Out of curiosity did they do anything about it? I was under the impression that they wanted to avoid patching

When I turned on my PS3 one day, I got a message from PS+ that an update had been downloaded and installed....

HM. Inn two days, it'll be over 2 months since ep 2 was released....

the xbox left stick sensitivity issue being one..people buying the game on pc with out checking the spec first/driver updates..

Yes those people are silly, I have lots of them on Facebook going nuts when it just comes down to them not being good at the game.

I get that the game is being "Certified" right now by xbox/ps3/steam teams, but what I don't REALLY understand is why I bought a PC version direct from the TT website and I have to wait for those other shitty services to get prepared to release the game, in order to enjoy my own copy.

I recall last episode, the game didnt even release the same day for all systems. So why stall the game release longer for those of us who bought from TT directly?(Funny thing, those of us who did make such a purchase were stuck waiting behind the xbox/steam fanboys who got the game way before any of us.)

This is my first post on these boards, but I've been visiting for quite some time. I've been fed up since episode 2, and I truly hope TWD doesn't stick around with this company and it's poor business policies(allowing consumers to pay fully for an unfinished product, lying about release times/windows, ignoring a community of players with legitimate complaints)

    I'll just stop here.

Never before in my life playing games have I felt more like a consumer and less like a player.

    Congrats on that Telltale.

How long does it take to certify a game? Are there any steps after that?

Actually, they have given us a few updates this time around, through their blog and facebook, telling us everything that they can! They submit the game for certification a few weeks ago so it's been out of their hands.. they're waiting to hear back from their partners on that before they can give us all a much anticipated release date! They even made and update saying something a long the lines of how "a lot of people thought their goal for the game to be ready Mid-August thought that meant a hard release date of Mid-August but they wanted to make clear that wasn't the case". So all we can do is wait now! I'm hoping for an update or something later or tomorrow or soon atleast.

If you blog post of august 10th (mid-august) they state that the game is almost ready to go to submission for sony/microsoft. Never have they stated clearly that it has been submitted. After people misreading what ready was, you have to read the blog carefully, cause they play word games. Please prove me wrong and show a blog, or a post that says they have submitted it for certification. By reading the blog on the tenth carefully, it coukd very well be the news that is coming soon, might just that they finally submitted it. These company is vague on wording, and play word games in order to try to cover thier bad customer service.

If they release it now they wont have a surprise at PAX.

Hoping to see a release date today, otherwise we may be going longer than two months between episodes. Telltale should reconsider the way they release games.

I believe the episode will arrive in the middle of september, not a day eariler. Why would it arrive faster than episode 2?
  • edited August 2012
I don't get why they can't just release it for pc and consoles get it later. I've seen other companies complain in the past about microsoft's slow process when clearing dlc.
  • edited August 2012
Stop complaining !!! Telltale is trying their hardest to make us happy, and what do you guys do cry and complain. Instead you should be thanking them for making such an awesome game. There giving us tons of updates and its not their fault!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please leave telltale alone, they are the greatest video game company I know! Keep on keeping, telltale! <3

I think I saw on IGN from a link on ttg facebook someone posted, that episode 3 will be released some time this week, could be tomorrow, or wensday thursday or friday, I guess telltale isn't even sure about when. But I guess all they know is some time this week.

Why? Because for the people playing on consoles, it would completely ruin the storyline DUH. Do you really think everyone on PC is gonna play through epi 3 than just respect other gamers until we play it though? Please dont be so stupid.

I pity stupid people. If you honestly think tt can release epi 3 on the pc without any people on consoles getting enraged or giving away the story (which is the entire point of the game) away to people who havnt played it, you are one of those people.

It is actually not the case. I have read several times on this forum, that it has somthing to do with Microsoft. Now I do not know, what the prices are on games in US, but in Denmark PC games are way cheaper than console games.

I believe, that a game need some certification for PC to (It is Microsofts system after all). Regardless it doesn't matter, cause it would make perfect sence for Microsoft and Sony to demand a earlier release on the consoles, first and formost because they get a profit to, when someone buy the game for a console. So if you release the game for PC 2 weeks in advance and to a much lower price, it would be almost impossible for the console companies to make money.

Then it is a simple question about number of sold copies and for TTG. Do they want the console money or not? More money equals bigger company and more developers, wich most likely equals better games and maybe even shorter time between realeases in the future.

    So it does make sence:)

Hi. Don't have time to sort through over 1k posts so I'll just ask:
Is there a date or are we still guessing?
I thought they had said mid August but I didn't see it so figure they hit a major snag? Any info sent to my pm would be apreciated.
    Thanks guys.

if they were trying their hardest to keep us happy, they'd be real with us and give us an estimate of when they think the episode will be available. one better than "mid-august" and look its almost the end of august and no definitive timeframe still. They leave us hanging here with no explanations. too many vague blogs. not enough detail.

Perhaps they realized the episode was a little crappy and went to make some last minute changes? As many of us have fallen victim to games that would have been awsoem if they had taken their time and done it right, but was rushed and turned out crappy. So when a release date is pushed back, it's ok. It just means they want you to have the best overall quality gaming experience you can have.

.......Or they coulda just put it off so they could party at PAX? lol who knows
  • edited August 2012
Yeah, as nicely as I can put it I think they're purposely waiting for gaming conventions so they can show the episode off.

Sorry but that seems desperate in my opinion. Anyone that goes to a gaming convention already has the season pass or isn't interested at all.

Valve are more punctual than this. They've pretty much gone back on their word about monthly release.

The is a major lack of communication between TTG and the community. The only thing I've seen is episode 2 being released on iOS. The game is doing much stronger on PC and consoles. So they do need to throw up some news on the main page. Telling us about the state and status on Episode 3.

I'm not complaining about the release date just the lack of communication.

All they need to do is let us know by putting up news on the main page it is fairly simple.

Plus if the PC version is ready for release why not send it out and before if anyone says that PC gamers would put out spoilers you only ever find them if you go looking for them.

I managed to not know a single thing about AC revelations since that had a delayed release on PC let alone Alan Wake American Nightmare.

The game is very enjoyable but you can only play an episode so many times.
