top the PS2. I'm pretty sure it's only up to par (if not just a bit better) than the Gamecube. But even then, it's still grainy like the DS. Especially so with Chocobo 3D Racer.

I'm sure they meant rival the PS3's 3D tech. Because even as a Nintendo Fanboy, I'm sorry, 3DS can't run Bad Company 2.

The only problem with that is if it releases on a Sunday (like I assume it will), then you won't get it launch day.

That's when Amazon's notrious for releasing it early. How my friends got SMG2 and a few other top Nintendo games pre-day one.

    It's a handheld console. Handheld.

Woah really? I had no idea.

Ok guys, maybe it could just be that I have yet to play much of a PS3(only kid games my younger relatives own) so I wouldent know what all it could process, but this still looks good for a handheld

I'm slightly more interested in their Time Travelers project, frankly.

Those images of Pheonix and Layton... They look really awesome.

Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton. My God, the wait keeps getting harder for this thing.
  • edited October 2010
My mind is going over the many ways in which those two franchises would serve to improve each other, and it seems extremely promising. Phoenix Wright with hand-animated cutscenes? Professor Layton with relevant, crime-related puzzles? This could easily become one of the most enjoyable games in each series.

Did you know that the PSP is still generations behind the DS? Think about it. They've only released four models of the PSP, when on the other hand Nintendo is just constantly releasing new models every two years, wasting their money into oblivion. Do you see what Sony's doing? They're saving it all up for the release of the 4000, which will blow the mind of any Nintendo fanboy who gazes upon it.

Until the PSP gets Pokemon, (roughly the same time as Hell will freeze over I'd imagine) I couldn't give a crap how much more advanced/better/faster/stronger it is compared with the 3DS. GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL.

Apparently, the Pokemon Professor for Black/White will be the player's mother. That'll make it extra-weird when she asks what your name is and if you're a boy or a girl...

    *blink*

    But...that doesn't make any sense.

DS has all the properties that sell, bar maybe Metal Gear Solid, it's not your hardware that matters, it's your games and Nintendo have had a far better lineup than Sony on the handheld front sice DS and PSP went head-to-head

Not to say that I wouldn't want a PSP, far from it. But my money's with Nintendo cos I know what i'm getting

Jed, buddy. How did you forget Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D?

I'm sure he's talking about the the DS(L/i(XL)) since he's comparing it to the PSP.

I'll have to say 3 decades of the rosary and walk around the church bare-footed twice for that one. I can only assume it was sheer giddy excitement for Kid Icarus and Level-5's hostess game that made me neglect such a hallmark title

You know, I love Layton's OBJECTION pose there.

Uh, no. Line ups matter, not power. DS only released DS, Lite, I, and XL. That's 4 models aswell. It's sad that the PSP had to release 4 models in a shorter time span. I've spent time looking and including import titles I've found a total of 12 games for the PSP I'd even remotely be interested in playing and some with want status. On the DS I've over 20 games and still am getting more.

Besides the whole 'no Pokemon' thing, that's pretty much why I'd still rather have a DS than a PSP. I used to want a PSP when they came out because they could be modded to run emulator software, including ScummVM, but these days you can do that on a DS too. The only PSP games I'd actually want would be Loco Roco 1 and 2, I can't think of any others that interest me.
