It just seems to me that the company has decided since it already has the season holders money its time to cozy up to new money/the xboxers who can only pay for each ep as released. we (pc/ps3 users) are just the greedy kids who are impatiently asking are we there yet only to be left in the hot car once we have arrived....but don't worry daddy will be back to get your complaining ass in about 2 days. be good! I have held my tongue but money is the only answer i can come up with that makes sense. Maybe I'm just an idiot or maybe they are trying to force those of you who already have the pc version to then also invest in the xbox version, thus doubling their money (for that ep anyway.) if you wanna hurt them for real then lots of people should give poor review for this game and dissuade anyone else from giving up their money for an unfinished game that at this rate wont be out til 2013 sometime. Sorry for throwing up on the page like this but god dang, i wanna play it and it feels like they are holding it hostage even though i have waited patiently for episode 2 since the day they released ep 1. Great game but telltale u failed. you made a creatively great game but you forgot to use the one thing you ought to have already known about (tho possibly not)...COMMON SENSE!!!! people love your game and even defend or wait patiently just to end up angry like those that were impatient from day 1. hope your servers all fry and your game is never released so that u will feel your wallet dry up slowly and disappear. have fun being homeless when the walkers come for you telltale. they are starved for flesh...developer flesh;)
Think you might have gone a little over board mate. But yeah, like many dlc, Xbox gets it first because that's one of the features you pay for when you get Xbox live.

I only paid 1$ for ep. 1 and going to pay the same for ep. 2 :p

And btw, ep.3 should be released in the next month, right?

I'm excited for Ep 2! Friday is a good release date, gives me the weekend to replay EP 1 then 2 a few times. After that I'll talk in here about how epic (we allready know) EP 2 is. Then Monday I'll be in here bitching for Ep 3 and I might even troll some one!
For real though, I was/am frustrated with the release date fiasco but Im ready for Friday!
    Thank You TTG.

I personally think that TTG has lost my support until they can learn to treat their pre-orders with more respect. I am also left wondering why I even bothered pre-ordering. There was absolutely no benefit to it for me. None. I could not care less about their retarded contest. I ended up paying more than others payed on other consoles. What benefit did I get?

This is beyond absurd and I'm going to be on the same bandwagon as others now...there was no benefit to buying this game from TTG directly, so I will not be doing so any more. If I want to get a game from them, I'll wait til steam has a sale on it. This is my last serenade.

Just woke up (8:00am Adelaide time) to find release dates announced for PC. Awesome. c:

Though, why are PC users needing to wait?

I always respected your defense of TTG (didn't like it) but now you can see the shear frustration of the vast majority up until now. Even now, they continue to make what I would consider easily avoidable mistakes and errors in judgement.

It's like they never even glanced at the forums to check the pulse of their and fan base. Shear disrespect for the "supporters" of their episodic platform.

What's funny is that I wasn't even bothered by the 2 month delay.

But after learning that the PC version was going to be released after the 360 version, I couldn't help but laugh.

    That's pretty low.
2 months delay?? It was supposed to be released originally in may and telltale is known for releasing at end of the months. How is that 2 months?? It has only been about a month delay.

WINNERS: By a random D10 die roll (disregarding numbers 8-9-0 for the first and 0 for the second) we have our winners!

The_Ripper and trueblue43 will receive a commission for correctly guessing the date!

It isn't frustration that fuel my response. It's the salt in the wound.

Okay, I kept quiet until now 'cause I know myself how hard it is to keep release dates and out of respect for my fellow Walking Dead fans on this forum. But this... I just need to vent my frustration with these news (and I'm sure many have done before me).

This is simply unbelievable. There is NO SINGLE REASON why they would not AT LEAST have released all three versions at the same time, except for greedy exclusive deals with Microsoft. First they say that there's a problem with the console certifications - not that that has ANYTHING to do with the PC release - but now they artificially delay the episode that should've alreay BEEN released ONE MONTH AGO even further for everybody who doesnt have this or that console, even the customers who HAD to pay up front the whole 20+ dollars in good faith - faith that has now been irrecovably lost, thanks to this. THIS is how you DESTROY customer relations. This is how you probably even drive people to piracy - people who would otherwise gladly support your company.
I'm just baffled at the moment. Disgusted at Telltale even. I'm sorry if I've been a little harsh, but this... this is just... **** and I feel treated like it too. Personally, I plan on not buying anything from Telltale again in the future.

