i like the first two epidoes so far. i like the direction theyre going in, terms of gameplay.
"dynamic decision based cinematic survival horror" i like to call it.
ive heard about alot of bugs. (especially episode 2) so far ive not encountered anything severe or game breaking. (knock on wood)
i'd be real interested in getting the rest of them, especially if they offer some kind of package deal where you can get them, as they are released, all for one price.
lee is a great main character. the faces he makes during some of his responses really cracks me up sometimes.
i really like clementine too. you get so hopped up on the game you really do feel like its your responsibility to keep an eye out for her.
imo, thats the mark of a real good game, you forget youre merely playing one.
This game is awesome.Reminds me of the old Kings Quest,Gabriel Knight games i used to play on DOS OS.Any one remember Stick in the Mud?Or the Police Sketch part in Gabriel Knight? That was way before its time.
Imho, Telltale is what it is. Hey it might not be perfect but who on this rock is exactly that... Perfect!!! They bring us games and thats all I need to know. Okay, the releases of TWD have been delayed... So what? Your not going to make me believe thats all complainers are grade A+ no-lifers who only sit waiting till the next episode to comes out? For the people who like to complain about it, take it as a lifelesson. Don't buy games in advance and/or on pre-order. Wait for 6 months or so and then buy the bundle when it's all complete. You ignoramouses who didn't read how it would be delivered now have learened how Telltale works and that peabrain sized puddle of grey mass on top of your spines has actually learened something.
PS: Even though TTG has changed the release notes on the comming episodes the original EULA and Rules you agreed with when you bought games from them stated that they can delay games releases if it's necessary for the betterment of the end result.
In conclusion, you go TTG your doing a good job and I salute you for the efforts you go through to deliver us good games!!! I actually want a good game instead of a buggy, glitchy mess that is delivered faster!!!
I played six seconds of Gabriel Knight. I think I was just being a snob. Should I go back?
That was 20+ years ago.I tryed getting my copy to work, but it was not worth it.Save some time and just watch the gameplay vid,but if you like the old school games go for it.The Police Sketch part was way before its time. The CD was Gabriel Knight Sins of the Fathers.

If you're looking for a complete package, there's a retail release after season 1 is finished.
Personally, I have been a fan of TTG for a while and I still remain loyal. I understand the anger that those who have paid for season passes have, but I also understand that TTG wants to put out a quality game. I don't mind the delays between episodes as long as the game they produce is as exciting as it has been. The characters are all ones that I can get attached to in one way or another. Larry, I liked him because I hated him being an ass and Clem is adorable and I've come to care about what happens with her over these two episodes. I love all the games that TTG has put out and I'll remain a loyal customer. If an episode gets pushed back, sure I'll be bummed, but I have other games I can play in the meantime. I'm looking forward to Episode 3 and hope it comes out soon.
Being a Sam and Max fan, I've bought many games from Telltale and look forward to more. For those who don't like episodes, buy when the game is complete, who says you have to be first in line, first done?

