Third time I've had trouble with a Telltale product and that fixed it like nothing. Awesome, thanks.

Yay this is sooo awesome!! I just tried the fix that supposedly should work, and I missed the notice about the fact that some people's savefiles disappeared after they tried that fix.. and guess what? MY BLOODY SAVE FILES DISAPPEARED...

I'm seriously thinking about just uninstalling this pos...

You know what guys ? I've read a post saying that Telltale has responded to somebody's question about the connection error and you know what they told her ? To check her connection to the internet to see if it's working fine. WTF TTG ? Instead of admitting the mistake they put the blame on somebody else's

If that's the truth, I am thrilled to see how hard they are working to help out their customers.*sigh*

I know that Greg Miller at IGN is going through some shit in his personal life, but I still sorta want to punch him in the face for giving this episode a 7.5/10. Cmon, reviewers.
I enjoyed the episode but it wasn't my favourite. Yes it had the most action sequences but I didn't feel as fulfilled by the end of the episode as I did with the earlier ones. The questions from episode three weren't answered in episode 4 nor were those subjects really discussed even though the episode begins minutes after episode 3's ending. I agree with a lot of Greg Miller's comments. But to each his own. Come to think about it Greg was pretty good in his review there were flaws he could have highlighted assuming he didn't miss them such as Lee talking to Christa as if he had known her for days when he had only known her for hours.

I think the bar was set so high by the first 3 games. That any score lower than previous reviews will seem unfair but he still regarded the episode as being good.

To the forum members discussing episode 4.. Please don't discuss this on this thread when it's clear most of us can't get it to download. We are trying very hard not to have the game spoiled for us. I know there are people out there that find it hilarious to spoil things for others, but I am hoping that this doesn't apply to you. Please post these on the review thread where they belong. Thanks!

HOLY SHIT BE CAREFUL GUYS.....I think the bit where people are saying that they are being told to re-enter their username and password is FAKE. Since when is the official website called: www.walkingdeadthegame.com ? it's OFFICIALLY CALLED: www.thewalkingdeadgame.com Fishy no ?

I've had the coming soon thing all day on wed until later in the night, I finally got the "Get" button but it just dc'd every time I tried to get it after 0%, Earlier this morning I got the download up to 50% but it dc's there and restarts from 10%. I was thinking about trying the fix, but I didn't want to copy my save files to a backup so I waited for telltale to fix the problem. I opened the game again a few minutes ago, hoping they would of fixed the problem and my game now opens in a windowed mode, instead of the normal full screen. I didn't really care about it being in full screen so I continued to to go to the download link for episode 4 and guess what. Telltale has erased all of my saves somehow AND I still can't download episode 4. Really regretting buying the season pass now. Well played Telltale, well played.

Well you made a mistake in not making a back up there matey. As for the windowed mode you could alt+enter to go to full screen ;)
  • edited October 2012
I didn't do the fix method. It just deleted my saves on its own. Whats the point of having a saves folder that can delete itself, Save files should be safe like they are in every other game, I shouldn't have to back up every single saved game.
  • edited October 2012
Well you should ALWAYS keep a back up of everything.....even of important work, house documents just in case your pc gets busted and cannot retrieve the items from the hard disk

Only have so much space for backups, so game save files, which should be safe unless your computer crashes, usually don't make it to a backup file. Telltale could of least posted a warning that trying to update your game will ruin the save files, so that I could temporarily make a backup file. I did see that people were loosing game files by using the fix method, but I didn't think just downloading Ep. 4 normally would have the same effect.

And thanks spawner, I must somehow set my game into windowed mode, the alt-enter fixed it, still wondering how the game saves got deleted though as they were just there a short while ago, and i still havent updated succesfully yet, getting the DC error still.

The only game save I took back up for(apart from walking dead as others claimed to have had their saves deleted) was Deus Ex. Still have it on me. I don't usually keep saves as I finish a game and uninstall it the moment I finish it. I have seen people claiming that their save files got deleted after installing ep4....

This ^^ 3 days now, not able to download ep4. :guybrush:

I would have guessed they would have the problem fixed Thursday. I can't believe we are going to be stuck till next week without being able to play. I am not willing to try the work around that has worked for some others, so I will wait for Telltale to fix it, and keep busy with other things till it works. So I'm guessing Tuesday for being able to download.

To anyone having problems with their downloads, I feel your frustration as a fully paid PS3 customer who has the misfortune of being in Europe!

Three times in a row is beyond a joke and extremely unfair. Telltale must know the problems with Sony Europe's QA by now! Why not release this coming week? Its only a week and everyone would have felt they'd been treated fairly.

I know that I'm repeating myself to a certain degree. But... what ires me the most about the release date debacle is TTG's lack of communication. It took them about 8 hours to acknowledge the release date for Ep. 4 for PSN EU, and then only with a retweet from Playstation, and the blog still reads "The European release date on PlayStation Network will be announced as soon as we have information from our partners at SCEE."

This was written July 5 "We will continue to work on this and furthermore, we will strive to improve our communication with you so that you know what’s happening." Promises, promises, when will they start to do something about them?

When will EP 5 Release for PC?

So, almost a week later, and still can't download ep 4...connection errors...okay.

I love how telltale is getting the hate over the european psn not telling anyone a date.

That's were you're wrong. PSN EU told us the release date (17th October) on the 11th of October. The day after episode 4 was released for PSN NA. About 8 hours later TTG managed a retweet of PSN EU's message. After this there has been no more announcements from TTG*, not on their blog or their twitter. It is now one day before the release of episode 4 for PSN EU and TTG has yet to officially acknowledge that the episode will in fact be released tomorrow.

TTG deserve a lot of critisism for their appaling lack of communication.

*Perhaps on Facebook, but a lot of people aren't on Facebook.

This is fascinating! I still can't download episode 4 from their goddamn servers :D this is the worst thing I've ever experienced when it comes to customer contact/support for something I've paid for.

I have the same problem, gave up in the end and followed the fix that a poster had kindly put up. I didnt want to start messing with files as i should'nt have to but i got tired of waiting.

It really is a mess and is not just a "few" people as they say. A friend of mine bought the game at the end of last week and he cant download any episodes

Cant fault TT on the game though its brilliant, the customer service and making sure thier product works before release is the worst ive seen from any company.

Oh i tell a lie, i once booked a flight from the Uk to New York and the plane or any of its staff just didnt turn up, that was pretty bad :D

Since the EU got Episode 4 on the 17th October does that count for a prize since some of us voted for it or was it just for the NA PSN and Xbox/PC release date?

For the record and probably various reasons, this patch didn't help me at all immediately. Connectivity problems, no progress at 10% and immediate connection losses was everything I got. Only a complete new installation with all prefs erased did the trick. But then, with that patch, I could download all three episodes without any "connection losses" or things like that (although I had to restart the game between episode downloads). Took a while as you can imagine, but now, FINALLY. I mean, I have played episode 4 for the first time ONE HOUR AGO. Talk about waiting.

I had the exact same experience. Finally got to play 2 days ago. Hope Episode 5 goes smoother!
