Jurassic Park they delayed until they just released it all at once. It lost an episode in the process, but plays fine. People just don't like the format.
Being a Sam and Max fan, I've bought many games from Telltale and look forward to more. For those who don't like episodes, buy when the game is complete, who says you have to be first in line, first done?
This is ridiculous? i would not mind the episode format if they were actually on time. Its my first TT game, I bought it under the assumption it was a monthly thing, and only been let down so far. I did not buy it to be first in line or first down. As I am sure many other users are the same way.
To answer the question this thread poses, here's my opinion about TellTale at this point:
Until a few weeks ago I'd never heard of them and never played any of their games. I love The Walking Dead and ran across this game on a YouTube walkthrough series and it just looked awesome as hell so I bought it on steam. Then I came here after I ran out of game to geek out on the forums while I wait for e3 to come out. I still haven't played any other TellTale games, but this one is frickin' awesome!
I've been playing video games since I was 6 years old (in 1985) and I've played thousands. I love games of all types (except FPS--I played the first Wolfenstein, the first 3 Dooms, [edit: oh, and Quake too],Turok for 64, and that was it. The FPS style of gaming is just not for me.), but my favorites are story-based and/or strategy based. This game is such a perfect example of the 'interactive movie' type of game I've been waiting to play since I was a little kid. The world feels real, the characters feel real, the story and plot feel real, the drama is real; I get tense, I get nervous, I get flustered making decisions on the fly, I get scared, I get angry, I get sad...this is what it's all about! When's the last time I had so many emotions being triggered by a game? Final Fantasy X, that's when.
So I'd say that after 27 years of gaming, being in the top 3 games that have ever moved me emotionally, gotten me addicted to STORY and CHARACTER instead of mere gameplay, collecting, levelling up, grinding, etc. and just plain old put a big smile on my face--TellTale is rockin' my shit.
Sure, they promised an incredibly optimistic timeline for releases that frankly no one could deliver on, but they also released a video game that is SO FREAKING GOOD that I don't care. Time ceases to exist for me.
So that's it: TellTale broke my relationship with space/time their game is so good. I'm not into fanboy culture, but when I love something, I ain't shy about saying so and vice-versa.

Calm down, d00d. It isn't as if they're just going to up an cancel your delivery of the game. So there's unplanned delays in the release schedule, big deal. It happens ALL the time. The Walking Dead is my first TTG game as well, but I'm perfectly fine with them having to work out kinks in the schedule. It gives them time to put any unfinished touches on the game as well as fix any bugs. Do you seriously want repeats of the first two episodes, or a better episode this time around and the times after? I guess it's a matter of being open-minded and forgiving or not.

To all the poeple like this person that says give them time, so they can fix bugs, i have to call bs. After the extra time, the episodes are still buggy, so it's not like if we wait another week, the episode will be bug free. No matter how long we wait, the product will have bugs. The company in my opinion isn't delaying to fix bugs like some people like to think. That excuse is a lot of horse pucky
no game is ever bug free especially on pc cos of the millions of specs available, and the ps3/xbox have to pass some testing before they allow a release so if these bugs where present those episodes would not be out..
depending on how people treat there pc's /consoles using hdd or memory cards, too many installed games with lots of saves data gets corrupted..
which is something you can only test so far with..
My opinion of Telltale games is that they need to release things when they say they are going to because you lose fans and money the way they are doing things now. I wish I worked for them, I bet I could single-handedly get their asses where they need to be!

Not saying the game will be bug-free completely, but most of the most game-breaking and annoying ones would be weeded out due to the time. And yes, that is your opinion. By the way, don't address me as "this person", I have a name. 'Kay, thanks.

their 'asses' are already on the seats in the office making the game
and as for release date have they actually missed a confirmed date ? NO
My opinion... Since they've reworded or removed their orginal expectations I don't have any trust in what they say. They began a project and made statements to entice gamers, but they lacked either the manpower or didn't think everything through. Now they look like inept liars.
Had they finished the first few episodes then began releasing them "monthly" while working on the last 2 or final episode they would have gained many happy followers. I'm sure (at least hope) that they've learned their limitations and work to improve themselves.
I'm angry with them, but they already have my money so what... Despite my disappointment, I'd certainly purchase a season 2 insofar they stood by their word. I love the game so far, if I didn't, I wouldn't check for updates every day.
Nope. Sorry. Wrong, wrong, wrong. They have missed 0 confirmed release dates.
This game was advertised with a "monthly" episode release, they've since reworded and or removed anything with "monthly" written in it. This was how it was worded in the PSN description, so TT is months behind their orginal expectations; which means they missed all of their previously planned "monthly" releases.

If you're not having fun, don't play.
Quit whining. It will be ready when it's ready and the relentless bitching won't get it here any faster.

Play Silent Hill 2.

Or Silent Hill 3. Or 4. Or hell, the entire series! I find Shattered Memories amazing.
stop enticing hate. complaining about whining is a bit hypocritical, just ignore.
I was responding to a specific poster who quoted my prior post.
Lol.. Doesnt matter. You hate enticer you!!! *sarcasm*
Ah hell, in that case I better go earn the title. Give me a minute, I have go open at least 10 pointless threads of mind numbing ranting.

"Just get it released! That new guy's crazy!"
Tuesday to twist the knife...hehehe
their 'asses' are already on the seats in the office making the game
and as for release date have they actually missed a confirmed date ? NO
dumbass...
I like the game.
Keep it up.
Actually yes they have, they missed around 5.
Even dumber, dumbass...
Nope. Sorry. Wrong, wrong, wrong. They have missed 0 confirmed release dates.
No, they missed around 5.
hazl where are you getting your facts from ?
cos as far as bttf and twd are concerned any confirmed release date that was officialy announced has been met.
but are you thinking of the twd wiki page?
From Telltale.
Pretty sure he/she means the "monthly release" that TT didn't meet. Even though it wasn't a confirmed release date.
also that whole 5 episodes released monthly comment was 'planned' not a guarantee or confirmed.
Yes, they were, when you loaded up the game, it said monthly updates, that is a confirmed date.
Nope.. It's not.
Love the game and really don't care which week it comes out.
Yes, it is.
A confirmed date would be a time/day/month/year and a post on a forum stating it.
Not an faq post made under an 'educated' guess when ep1 was still being made/tested.

No, a confirmed date is when you buy a product and it clearly tells you that it will have monthly updates.

The battle of semantics is retarded..
