We're all level six guys, make sure to level up for the next game. I will be in Neustadt, Germany for four days starting around Friday netx week so, just a reminder, no game next week. After that it'll be at our usual time of 8 PM GMT on Friday.
If it makes you feel any better, you're not alone. We only had four players this time (mgrant, Giant Tope, corruptbiggins, and me) and 1-2 audience members (Comrade Pants and, for a while, Icedhope).
And you guys'll never believe this, but the four of us fought a Beholder and wiped the floor with it.

Hey, I had a date and my charachter was killed...so sue me.
Crap, I'm not going to be there next Friday. I'm going to be going to Rockies opening day with my dad, so I don't know if I'll be back before you guys finish, and I'm definitely going to miss the rest of the Narwhal crew.
Cool. Looking forward to it now that I'm back in the comforts of my own home after staying at my parents house for the last 12 days looking after their dogs which also means I shouldn't be interrupted much!
Hey guys, just something I thought of. I know Tope's already got plans for taking a prestige class and I've been futzing with Karis on that, but I don't think I really touched on it much for those of you who haven't played much before. Either before next session, or if there's a time that works for everyone, I'd like to take some time and just sort of talk about the options you have a available to you, how prestiging works, etc. Let me know what would work better for you.
Yeah, I started out planning to take Archmage, then decided a couple weeks ago to go after Arcane Archer instead. I know about the requirements, but I don't know what happens when I've got them fulfilled. I figured I'd ask about it when the time came.
Okay, so it sounds like the game plan will be dedicating the first section of the session on Friday to looking at prestige classes and explaining how that works. It's actually fairly simple, although some of the prestige classes have restrictions on them. We'll deal with that come Friday.
Just a note, if we get through everything I planned, you guys will be getting some good fights in some new environments. You guys might want to take a look at Sandstorm and Stormwrack if at all possible (if it was on Scribd, I'd provide a link, but unfortunately the environment books of Sandstorm, Stormwrack and Frostburn are some of the few 3.5. books they don't have on that site) if not I'll just have to include a brief rundown on environment fighting the way I did during the first round of Ship based combat.
When do you do this? I'd really be interested in checking it out, if for no other reason then to play D&D without the usual band of idiots I'm stuck playing with.
Blegh, it almost looked like I was going to get tomorrow off from landscaping (my dad's on vacation this week, so it's been all day every day), but now my dad's panicking because he doesn't think he'll get as much as he wants before his vacation's over. Never mind that there's going to be more to do afterward no matter what we get done, he just always does this when he starts running out of time.
So...yeah. There's a slight chance of rain at some point tomorrow, and there's a couple things he wants to do that I don't have to be present for, so there's a chance I'll be there tomorrow, otherwise I may not get on until around the end of the game or the post-game stragglers' chat.
And right after I posted that, I was reminded that today's my dad's birthday, which I knew was coming up but forgot about in all the landscaping. So yeah, today's really not looking good.
First announcement: Due to Facebook being a huge bitch and not letting me access my messages for a week, my IRL D&D group decided without my input to meet tomorrow. We'll be finishing up by 7:00 P.M. GMT, but I'm DMing for my IRL group, so between getting my laptop set back up and feeding myself I'll be anywhere from an hour to a half hour late.
Second announcement: The end of this campaign has been officially written up. We won't get to it for a few sessions, but I'd like for you guys to think about what you'd like to do next. We can continue with these characters on a new adventure, or we could take a break, play another campaign and come back to them for a higher level campaign. It's up to you guys, so let me know what you're thinking.
I would definitely like to use these characters some more, but I wouldn't mind doing something different for a while first. Now I'm wishing I could remember some of those other campaigns you've mentioned along the way, but the only one that comes to mind is Persona, and while I wouldn't have a problem with a Persona campaign, I also know exactly nothing about Persona, so it's also not like a Persona campaign is anything for me to get any more excited than usual over.
I do remember you mentioning a possible campaign that I thought would be awesome, and now I can't for the life of me remember what it was.
I definitely want to keep doing this. I would love to try other games and a different character too, but my elf is my first, he will always hold a special place in my heart.
Are people still interested in doing this as player numbers have dwindled a fair bit, and it just gets harder with less players (plus it's quieter as I for one don't talk much).
I haven't been coming as my family works long hard days and nights and I want them to be able to come home and watch TV and relax however they feel content. They can't do that if I'm on D&D chatting, but I can come back and play if using the text is easy enough, which I have my doubts about. Most of the time I played before I was by myself, but having that happen on a Friday during the spring-summer is impossible.
Well, mgrant's schedule is about to free up, and changing the day/time might be an option worth looking into, since we seem to have more than a few schedule conflicts.
I'm still enjoying myself with this, but there's no denying that it's not the same with so few people and with certain people missing.
Rem, your schedule I believe is the most restrictive at the moment, and you are one of the regulars, so I need to ask what works for you. My last skill exam is early morning Tuesday, so after that I'll be working on my Dissertation and looking for a job, neither of which are very inhibiting for me.
Pretty much I have the same limits as last time: Monday, Saturday and Sunday evenings are out, and though I do run a group on Thurs, we finish up around 11 P.M., so if there are no objections to starting at that time, I could run a game immediately afterwards.
Either way, after we finish up this campaign, I have a proposition for a semi-short epic level campaign if you guys don't mind changing gears for a bit. It'll involve Godslaying, that's all I'll say at the moment.
Comments
Agreed. Also kudos to Tope and her conversation with that mind flayer!
i want to know what it is
even if it means getting lit on fire and taking 54 damage to find out
Seriously, I felt like total crap. I can't wait for two weeks from now so I can be there for the awesome.
And you guys'll never believe this, but the four of us fought a Beholder and wiped the floor with it.

No...don't sue me...I'm broke.
And Iced, need I remind you? Bros before hoes!

Oh, and here's where I downloaded the 3.5 player handbook from, in case anyone else has trouble with Scribd like I did.

Won't be here this week, remember
