But seriously. I really would like to play Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks at least once, but I have little need for a DS otherwise. I do have my GameCube's GameBoy Player for other GameBoy games, but there's no set-top console port for DS games.
Maybe there will be one when the WiiU comes out....
I find all this griping at SHODANFreeman to be a bit annoying. I welcome a contrasting opinion. Else things end up getting stale. It's nice to be able to have a debate, and I think the problem is mainly with the tone of SHODAN's post being misinterpreted (such is the way of the internet, I'm afraid). The only post that mildly annoyed me was the music one. The music IS fantastic, regardless of whether it's based around an older tune (which the composer wrote anyway) backwards with lots of fanfare. The tune even ties a bit into the pre-quelness of the game. So I'm taking that comment as satire.
Having said all that, I can see things from the thread creators point of view. I'd hate it if someone came into the doctor who thread routinely saying how awful everything is about it (that's for us to say! We have a mini-community there.).
So can we just say we're sorry to everyone and put it all behind us?
On Topic: Skyward sword seems to be running out of steam for me. The water temple and the
pirate ship
were awesome temples (possibly the best in any zelda game), but I find myself no longer excited to play it. (Like I feel no urge to go pick it up now, and probably won't get round to playing it again till wednesday). The last temple (fire number 2) was boring too. And the boss was a repeat of that of the first temple.
I defended Shodan until he claimed that the posts in this thread are more interesting than the ones in the Skyrim thread. I take that as a personal insult.
What have you written Shodan, that's more interesting than my posts here (#189 and #191)?!....
... You also point to the fact there's more posts in the Zelda thread than the Skyrim one as some kind of proof! Uh, that probably due to the Zelda thread being completely derailed by your inane nonsense. I can't believe I defended such an idiot!

Anyways, keep your Skyrim tomfoolery to yourself sir! This thread's about ickle babby Zelda games, not manly testosterone Elder Scrolls games!
Wait, what? I find the motion controls of Skyward Sword to be quite responsive and intuitive. Your opinion that it's fact that analog sticks are better doesn't fit with your previous statement.
You clearly misread my post. It isn't arguable that motion controls are slower and less precise than analog. It's completely fact. It isn't my opinion. You can't swing your arm faster than you can press a button. Unless, of course, you defy the laws of physics frequently.
I didn't say that it is impossible to use, prefer, or enjoy motion controls. I said, quite simply, they are inferior as far as response is concerned. This cannot be argued against, because you literally cannot swing your hand faster than you can press a button, and a button press can NEVER be misread by the controller, unless your controller is malfunctioning.

Maybe it's quicker to push a button, but Skyward Sword has obviously been balanced with motion controls in mind, what with less enemies but more challenging combat.
I don't wanna go down the motion control route again though, that's a very well travelled road already.

I'm just clarifying my post, since it was clearly misunderstood what I was getting at.
I don't care if people like them or not, or if they work perfectly for everyone in the world but me. They don't work for me.

I actually liked fighting Ghirahim again. I like a bad guy that's not just in the background laughing maniacally as he sends his goons to do his dirtywork.
Yes, I know that technically Ghirahim IS the goon doing the dirtywork, but that's not my point.
The parts following the Fire Sanctuary(not temple...there were only two temples: Skyview and Earth) are kinda slow. Playing it through Hero Mode, I'm actually taking time to do some side quests before jumping back into the story. Again, the parts immediately after the fire dungeon slow down a little, but the story picks back up pretty fast.
I actually went to college with a guy with no hands. He was able to manipulate a dual analog controller reasonably well (surprisingly well, all things considered), but obviously he was pretty unhappy with the Wii's direction. I'm sure the demographic of people who can use traditional controllers but not motion controllers is relatively small, but certainly not nonexistent.
Also, on a mostly unrelated note, I tried to use the new "download later" feature to queue up all the ambassador games, and I don't know how it's supposed to work, but I left it in sleep mode for an hour and a half and came back to ten games all sitting at 0% downloaded. Lovely.
I find myself wondering how to qualify my favorite Zelda games now.
Before Skyward Sword, if you had asked me which Zelda game was my favorite, I would have said Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time had tied. Now, as I sit here, I'm not sure which Zelda game is exactly my favorite. Every Zelda game I've played seems to have its strong points, but I find it hard to decide which I like better and why.
It's enough to make me consider playing them all through again, just so I can have a fresh perspective about each game.