the same people who like to brag about the new stuff to sound cool, who think being the first to complete a game gives them the right to then spoil it for everyone else or because being the first to make a video would get them more views/ad money before others..
While the technical issues are still a problem, I continue to be happy with the gameplay, plot, and characters. Technical issues can be fixed, but fixing a poorly conceived game isn't really an option. I'll take bugs over bad games any day.
Still giving Telltale my money after all these years. :-)
I am pretty upset at the wait time between episodes however. I don't mind them perfecting an episode - but I'd rather have them stuck to their original plan.
It's actually a refreshing change of pace for me, to play a decent episodic adventure game. I grew up playing story driven games, before the arrival of first person shooters and their like. So, in that regard, I definitely enjoy the little bit of the game I've been able to play.
The bugs though, have pretty much made the game unplayable for me at this point. Episode 1 was spot on, worked flawlessly, and I enjoyed it. Then came Episode 2....the bugs introduced there, no saved game, black screen, etc. have made me rethink my stance/opinion of Tell Tale. I can live and work around bugs, the lack of any type of achnowledgement or notice in regards to the bugs or possible fixes however , is beginning to leave a bad taste in my mouth.
Will I buy another game from them.......maybe but, I'm leaning towards it being doubtful.
I still love Telltale Games. The way they bring back adventure games is just awesome and something I'd been wishing for, for quite some time. I've bought a lot of games of Telltale Games by now and I'll be a happy customer for quite some time.
As a Mac user I'm pretty much in the minority on this forum, but every game up until The Walking Dead has run perfectly and smoothly on my Macbook Pro. Not that long ago, gaming on a Mac seemed like a ridiculous idea and there were just a few games out there for Mac. Mostly strategic games, which I absolutely loathe, so that was a no-go. Ever since Steam, Feral Interactive and Telltale Games, Mac games have become more and more available. Ofcourse the new Intel processors need some mentioning as well...
I said up until The Walking Dead, but the game itself (episode 1 and 2) ran smoothly and perfectly once again. The download issue was / is the biggest problem, for me anyway. Once I was able to download episode 2, it was smooth sailing from there on. The savegames connected the two episode perfectly, no graphical glitches, and the framerate stayed pretty steady, even on my crappy internal mobile videocard.
Yes, I was annoyed at Telltale Games for the huge downloading issue and I really hope it won't happen again for episode 3, but I still believe they're not amused with these errors either and just as frustrated as their fans and customers.
I see a couple of posts here and there saying that Telltale doesn't care about their customers at all, but I think this is not the case at all. I'm guessing they took a huge risk when they started the company, not knowing if the point-and-click 'fad' would still work. Thanks to the fans, they are able to continue to exist. I don't know the numbers, but I'm guessing online sales are at least 95% of their income and only 5% from retailers.
So yeah, what I'm trying to say is, I'm still a fan
My opinion soured a bit. They still make good games. If they make another of these or Bttf I will buy, just after the seasons are complete or at least on 4/5.
TellTale does a good job of bringing the Walking Dead to a game format while keeping the core values that make the Walking Dead universe entertaining.
Weather or not you like a TellTale game is strongly dependent on if you like the story/universe that their game is based on.
I never read the comic books, but I have seen the AMC show. This game is hands-down the most immersive experience of The Walking Dead universe so far. I always wondered what it would be like to live in a world liuke the Walking Dead. This is about as close as you can get without actually being there (which would be horrifying and undesirable).
I dunno why everyone's getting pissy at Telltale now, it's really beyond their control at this point sadly.
I'm just glad they're telling us about it. TWD could very well be my GOTY if all the episodes would be released in this year. Just hoping that Microsoft/Steam/Sony gets off their asses and gives Telltale a date.

You should probably read the books, because this game is definately not the most immersive experience of The Walking Dead universe so far, not by a long shot.

Because for the second time in a row they have projected a release, failed to meet it, and refuse to explain. If you're not pissy after that you're an idiot.

Finish a game before you sell it.
hmm
episodic gaming ? ttg business model for 6 years ??
When did they project a release for ep3 ? NEVER.. they only pointed out it would be ready in 6 weeks. but did they say we get it/released in 6 weeks NO..
I'm sure I've said this before elsewhere, but I'll say it again. Episode games mean that purchasing prior to completion finances a better game as it's made, with added possibly of tweaking the story depending on player reaction.

Since you seem like a dedicated fan of theirs, and this is ny first (proabaly last) telltale product, are they always this bad about communicating withe the customers? Do they usually promoted a monthly release only to change it to periodic after everyone has bought the first episode? If this is thier standard practice, I would like to know, cause that would influence my decision to buy season 2. If this is not thier standard practice, then people have a vaulable complaint.
ttg where worse before but i only played bttf before twd.
thing is i knew what i was buying; an episodic game which was being built each 'month' for release.
there were delays in between with one or two eps on time, but people still haven't learned from that.. yes bttf had a 2 month gap after ep1 people went apeshit... despite it being posted and mentioned on the sales page/faq/forum..
ttg must have a rule book on what they can and can't say but when the episode is ready ttg make sure ppl can see it.

No, Telltale almost always keep a monthly release. It hasn't been a perfect run, but Walking Dead is certainly been their worst when it comes to releasing episodically.
There have been a few exceptions, BTTF was one, but they stated during preorders that there would be a 2 month gap between episode 1 and 2(I think the day of preorders actually), I think Monkey Island had an episode a week off on monthly, and I never even paid attention to Wallace and Gromit if that screwed up. For the most part, all Telltale games that I bought episodically have been done on time.
If I were to guess, they probably were WAY too overconfident with their abilities when it comes to making choices, none of their games have ever allowed that.

but for most of the 3 years guybrush has only recently found his/her voice on here
no offense
She did spend a large chunk of it as a solid gold statue.

Yeah, Strong Bad was terrible, wasn't it?
This is so true, it hurts.
yup, i had a guy on deus ex hr 360 version he was so chuffed he got it and beat it in pretty fast time i think on hard..
i then told him i did it on legendary in a quicker time plus other hard achievments like pacifist/foxiest of the hounds 150g total
what happened ?
he was silent and never spoke to me again
Wait, is this why there was a sneaking mission with Glenn ?
i saved her in my first run lol tooka few tries like...
but i gotta be honest i felt really shitty letting her die, i was her flyboi...
glenn and his need for 'weapons' hehe

Pilot from DEHR...
