I am aware of that, I'm saying it's still unethical. They can do regional releases or simply use the GMT. It wouldn't hurt. And their work hours have started a LONG time ago now. What are they doing? Playing cards, drinking coffee and saying "ummm, they can wait a bit more hahahah let's just keep them waiting"?
Ger over yourself. It's still 29th for teltale, so they have not lied. Of course they are going to use their own timezone.
yeah! You do that! You stick up for the rich company and tell that customer to get over his entitled self! Paying for something and expecting to recieve it?? What the hell is this guy thinking?? Yeah!
Almost 11pm here in Germany and i'm sittin' in front of my Screen watching Gangnam Style aniticipating TTG's release of Episode 3.... God i'm so happy school starts in 1 1/2 weeks i'm going fucking mental!
Telltale has the experience... in a pretty unique field. Name another company which attempts monthly episodic cross-platform releases! Three... two... one... nope.
You win. I can't name another company that does the kind of game development that TellTale does, therefore, they are not, and should not be, expected to keep their word.
Branching out anything can make anticipating the design and programming workload pretty difficult. A dialogue line here that doesn't fit, an NPC reaction there that would be out of place, a choice combination here that they did not anticipate, a choice algorithm bug there that they're trying to remedy with the next episode. Yup, that takes time.
Okay, I overstated my case there, I must admit. I'd been seeing posts where people used the "choices" excuse, and while I maintain that some people are using it to give TellTale far too much latitude, it was silly of me to dismiss it as trivial. Withdrawn, with my apologies.
Also, the idea that they've "done a ton of episodic multi-platform games" strikes me as a bit of an exaggeration. Only the games from 2010 on attempted to be multi-platform from the start; and you can't deny that the idea of simultaneous releases has only started coming close to working out with TWD. Yup, that also takes time.
I actually wasn't aware of that, so thank you for providing that context.
Yes, Telltale has messed up big time. No disagreement there, so what are you insinuating?
Did what I wrote have the tone of insinuation? If so, I apologize. I thought I was pretty explicit, but I can be more so. Here's what I'm flat-out saying: I've read many posts that employ specious arguments to deny that TT messed up big time. I would like to encourage those people to re-examine the applicability of their reasons for not blaming TT for this fiasco.
Is it easier for you to attribute blame if you disagree with every explanation someone could come up with? Do you NEED to hand out blame so your anger feels more justified?
My anger (which is real, but not as intense as I suspect you believe it is) is justified by continued delays. I'm upset about an unpleasant situation; the unpleasant situation justifies the upset-ness all on its own. I don't need to attribute blame to justify it, but as it happens, this is someone's fault. It's not as if an earthquake hit TT HQ and we have to wait for infrastructure to be rebuilt. TT promised more than they could deliver, and while you've persuaded me that they have less experience than I'd previously thought, they still have more than anyone else, and I still believe that they should have forseen this and adjusted either their promises or their resources to account for it, PRIOR to releasing ep 1.
You guy should do what I'm doing. Play something fun, keep your laptop at your side to keep an eye on the site. Personally I'm playing Sly 3 while listening to podcasts with the telltale website on the screen I like the waiting game
Many thanks and much respect to Vainamoinen and divisionten for not shrinking away given the situation. The temptation must be there and a lot of these comments don't deserve anyone's time.
Any chance you can share some of that backbone with TTG? :P
do you know what telltale, you're a joke. Xbox - delivered as promised, PS3 - delivered as promised. PC - oh wait, "we're too lazy and too stuck up our own arses to deliver that as promised." I'm glad i didnt waste £20+ on Jurassic Park because you don't bloody deserve it, as good a game as it is. And i'll even tell my friend that bought Jurassic Park that he's an idiot for giving you even a penny of that £20.
So far I have been rather impressed by the work of the forum moderators here, but is banning people for mentioning the existence of certain file sharing platforms (while in no way condoning or even encouraging their use) which enable illegal downloads of games standard practice here?

You miss a lot of the whole picture when you think that this has just happened here.
But, just in case, let's say "yes", in accordance with forum rules. We have an absolute no tolerance policy on piracy.

Am I the only one that has noticed that the majority of the people ranting about the release date have less then one hundred posts under their belt, and many of their posts have grammatical and spelling errors(Like many trolls). It may be odd but I think some of the forum members ranting may be under the recommended minimum age of 17(in the US)/16(in the UK/Europe). Just a thought.
Ever notice how you only have 17 posts? Ever notice how you capitalized the "L" in (Like many trolls)?
So you have less than 100 posts, and a grammatical error. How old are you?
The entitlement is strong in this thread. And that's coming from someone who campaigned in favor of the new Mass Effect 3 ending.
Its rightfully so for people like me who paid Telltale in advance and they took our money for all Ep. but yet we cant get the game, but they are letting people who have not paid up front get the game first, that makes no sense what so ever.

So you had two pennies to rub together in order to create enough sense to know that those Mass Effect endings were lazy, rubbish, bullshit garbage? *golfclap*
Nothing entitled about demanding a good product for the money. Be it a car, a video game, or a meal.

lolwut? Jurassic Park was perhaps the worst of their games. If you thought that was great, you should be shitting out of your eyeballs at The Walking Dead.

What's going on guys?

With all due respect, I re-read my post and found no accusations.

I agree it's not fun anymore.
You miss a lot of the whole picture when you think that this has just happened here.

Freedom is an illusion. And the cake is a lie.
So you have less than 100 posts, and a grammatical error. How old are you?
Fuck yeah it is. We paid for a product that has not been given to us at the initial date(s) which they were promised.
yeah i felt it too.
Still looks like the 29th to me.
You always have to go by the dev's timezone. Until it hits the 30th on the West coast, all you're doing is shouting at a lot of empty air.

Dating is not allowed here.

OH GAWD don't tell divisonten.
I think that the people are right to complain but then again I didn't think that the Mass Effect 3 ending needed to be changed either.
Not much though. Mentioning that buccaneers have the game before us people that actually paid for the game is.
What are you talking about? I'm not complaining about THAT.
lolwut? Jurassic Park was perhaps the worst of their games. If you thought that was great, you should be shitting out of your eyeballs at The Walking Dead.
waaaaaaah waaaaaaah waaaaaaaah......
Isn't she the greatest girlfriend ever? I heard her boyfriend got an award for that.
Wait, was that an insult?
That was MY boyfriend, man.
That was both a compliment and an insult.
Sorry. Mod-mixup.:D
Damn, then I'm screwed.