For me, it's Skyward Sword followed extremely closely by Ocarina of Time, Link to the Past, and Majora's Mask. The rest...it's hard to decide at times.
I never really preferred Majora's Mask. It's a good game, but it basically requires a strategy guide to be able to get through the Bomber's Notebook. The other Zelda games have collectibles and such, but Majora's Mask's side quests are too complicated and interspersed with each other for me to know/remember when to be where in order to do what on my own.
This. I could finish the game 100% without a guide, with the possible exception of the Stray Fairies, as long as I don't do my 8 cycle run.
It is funny that you can obliterate the guy that steals the bomb bag from the old lady by shooting him.
I just recently learned this and have yet to try it, but yes, that is amazing. Am I wrong, or is this the only instance where you actually get to kill a non-enemy NPC in the Zelda series?
Zelda Dungeon posted a video they found of a guy who did a 6 heart, no-shield run through Skyward Sword's Boss Rush in Hero Mode. OBVIOUS END-BOSS SPOILERS!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't mind him coming back. It was just the battle was pretty much identical to the one at the start, only harder.

At least it wasn't easier. That could've very easily been the case. And each battle against the Imprisoned added something new to the dynamic.
Played a little Minish Cap during my lunch hour...I'd forgotten how loud Ezlo's yell was. I'm now torn between which is more annoying, his "QUACK!" or Navi's "HEY!"

1a) Link to the Past 1b) Ocarina of Time
2) Link's Awakening
3) Wind Waker

Wind Waker would be higher on my list if it had been a bit longer, and if the Triforce quest didn't require you to have massive amounts of Rupees to give Tingle.

Not problem for me; the Savage Labyrinth is your friend. I get tons of money from doing that.
Well, damn. Almost finished Sword and Shield Maze and my battery died. Luckily, I'd saved after the miniboss, so I shouldn't have to do too much over again. Time to toss the SP on the charger and Seasons into the Game Boy Player.
And in case you guys hadn't heard, Nintendo is making a golden nunchuck to go with the gold Wiimote, but it's currently only been announced as a reward for the Japanese version of Club Nintendo. My hopes of having a full gold controller set came that close to coming true.
Of course, I don't have the gold Wiimote or gold Classic Controller Pro yet either...

i'd like that golden nunchuck, but...even if it were to be announced for the US Club Nintendo, I don't have anywhere near enough points.:(
And Chyron, it's less about the availability of rupees and more about the principle of the thing. I shouldn't have to fight my way to a chart, then get it "translated" for un-godly amounts of currency by that crazy...man-child-...thing....then sail out to find the Triforce piece. It's the principle of the thing.
I just cashed in almost all of my points on the Game & Watch replica (which is AWESOME), but thanks to my 3DS purchase, I have just over half of the points I'd need if they put the nunchuck out here.
Not so! The latest firmware update added the ability to transfer your account between DSis and 3DSes. You just would've needed to be allowed to open your new Zelda 3DS in the store and transfer your account before the old one was put away.
I was talking to Nintendo support and they were like no...because some of the games aren't released and will probably not be released...and then I was put on for like 20 minutes but I was listening to Zelda music so it was cool...but I found out at work today that someone else had tried it and failed massively.
Can you still get them? I haven't seen a single one since Black Friday. I've seen plenty of Mario bundles, but no Zelda.
Edit: Finished Oracle of Seasons. Starting Four Swords: Anniversary Edition. And I have to say, I'm extremely impressed with how they handled single player mode.
It's a free version of the original Four Swords created for the 25th Anniversary. It includes a single player mode and new levels inspired by the classic games.

Fair enough K-Mart.
Tempted to crack into Minish Cap, but I resolve to clear Skyward Sword first. I haven't had a good session of it in nearly a week.
My 3DS and Wii are both 80 miles away from me right now, so neither of them are going to be played by me for the next few days.
