It seems that they decided to air the prequel today afterall...

That prequel was pretty creepy. It reminds me a bit of the Buffy episode Hush, what with the creepy silent monster thing in the background.

I thought the girl sounded a bit like little Amelia Pond at first.

They are apparently revealing an "iconic series 6 image" tonight on the official site.

I'm working my way through the days twitter feed at the moment. It seems Colin Baker temporarily lost his luggage in singapore.

That was a pretty well done mini-episode. And truly creepy. This Moffat-guy! Skillfully triggers these fears that everyone is familiar with.
I am very hyped. Maybe a bit too much.

My 10th Doctor costume was ruined by Tennant being a 6'1" dark-haired man, and me being a 5'4" blonde woman. :(

Clearly, Tom Baker sucks and that is why he was, for the longest time, the most popular and beloved Doctor of them all.

You can preorder the fourth Doctor content now! Yay!

Season one of The Fourth Doctor Adventures will begin release in January, and feature Leela, set immediately after Talons of Weng-Chiang.

Season 2 features Romana I, with a date after June 2012 (obviously), and is set immediately after The Armageddon Factor (ie Romana I's last story).

Lost Stories is one four-part serial with Leela and one six-part serial with Leela, released in January 2012.

Really good prices for now until July - 6.7(your currencies) per episode, as opposed to 10 your currencies for Season 1, 6.4 for Season 2, and if you buy the whole lot that's 7.667 your currencies an episode.
  • edited March 2011
    Wow, that is Pretty good!
But i'm still focusing on Paul McGanns series'. My latest release I have is Zagreus, which ends on a cliffhanger, so i'm waiting until I get some more money together, so I can buy a 12 disc subscription (which includes the limited edition "The four doctors" story for free as an extra) Considering that's 13 stories for £140, and the Tom Baker series bundle is £115 for 14, that's an amazing deal!

psst; David Tennant isn't first in any sense.
    11doctors-lrg.jpg
These are the eleven actors, in order, who are canonical Doctors. David Tennant was the tenth total, and the second Doctor in the new series. William Hartnell was first in the old series, and Christopher Eccelston played the Doctor for Series One of the New Series.

With the S. River isn't in the episode, may I remind you. In addition, Neil Gaiman said something not used since
    The War Games
    will be in his episode.

I recently purchased The New Begginings (ie Last Two Tom Baker/First Davison) and the Black Guardian (Mawdryn Undead/Terminus/Enlightenment) box sets, and The Sontaran Experiment as well and I just realized how much Doctor Who I've been watching. To make matters worse, Trial of a Time Lord is coming in the mail someitme in the next week.

Speaking of Colin Baker, everyone's favorite technicolour Doctor was first unveiled 27 years ago today in the Radio Times:

Wow. I want that split suit.

Also, the trials of a timelord set was amazing. It completely reversed my opinion of Colin. I'd only seen him in "the two doctors" before, which I hated him in.

I'm in the mood for a new boxset, I'm thinking "The keys to time". An entire season for £25 doesn't sound too shabby. That and maybe "Kamelion tales" and "mara tales"

I think my wallet may take a severe pounding when i'm in the giant doctor who shop & experience on saturday!

The only reason I didn't get the 'Key 2 Time' audio dramas was because I lacked the Key to Time DVD and felt I might miss something.

Speaking of, pre-ordered the Lost Stories: Season 27! Yay!

For those wondering what Lost Stories might be included in the Baker set, check out this place: http://homepage.ntlworld.com/thebatgranny/bak.htm

I hope we get to meet Tom Baker's dream companion, a piece of talking cabbage that sits on his shoulder!

I really need to get a job, so I can get up to date with all the doctor who audios/releases. Although given the release rate, that's never going to happen! There's like, what, 30+ Big finish doctor who related releases a year? (The paul mcgann audios, monthly seasons, lost stories, Gallifrey series and the Jago & lightfoot series)

I feel the subscriptions are so overpriced. You save a total of like 6 your currencies by buying it through a subscription as opposed to individually in the Monthly series. Whereas The Lost Stories for Season 27 is still in pre-order, so it's 45 your currencies for four, more or less a Buy 3 get the Fourth Free. You can actually preorder The Series 3 of the Lost Stories for 75 your currencies, which is an even better deal as it'd be 104 your currencies. And of course, the fourth doctor set is in pre-pre-order, making it really really cheap and a good deal all around.

Yeah, I've always thought the audios were overpriced in general. Sure they're awesome stories, but they're more expensive than the DVD's, which have video and a ton of extras too. Given that I haven't seen the vast majority of the original TV run, they have a priority. Them and the Paul McGann episodes (as I love his doctor. And the audios (especially the individual EDA series') sound remarkably like the new doctor who series', complete with awesome soundtrack, and overarching plotlines.

One thing I do find odd about them is that a lot of the ideas seem to crop up in the new series. Parts of the Colin Baker drama "Jubilee" for instance were very remininscent of "Dalek". Only more indepth and with lots of extra stuff.
