BBC america didn't notice the lack of Tom, and the doubling of peter when they posted the multi-doctor picture, which surprised me.
As for the new jacket. That is pretty awesome, but will take some getting used to. What strikes me more is the pyramid: I've always wanted to see an episode set in Ancient egypt, featuring the pyramids being space ships or some such like, with the ancient gods (like Anubis) being real aliens (although I later learned that that plot was already done by the Stargate film).
Heh, maybe they're making episodes of the Fan fiction Matt wrote when he was first cast, featuring albert einstein!
Maybe that's a plot arc symbolising Paul McGanns return?! That's why he needed a new outfit, because 11 stole his! Moffat, I have cracked your crafty ways!
BBC america didn't notice the lack of Tom, and the doubling of peter when they posted the multi-doctor picture, which surprised me.
Some fan you are! There's one Peter, but Two Colins, the one with the afro in back and the one you can see who's dressed without his Jacket a la The Two Doctors.
One of the audios on sale this week are from the batch I bought two weeks ago facedesk.
And I've been getting used to the Jacket for quite some while, as Matt's been seen filming in it for quite some time now. I'll miss the tweed, though. I'm a bit tired of DOCTOR IN LONGCOAT LOL now that Matt's stealing it from Tennant, McGann, Both Bakers, Davison, and Hartnell.
but that promo-pic is a pretty awful Photoshop-filter-mess.
I always wanted to know how to photograph my actors (and what filters to apply in photoshop) to achieve that wax-like face effect. It looks pretty epic.
It looks so natural too... there are some colorisations that are so fake looking and unnatural, but the colors look like they could have been there all along =D

Yeah, this guy helped with the recolourization of Planet of the Daleks, inwhich Episode 3 was only available in Black and White due to the color print being lost. I'd love to see a whole episode done like this, just because I'm incredibly selfish. But it takes roughy 15 minutes a frame, which means that a full, 25 frames per minute and 25 minute episodes would take 150+ hours. He could do The Mind Robber One, which is only 18 minutes long, if he wanted, though.
Much as it would be nice to dream, I doubt that financially it could be justified to hire Babelcolour, bearing in mind he did every single frame by hand! That kind of labour-intensive work would cost a fortune (whereas the stuff on his youtube site he did, of course, for free, and for the love of the show).
Interesting, though, and some of the comments on youtube agree with me here, that the clips from "The Invasion" look better than the others. I thought some of the other clips had their colours too deep, but "The Invasion" looks pretty close to 1970s Who. Is that just because we're used to seeing the Brig in colour, or is just better?

