Also, I'll finally be on Skype again tomorrow and could really use some help from anyone who knows what's going on as I don't really know what I'm doing with this crazy dragon-making. At all. I'll probably be on from about noon-6 PM PST or so.
I wish to apologise for my lack of communication last night/this morning, I was a little tired. Actually, I was more than a little tired as proved when I feel asleep at around 3ish, at my desk and with my headphones still on. So apologies for that too. At least I had my microphone muted. Hate to think what the alternative would have been like for you listeners.
Hey, it's fine. You didn't miss much, really, just a lot of us roleplaying.
On the clerical end of things, we will be leveling at the end of next session, so if anyone has questions in regards to epic level prestige classes, leveling an Epic character, etc. feel free to drop me a line.
I know I asked it on the skype chat, but it was apparently unclear so I figured I'd put it up here. I was proposing we run a game today (Sunday the 15th). Because this is the one day a week I skype chat with my folks back home, it'll be a bit later than our usual starting time, probably around 11-ish my time. We won't run the session for very long as I know people have shit to do on Monday, so it'll maybe be a 2-3 hour session.
I might have been able to make it, but my dad just found some flagstone on Craigslist. I may still yet be able to make it if he doesn't get a call back, but then I could have to leave at any time if he does get that call.
Pfft, it's not even that complicated in this day and age. I have the cable modem in my room, and it connects to the house's phone system through the jack behind my desk. I yank one plug and no phones for the rest of the house.
Yeah, but then you have a family who will just come up and force you to replug it. You should spike their drinks with powerful tranquilizers and put them into a comatose state.
Yeah, I've tried playing in the other campaign with no mic for short periods, which was much less RP heavy, and while it was possible, it was sort of awkward.
Due to Dissertation shenanigans I've not been on top of my game as much as I would like. Getting up at seven to have to fight with the campus library has not helped anything. On top of this, interest has pretty much dissipated on my Pirate game that I run Sundays, so I had to scrap it, and I'm having to write a new campaign on top of trying to hash out the second plot of the Dragon Campaign.
This post has two purposes: To fill in people who missed the impromptu Sunday session, and to ask two questions of you guys.
Basically for those who missed, we went to Arborea, home of the Dragon Goddess of merriment, story-telling and bards, Hlal. We talked with her and got her to bring the goddess, Aasterinian (messenger of the Dragon god Io) to meet with us. After some flying fail on the part of Cairn, we spoke with Io, who directed us to Baccob's Library of Lore to go research how to make god-slaying weapons. After doing so, we're planning to go to Limbo to meet a Githzerai smith that Kale remembers, who may or may not still be alive. If I missed anything, we'll fill the rest in on the chat before we get going.
Now for the questions:
For the obvious reason (Godslayers) I need to know what kind of weapons your guy's human forms are favoring. Kale and Cairn are covered fine, and I sort of have an idea about Samara's, but I want to make things you guys will use, you know? For our two spell-casters, I'm either going to craft weapons for you, or make magic items. Let me know what weapons you gave the characters and I'll...figure something out.
Second question is on something I brought up earlier: We levelled last session. I don't remember if I told everyone or not, but aside from Cairn (who's lvl 20 now) and Kale (who's lvl 22) everyone just hit what's techincally Epic Level (At least by the arbitrary definition that the epic Level Handbook puts forward). If you're going straight through with your class the Epic Level Handbook will walk you through it fine. If you're prestiging, please let me know what you're taking, why, and if you need any help.
I don't really know what's going on, but I suppose I should go read this handbook of yours.
Also, Tertia technically has a quarterstaff and a light crossbow, I think, but I don't think she can use them very well. Much prefers blasting things with magic, though.

I was there, and this still helped me out a bit. I do know where we're at for the most part (though missing the end of that Friday session left me lost for a good chunk of Sunday), but a summary like this is nice even just to help keep names straight.

