    My opinion about Telltale?

My favorite moments on the computer have been playing Telltale games. Am I looking forward to episode 3? Hell ya! Can I wait until its released? Yep, I'm patient, and I know it will be great. No rush.

I'm looking forward to an address in an upcoming episode being 2112 So they can slip a Rush joke into a game they're trying not to Rush.

I honestly think after reading the comments on here, interactive movie is a good description. In episode one it felt to me that i would have 15 min of cut scenes to watch, then 3 min if dialoage choices and 2 minutes of actual play. Not much of a game, more movie than game. Episode 2 was better, but still at least half the time was cut scenes. This is my first telltale game and will be my last. The delays wouldn't be bad if tgier was communications. One post after episode 2comes out about a vague date about when the episode might be done, done not released is not communication. Honestly do you think any feedback about episode 1 affected episode 2? I do not. If i am wrong, then it would not have hurt telltale games to say that " blah blah" which people in episode 1complained about has been changed to " blay blah" in episode 2. Just a simple statement like that could of helped thier public image greatly. If they cared about thier customers and public image, they would be addressing the communication issues, not saying nothing. Jake and the other employees could be addressing this but sadly remain silent on this front.

You do relize the game is meant to be played like a cinematic and it is a adventure game right? just checking all their games are the same way ill continure to support their games but telltales lack of communication is really annoying the communication after the late release is not really considered communication to me they need to send that crap out before they delay game not after.

I know it's pointless to ask if you played Sam and Max Seasons 1-3 or Tales of Monkey Island, but is this your first adventure game as well? If you just bought this because it has The Walking Dead on the cover, then I guess I sorta feel sorry for you.

If you had played Adventure Games or games like Heavy Rain and grew up on Choose Your Own Adventures, I think you'd have liked it more.

Sam and Max Seasons 1-3 or Tales of Monkey Island

Sam and Max was epic, especially the C.O.P.S, but though they didn't do Monkey Island Justice.

Personally feel a bit scorned by TTG, just a post to say "hi guys, we're on track" would help, but I've been warned to stay away from their marketing staff

    exactomondo goldrock.

but the kicker is not everyone realises this simple fact,

because in this current generation most games are fps (cod shite)
so these anti twd 'cos the gameplay sucks' are used to and expect everything through a sniper scope or a shotgun (gearofwarnubs).

Imo ttg deserve credit for trying to broaden our minds with other game styles in some cases resurecting the old classic..

also i feel cod and battlefield are spoiling the industry
    a) constant repetition of plots,
    b) graphics aren't really being changed much from each sequel to the next.
    c) the game play imo can be boring.
    d) dlc / map packs seem to get more expensive
    e) the new membership schemes on top of the game
    f) when some thing new and original comes along no one cares cos they're used to the above garbage..

maybe this is contradiction but i do enjoy crysis 2 single player looking forward to c3 and borderlands 2 ;)

Well, it's lucky for you. Nothing but bugs on my mac version. I think I'll be switching over to Ps3 if Telltale does nothing for this.

I bought the season pass as it were a better deal than 25$. I REALLY hate how its not released every week or two. Nevermind every 2 MONTHS!
I swear if Episode 5 isnt released before 2013 I'll demand my money back and Season 2 for free. Or else I'll make sure ALOT of people DONT buy TWDG.

They are taking so long, and have annoyed enough people, how can you believe they would get to do a season 2? And don't blame the walking dead, blame telltale games.

Uh, I guess it's because of the fact that the game is awesome, despite it's technical flaws. Take a look at Sam and Max, for example. It was awesome, and TT decided to continue on with the story.

disappointed in them. lied about the release dates, put out a very bugged/glitchy product, haven't seen any announcements regarding the game deletes for ps3 users. i like this game but after it's done, i'll never support them again

Wel, l I expectet that much from them. The game ran fine on my PS3, apart from a bit lag in audio/video. My dissapointment is that they have learned nothing since Tales of Monkey Island...

    BTW
I saw that my PSN+ had downloaded an update for the game this morning.

Awesome :) this is one of their better games so far.

What's telltale's record been like on the previous episodic games?

I can only comment on Tales of Monkey Island, just the same as this one, big delays on every episode.. No glitches for me though (I bought that on PC).

BTW, just curious, are TellTale emplies reading this forum ?and if you are, I (and most certain a lot of other people) would be gratefull for your comments on this...

I think the Episodes released so far are great. That said, I bought this game at the start of summer vacation on the assumption that the releases would be monthly and I'd be able to have the full game by the end of August. If I had any idea that the current release schedule would be even possible when I purchased the game, I would've waited until the game was completely finished before buying. As much fun as the game is, the currently released portion is not at all worth what I paid and if offered the choice, I would rather have had the $25 to spend during the steam summer sale.

I can't see myself purchasing an unfinished telltale game again, although I can easily see myself buying the games after they're finished and put on sale. (Steam's summer sale had Jurassic Park for $15 and Tales of Monkey Island for $8.50 at some point; even the Telltale package was a good deal and I might've gotten it if TWD wasn't included / I didn't have to pay for something I already have)

For the short version, I like the concept of the episodic release, but I hate the implementation. My opinion of Telltale? They dropped the ball. They should've produced more of the game before released the first episode so that they could've just added the last bits during the months between releases. Instead, it seems as if they started with less and are playing catch up.

well telltale seems to be having more fun rolling in the spotlight that in the end will bite them in the ass if they are not communicationg the the players. i swear ive seen so much press on the episodes out its gettin annoying starting to make them look like they have big heads.

but yeah one of their best by far. on the gameplay and story side of things in the adventure game genre.

If people are swearing enough about the bugs and release dates, why not just wait for the retail release of season 1? I'm pretty sure THAT will be bug-free.

  • edited August 2012
The good is the storyline so far. The bad is the delay in releasing episodes. The ugly is after all the complaints about poor communications between episode 1 and 2, the company is doing the same between 2 and 3.

    ttg have said mid august..

so why should they waste their breath confirming it over and over ?

only if it is changed / delay or an actually 100% certain release date...
  • edited August 2012
They said done, not releasing mid august. A simple blog post saying releasing mid august would calm some people done, or a post about why there was delays in the first place.
  • edited August 2012
I hate companys that have little to no communication at all with there fan-base, meaning after i get my walking dead fix, i will not give them any more money

If the release date has changed to 5 months from now, Do you honestly think they will tell us?

    I highly doubt it

they would tell us when they know it is ready..

they would probably say sorry folks we can't make mid august but we'll tell you when..

i for one will never buy an unfinished game again its clear to me that most of the devs are on other projects since they already have our money we are not a priority.

really? how clear crystal or mud ?

if you'd bother to read stuff the mac/ios versions/ports are being handled by a seperate team.

ep3 has a dedicated team working on it.

not sure on some of my spelling...

My opinion about TT at the moment? think it can be summed up in 4 words "The honeymoon Is Over"

That was a pretty dang long honeymoon for signing up in 2009 :p
