I've often thought that Scrubs would be a good one. And "Tru Calling" would work well in point and click, and it also sounded like it was really going to pick up when the second season started but we never managed to see what the creators had planned on account of it being cancelled, so it seems like a game would be a good way to carry on the storyline.
Telltale should make a videogame based on the movie based on the boardgame of BattleShips
So BattleShips: The Movie: The Video Game! XD
EDIT:
Imagine a Red Dwarf series of adventure games.
Now that would be wacky!
(Maybe set it in one of the VR games. They get stuck there, and you have to help them escape, and prevent some kind of external overlaying problem, like Holly going crazy or something)
i find myself wondering if there will ever be another full throttle game, now that it's been 17 years since the first one came out. does anybody know who owns the license? i would have thought telltale would have jumped at it if it was available... anybody know what's up with that?
Besides, a Full Throttle without Roy Conrad is no Full Throttle at all.
I know this might be blasphemous, but I'm pretty sure another actor could fill the role of Ben sufficiently. Roy Conrad was marvelous, no doubt, but I wouldn't say he's completely irreplaceable. It's just a matter of finding the right replacement, and not just hiring the first low-pitched, gravelly-voiced actor they find.
Yes... that's true.. oh! Wait! I've a better idea....
what if they could make episodic games of Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of The War of the Worlds?!?!?! Yeah! That has a lot more adventure value! And, since a new version is being released soon, the voice actors should be easier to reach!
I think it is awesome that Telltale has revived the point and click adventure genre as it has always been one of my favourites. I'll be honest, I didn't much care for 'Back to the Future' or 'Jurassic park' but I really thought they nailed 'Tales of Monkey Island' (might be nostalgic for me though) and I was blown away by 'The Walking Dead' I would honestly rate it a 9/10 and can't wait for the future episodes.
I'm very happy to hear that they have obtained the license to remake 'King's Quest' a Sierra classic point and click. I'm curious if anyone has any other idea's for other point and click adventure games.
I think Tell Tale should take a crack at a 'Star Trek' adventure game. In my opinion there has never been a Star Trek game that actually captured what made the series so great. Good stories and great characters, every recent attempt at Star Trek has been solely based on combat which in reality was a very small part of any of the television series.
Anyone else have any ideas for some new point and click games?
Personally, I was very impressed with the job they did on Back to the Future and Jurassic Park, which are both Universal properties. I understand they also have Law & Order, which is also Universal. Taking that into consideration, I think Telltale could reinvigorate and renew interest in my favorite show of all time: Quantum Leap! Imagine if they could work with Don Bellisario as a consultant and actually get Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell to reprise their roles via voiceover. I can almost guarantee the QL community would get on board with this 100%! In fact, I personally know the person who helped coordinate the 2009 Leap Back Convention in LA (which Don and Scott attended).
Another series that could possibly be done well would be Sliders. Both of these series have huge cult followings. I'd love to see what Telltale could do with these properties!
So, what do you all think? And what else would you like to see?
We have a thread for these things here. I believe someone mentioned Sliders before too(if not here, in another thread offhand), so it doesn't look like you're alone on that.
Sorry, there are a lot of threads here, don't really have the time to look through all of them. But thank you, I will look there. Maybe a mod could merge my comment with that thread?
-- Piers Anthony's Xanth universe (I know it was adapted before to middling success, but the style and sense of pun-based humor still appeals)
I was introduced to Xanth through the "Companions of Xanth" game... the version I got came with a free Xanth book. Not my most favourite game ever, but there were too many awesome/terrible puns for me not to like it. I love how the world operates on the figurative rather than literal versions of phrases (e.g. physically kicking "the bucket" ends in a game over because the character died). I'd definitely play another Xanth adventure game.
With Prometheus coming out it would be nice to have a Alien adventure game. With multiple choices and death scenes like The Walking Dead
I kind of feel like that realm is being covered by the "Dead Space" series these days, with exploration and story elements layered into an action game. But there were a lot of Alien-inspired adventure games back in the day, like Death Dreadnaught and ARC -- with more emphasis on atmosphere than actual confrontations with the xenomorphs. Would be interesting to see a modern take on the idea.
Because the BBC holds the license and isn't letting Telltale make any games with it.
To be honest, if Telltale did make any, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they turned out like The Adventure Games - IE: not very good. TT hasn't been on a particularly good streak lately, what with its 'causal' gamer targeting and all.
That's a question that has been asked many times before, and has never been given a satisfactory answer. It's probably down to the BBC being reluctant to license it out to an overseas company with staff who didn't necessarily grow up with it. And then there's the difficulty in them still having a hand in plot development, and getting the actor in to do voices.
It really, really needs to happen. I can only hope that when the current batch of licenses ttg has runs out, it'll become a reality, in time for the anniversary.
Another big shame is that because the BBC had a business relationship with Character Options, they let them do their own knockoff of Lego with a Dr Who theme, rather than actual Lego.
Indeed. I have said, time and again, that a Lego Doctor Who game would be amazing. Plus, with so many Doctors, you could easily get 4, maybe 5 games from the franchise. Like so.
You are just too damn fast! Faster than my "merge threads" finger anyway.
Which finger is your merge threads finger? The little one on the left hand?
I bet you looked at it then. BEHOLD MY PSYCHIC POWERS.
OT: Telltale should totally make a game based on making a game. You have to find the objects to motivate the staff to work. Or something. Like coffee, or ponies.

(And yes, that IS real.)
My Reaction
... How can this be a video game about battleships when there are no battleships present it's indistinguishable from every other alien shooter?
Actually, that's a lie. The bit they showed looked almost exactly like the Normandy invasion from Medal of Honor.
2) LucasArts owns the IP. This means 1).
3) Telltale would have to deal with the license owners. See 2).
no full throttle game is like no full throttle game at all

If TellTale got their hands on it it would all be all quick time event saucepans to the face.

-- Mighty Mouse (the character is such a cipher, barely appearing in his own cartoons, that there should be lots of room to reinvent him and have fun)
-- Piers Anthony's Xanth universe (I know it was adapted before to middling success, but the style and sense of pun-based humor still appeals)
-- Trots & Bonnie (Shary Flenniken's old National Lampoon comic strip)
-- Something based on Gary Panter's artwork
-- Li'l Abner (Al Capp's smart, verbal and hilarious vintage newspaper strip)