I ended up choosing the Drow Long Knife, with the return (which I can't find in the books) and Shadow Striking enchantments. Other than where I can find that return enchantment, I had a question about it.
I'm a little unclear on how Shadow Striking works. The description says that it adapts to a creature on contact and lasts for 1d4 minutes after the last time it made contact. Does that mean it doesn't take effect the first time it's used?

Oh, right, you'd mentioned that earlier and I'd forgotten about it. You know Samara's a rogue 10/shadowdancer 10, so is there anything unusual I need to know about my 21st level? Any reason it would be good to continue leveling my rogue, or am I best off starting on Epic Shadowdancer?

The Return enchantment is on page 225 of the Dungeon Master's Guide.
As for Shadow Striking, what it does is after it hits a target, it basically magically identifies the enemies type and adjust to go through damage reduction. So basically, yes the first hit will go through DR, but at leaves 10 - 40 rounds worth of hits will depending on the last time you struck it.

I'd recommend going Shadow Dancer, just because that's what you've been working on and it does continue to epic level, unless you can think of a reason your character would go back to being a rogue. The only thing you need to know for epic level is that everyone gets the same base and attack bonuses added to their previous ones. It's all listed in the Epic Level Handbook.
Actually guys, I've done a bit of thinking and hold off on levelling just yet if you haven't mucked with it yet. I'll walk you through it at the beginning of the session, just so everyone's on the same page.
If you want to load it up into the character section of the dropbox, I'll give it a look over. It's fine if you already did it, I was just attempting to simplify things a bit.
I'll probably still go over it tomorrow. No biggie. I just didn't really do anything especially...you know...epic with my epic class level. That's all.
OH! The pineapple! I've never even considered carving one of those! I bet the pulp is delicious.
It's actually still in our freezer right now. Hollowing out a pineapple is a huge pain in the ass, which I attempted to do with a melon baller at first. In the end, I wound up having to scrub under my fingernails and claw it out by hand. On the plus side, it's the perfect consistency for banana splits.
I was so excited to do the pineapple. I'd thought of it months earlier, thought it would be hilarious, and that nobody would ever think of such a thing. Then I went to the store to get a pineapple the day before Halloween and there was an advertisement next to the pineapples suggesting carving one.
Oh, and I learned the hard way that you have to carve it before you hollow it. I did one for Telltale's Halloween contest two weeks before this one, and the skin flexed so much I couldn't carve any detail into it. The awesome face two weeks later was so much easier.
The KotOR2 pic is a nice pick for a necromancer theme. d: Though, now I wonder what ungodly combination a necromancer time lord would be. Hmmm. TO FANFICTION.NET!

If you can concieve it, there is probably a slash fiction incorporating your idea in fanfiction.net, Pit of Voles.
Not to say there isn't decent stuff there as well, but there is an awful lot of...well, godawful stuff.
Oh lord I know! But fresh pineapple is the only pineapple worth eating.
Let me rephrase that: hollowing out a pineapple in the same manner as a pumpkin is a huge pain in the ass. I used to have trouble cutting pineapple, but thanks to Youtube, I can easily dice a pineapple now, as long as I don't care about keeping the skin intact (see: any time other than Halloween). And you're right, fresh pineapple is the only way to eat pineapple, and I'm now realizing that I haven't had one since last summer. I need to fix this.

Oh and apologies for double posting as well.

Also, some D&D humor you may or may not have seen, with riffing by Spoony. Enjoy.

By the way, I didn't just find that on the internet, carving those was the highlight of my Halloween last year.
I'm scared. This is saying something.
Defend me, minions!
Now, for added fun, try to guess which one I am!
Damn! You're good. I didn't even have a Tardis as my profile pic! (I was considering this, you know).

So yeah, how about that D&D?

Last Minute Addendum: I am also wondering about a Time Lord Jedi now.

Found tons of Time Lord Jedi stuff. d: Silly internet, Time Lords don't NEED to be Jedis. They are already Lords of Time.
You fix that pineapple! Fix it so it can never harm another loved one!
Maybe they do it for fun?