Aside from some short clips he colourized for the Ten Doctors, it's the most recent thing he's done, meaning he's had more experience. In addition, the VIDfire (DVD restoration for 60's Who) for The Invasion is rather nicely done.
Edit: I just compared screengrabs from my DVDs of The Mind Robber vs The Invasion, two back-to-back stories, the difference being one was done in 2005 and the other in 2008, and The Invasion is much cleaner.
Unrelated edit:
This picture is incredibly unsettling for a reason I can't put together.
So the newly announced Minecraft Mobs are Weeping Angels pretty much.
They are peaceful.
Until you look straight at them.
Then they stop and stare at you.
The endermen are coming for you, but listen, your life could depend on this: don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast, faster than you could believe. Don't turn your back, don't look away, and *don't blink*! Good luck.
Yes. In other news, I'm looking forward to the conclusion of series 5 in august.
My best explanation for such an error is that my brain had a typo. It does seem like it should be a series 2 episode though. Apart from Martha of course.
*edit 2*
The latest big finish podcast contains the DWM freebie eighth doctor audio play: Living legends. For your amusement. It's... not that great, but still worth a listen, I suppose.
Well, the cover art on that set looks like a board game. And the banner on the top is in the wrong order. Boo.
Also, does it contain the animated episodes? If not: LIES! LIES!
But yeah, it seems like a decent set, although outrageously expensive, given the price of our nearest equivalent, series 1-4 for £45.
*edit*
Possibly the most random merchandising i've seen. Pure genius.
*edit 2*
Look at the price of this thing! Wow. I paid £10 from them for a new copy, not 6 months ago! I'm guessing it's out of print now, but to think someone thinks it's worth over £100!
And by the looks of it, the eighth doctor novels are going through the roof too. Maybe I should start getting those...
*edit 3* New trailer.
It seems you americans aren't happy with just americanising Torchwood, you have to do the pyramids as well!
Actually, it says Area 51 on the side, which is... intresting.
And by the looks of it, the eighth doctor novels are going through the roof too. Maybe I should start getting those...
Apparently, the BBC used to have a good portion of all the Wilderness Years novels on their website for free, but took it down a year or two ago. Enraged by this (I'm against things that aren't billed as limited time only being taken away for no real reason) I've seeked out these downloads from other sources. I'm not particularly interested in the EDAs right now (got enough of him on Audio as-is) but more for the Past Doctor Adventures, namely the 2nd and 3rd Doctor (Eight only features twice, once in a Multi-doctor with 4 and once by himself once the EDAs ended). But the place I found had all of series in one hting, so I guess I might get to them eventually.
Also; they've started doing eReprints of the EDAs and charging for them on Kindle store, or so I've heard.
So BBC America are doing a series of one hour 'The Best of Doctor Who' specials for some reason in the weeks leading up to the 27th. Most notably, Pete from 30 Rock is a commentator.
Also; there is a bar in NYC where the Bathroom has a TARDIS on the outside (so the inside of the TARDIS is the men's room) and they're doing a screening of the TV Movie soon. This sounds like the best bar, mainly because of the high Paul McGann content coming soon. (I really, really want to watch the Movie again, curse you Netflix! Curse you!!!)
So Amazon has Who on sale, including the Complete Lost in Time set for $17. Which means it's less than a dollar an episode. I refuse to watch any recons where I can buy the actual episode legally, so this'd certainly solve my problem. I think I'll pick it up with Paradise Towers next week (Because I have 2 from every Doctor except McCoy)
Why was Colin Baker afraid of Sylvestor McCoy? Because McCoy McGann'ed Eccleston! ahahaha!
People are noticing the silver thing on her leg, what about the colour of her legs? Is that misscolouring or just some weird stockings?
In this picture? Definitely some kind of tights. Not even particularly odd ones, I'd say, although the overall color balance of that art does make them stand out a bit more.
Also; they've started doing eReprints of the EDAs and charging for them on Kindle store, or so I've heard.
Apparently, the BBC agreed with Lance Parkin, Kate Orman and Jon Blum to reprint some of their NAs and EDAs so long as there was no publicity whatsoever. I think most of Mr P's books have been dropped, though, and for some reason Amazon is slowly claiming the rest have gone for a burton as well. But the Dr Who Reprint Society, who campaigned for this kind of thing, have said that the publishers (Ebury) have said it's an error by Amazon, and the books should start coming out at the end of August. Also on Kindle.

Yet another reason to be at comicon.

HD trailer.
It's nice to see two Baker Minors, though.
New promo photo you'll see everywhere? Biggest deal? The Doctor has a new outfit.

Just kidding, of course. He really stole it from Captain Jack.

In other news, Peter Davison has stolen Matts suit. But unfortunately couldn't force him to part with the bow tie!
Aha!
But the first doctor still reminds me of a Klingon!
At first I thought, my, the Doctor sure has some femine legs, until I realized that one leg belonged to Amy.
Also, there seems to be a glitch in time:
Yes, but his previous self stole that jacket originally anyway, didn't he?
Look on Amy's leg. What is that silver thing sticking out of it?
Or indeed a later incarnation of the doctor. Then the metaphor really hits the fan, as the saying doesn't go.
It's probably the same cosmic disturbance that gave Eve Myles 8 fingers.
Sand!
Sands of time?!
Anyway, sweet omg-causing-trailer, nice coat, but that promo-pic is a pretty awful Photoshop-filter-mess.

Just to make you jealous: This is the version I have.