What's another 2 days to play on a much better system that I don't have to pay to play every year. Xbox lover's r such dumb dumbs bend ova hear comes Microsoft. Lol
  • edited June 2012
Delaying the release of a product for a single systems certification. Then delaying all the systems that allow prepay to cater to the one system that doesn't?

Ok actually I can understand the first part a little...I'm annoyed by it, but a release on all systems is ideal for the company. Though after that to delay ALL the other systems but that one that held everything up to begin with? Haven't we been waiting long enough because of xbox? Or is it because you already have our money? I've said it in other threads...Horrible business practices. I will definitely not buy another telltale product and I will recommend others avoid doing so as well.

You should buy Word from Microsoft. You can even install it on a PC running Windows (you know- the Microsoft operating system) and it comes with a great spellchecker. Might come in handy when you're attempting to call other people dumb, without looking too dumb yourself.

Sorry, yes, a little over a month. I was probably thinking it was released early April. The delay wasn't an issue with me, though, heh.

Anyway, thanks for pointing out the error, I've fixed the post.

Lol U mad people? just kidding, I'm mad too. This game isn't even available in my region. Microsoft likes their timed exclusives, expect the next 3 episodes to be released like this as well. In the end it's always going to be about one thing.

What are you talking about? We got Episode 1 3 days after PC got it and 2 days, I think, after PS3. Deal with it.

I said it before but I'll say it again: TTG knows it has to deal with certification, and I seriously doubt the huge delay is due to certification. If you want to point fingers, at least do so in the right direction. TTG failed to release in time due to bad planning on their own part, and not because of certification.

I do however see and understand that PC gamers that paid up full in advance are feeling screwed over. They should have had the Episode before any other platform.

My view on this whole 'debacle' (because it's really a nothing issue but anyway) is that Telltale wanted to release all the versions on Friday but Microsoft said no even though they let the first episode get released on a Friday. So with their usual release day being Wednesday I believe Telltale had a choice - either the Wednesday before or the Wednesday after. Either choice makes someone unhappy and I guess they went for the choice that lets them stick to the release plan of June as well as have the shortest gap between the various releases.

Now people crying 'why not move your own release you *************' and I guess the best answer is that everything is already set up for a Friday release (server stuff as well as the staff being prepared) and so with what looks to be like very short notice they'd prefer a stable release on the day they've planned for rather than mess up a quicker release just to stop people whinging. Of course even then PSN users would be even more annoyed.

Finally the whole EU PSN thing is totally out of Telltale's hands, that's down to Sony.

And it doesn't frustrate you when a company (whom you defended vehemently), that SHOULD HAVE treated you like the valued customer that you are, has poured salt in your wounds amongst other violations of consumer trust?

    Perhaps both?

Somehow I though you might respond like that, but I'm done now.

    Here's to waiting, cheers!

I have lived my entire life dealing with frustration. This is not frustration but simply a stab in the back. Its betrayal. Its lack of respect for the fan base that made them who they are. Microsoft sales didn't make a name for TTG. PSN sales didn't either.

The bulk of the people who made TTG the success they are has been PC gamers. And now how to we rate on their importance scale? I'm thoroughly offended.

I'm not suggesting that the entire delay was due to xbox, but its obvious that we have recently been on hold due to them. Telltale has been messing up consistantly throughout this whole process. That is not a good message to send to a first time customer...which I'm sure they have a lot of due to walking deads popularity.

I hope you sent them an email (I did). I will continue to needle them until I get a response. If nothing else I want them to know I will never forget how I and many others have been treated over the coarse of the release and that I WILL NOT FORGET.

    K, now I'm done....for now

I thought at E3 they said they're getting ready to submit to Microsoft AND Sony. Now why is Microsoft only being blamed? Did I miss an official statement saying Microsoft's certification process was longer than Sony's? And I feel bad for you PC guys because you did HAVE to pay for the season pass but just think all the more satisfying it will be when you get to finally play it!

Didn't they say they were hoping for a same release day on all platforms? What happened to that?

You're one to talk. You do realize the point of paying for XBL is for secure online servers, right? Not just to play online.
