Haha no, can't say anything more. You guys are asking all these questions and we haven't even announced anything yet.
Annoucement of an annoucement is still an annoucement!
Anyways, my 5 guesses. I'm going to take a wild stab and say these are 5 "new" IPs for Telltale. I don't expect to hear about Sam and Max 5, Puzzle Agent Season Pie or Monkey Island..errr.. 6.
At least 2 if not 3 of the games are pilot games from original ips we will never be able to guess because they are original. Duh.
1 will be Walking Dead. Even the timing makes sense with how Telltale releases series. Even series creator Robert Kirkman mentioned he wanted a Walking Dead videogame.
1 will be Tex Murphy (ok, this is my wishful thinking damn it)
1 will be more kid focus. I don't know. Either something Anime or Archie comics based.
I have never met a child who liked Archie comics.... I do not think I have met many adults who like Archie comics... but seeing as it seems to sell well there must be some fans... I have never understood why myself.
I used to like anime... but I think once I got well into my mid to late 20's it stopped being appealing to me... now with my 20's behind me I have no real desire to watch or play anime things... every once in a while I check one out but usually am disappointed.
There are three specific anime I can see working besides that-
Detective Conan
Lupin the 3rd
Cowboy Bebop
I just don't see current Telltale doing something as niche as anime, especially since they would have to market it to Japan as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think they do.
I've been thinking about what the games could be all day, and the more I think about it, the more I am convincing myself that Monkey 6 must be one of them. This in turn is making me really very excited. Telltale - you wouldn't want to burst my bubble and disappoint me, would you?

...you know, I have to say that I would love to see a Telltale Lupin III series even more than I would love a second season of Tales.
My god Fawful, if you're a Lupin fan then WE HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON. That's quite a scary thought.
Honestly, I WILL be let down if ToMI Season 2 is not one of the announcements. I'm always hoping that Telltale will announce it with their next due announcement, but we've heard nothing yet. Now they're due to announce five projects, so I really hope that one of them does end up being a TMI2. If it's not announced in February, it won't be announced any time soon either, given these other five projects.

Hell, It'd great if they went and got Outlaw Star!
It's the bloody anime equivalent of FireFly! The series ended on a bit of a cliffhanger that they were going to go after something else and that was that, it didn't come back.
Well quite a bit of freelance police got put into season one if I recall corectly, but it would be cool to see where it would have actually went.
I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure nothing planned for Freelance Police (except the episodic format, of course) ended up in Telltale's episodes.
I don't really see why we need Freelance Police specifically to come back, though. I mean, yeah, it sucked that it was cancelled, but it was supposed to be an episodic Sam and Max game with each episode linked together by an overarching plot. Telltale's basically given us Freelance Police three times over already.

because of the voices and the great animation ... have you seen Max shaving his b**t (I don't know if I should censor it or not)? Just look at the amazing animation ...
also, because we're curious ...

I remember this from a thread on this very site, but I doubt I'd be able to find it now, but I think the entire hypnotism theme and Sybil herself were from it.
Ha... it's funny how an announcement of an announcement can create such a flurry of wild speculation.
There's only one game that I think HAS to be one of the five games, and that's Monkey Island series 2. Tales was so successful for them that I can't imagine that they won't go back to it within the next five releases. If they don't, I think they are all big ol' bed-wetting doodie heads.
Of all the speculation in this thread, I think the best (and most plausible) suggestion is Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. It has never been done properly in movies or video games and it would fit in nicely with TTG's humor and adventure gameplay.

As nice as it would be to see Telltale do Hitchhiker's, I've got to disagree with it never being done properly in video games. The Infocom text adventure was written by none other than Douglas Adams himself.
...Granted, it was also absurdly difficult even by old-timey adventure game standards, but that added to the amusement.
I was just saying the other day that one of the few obsessions of mine that Telltale hasn't tapped yet is The Tick. I don't know that I'd call it "recently released" or "Popular" but they DID start a new series a year ago that's pretty good, even without Edlund.
So I know it probably won't be, but if Telltale really DOES have recording devices planted around my house, like I've long suspected, then it could happen. :^)

Might not be only Telltale's decision to make this game. LucasArts owns the rights to it, and if they say no, then it won't be made.

ah those simpler times when the anime on television wasn't completely unbearable
If they can't get Chloë Annett, then only if they don't use Kochanski. I think a Red Dwarf game without Kochanski would work far better than another actress playing her.
I honestly can't think of anything in recently-launched TV that is also in comics. The only other thing I can think of is Pushing Daisies, which ended during the Writer's Strike but is getting a comic book adaptation. Basically, the inverse of the "old comic, but new TV show" thing that Walking Dead has going for it.
Ooh, I would LOVE a Pushing Daisies game. It certainly fits the "life changing" description, and I think the show's visual style would translate perfectly to an animated adventure game.
In the unlikely but wonderful event that it IS Pushing Daisies, they MUST bring Jim Dale back as the narrator. The rest of the cast is also important, but more negotiable.
Well the only other show I can think of other than The Walking Dead that is also a comic that has not been outright canceled is Human Target But I have not read the comics or watched the show...

Ooh, there's an idea! "There's a Monkey on my Conveyor Belt!" A new twist on the old classic!

Death Note would be an ideal one.

OH, THERE'S A(nother) MONKEY IN MY POCKET, AND HE'S STEALING ALL MY CHANGE (again)...
HIS STARE'S STILL BLACK AND GLASSY, NOW HE HAS TO BE DERANGED
*sheds giant tear*
Lupin especially would be AMAZING.
You want a "Three Investigators" Adventure?
Hmm... why not
BTT - My wishes for 2 of the 5 announcements:
1. Tales of Monkey Island - Season 2
2. Tales of the Tentacle (DOTT Sequel)
Strong Bad 2.
Sam & Max 4.
Puzzle Agent 2.
FUTURAMA.
That is all.

There, I said it. Feel free to get your tomatoes ready...
(As for the other four, I'm thinking Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People 2 and Tales of Monkey Island 2 are among them.)
So...five new projects! Look at you guys!
seriously man why do you keep up with this? Bill farmer and Nick Jameson just aren't going to come back no matter how much you whine. just accept it.
Hell, It'd great if they went and got Outlaw Star!

3. Sam & Max Season 2 - PS3
4. Poker Night - X-Box
5. Poker Night - PS3
There you have it!
OH GOD!.... you might be right... how heart breaking would that be, if that was their big announcement?
Hahaha! Don't worry, it's not.
I wasn't talking about them, I was talking about Freelance Police. Okay?

Clearly you don't remember the trailer for the announcement of Poker Night at the Inventory.

"CSI: Tales of Sam and Max - Puzzle Agents - 's Future Game for Gromit at the Inventory Park"
Oh, God. It's not going to be bloody "Torchwood" is it?!
*cough* C. P. Grogan

No. Bad Fitzoliver.
