Fine then, Clem is more metis than black if you say so.
  • edited December 2012
Like I said, black supremacy at its best right there.

    Uhm, why?

What, when did you say Clem's mum is asian? I thought you said she was white.

he is simply grasping at any chance he can be vilified instead of ignorant.

I don't mind tbh. I just find it funny how they keep doing the same with them over and over again :p but it's a valid point.

Personally I would love to see Andrea die as soon as possible she is pissing me off for such a long time now, but I doubt that will happen :(

I'm going out to celebrate when she dies.

"I can help, I can shoot, I can defend the walls! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEE"

NO YOU CAN'T ANDREA! You're a waste of space and saying you can shoot doesn't mean you can shoot. Remember that time you shot Norman Reedus because someone said YOU WERE GOING TO END UP SHOOTING SOMEONE?!

On Topic, I don't think it's racist, but it is annoying how T-Dog and Oscar were killed off.

where did i say she was white? i said clems mother looks white with kinky hair. i've also said clem looks asian. either way, both the mother and clementine were meant to look racially ambiguous.

People are actually taking this thread seriously... Wow.

It's exhausting just reading through it.

    Also,
maybe you are having a hard time telling christa is black because she doesn't have 9 inch fingernails.

    Umm...?

So she's not white nor black, she's metis. How is this racist?

personally i don't think TWD is racist, as has been pointed out the racial diversity of the group in the show is reasonable representative of Georgia.

When ever racism is brought up its from Merle and he is clearly wrong and should be hated for of his views and remarks.

T-dog totally broke with expectations when he survived his injury and infection, he was a good man and went out that way, Oscar was strong and honorable (whereas axle is a bit weak and now sort of creepy) and i respected his character for the short time he was in the show, now they introduce tyrese and from his introduction to the show he is a badass that cares about people and was no threat at all the group.

Michonne is strong, smart and has a heart (demonstrated subtly by her desire to feed rick's baby and her reactions to her eavesdropping on the conversations of the group) and in the comics she is a lot of peoples favourite character.

maybe i am missing something and i am ignorant of a racist theme to TWD but i don't think i am, and i think its a shame that people think that it is racist

Now that I think about it, Will Smith's character sacrificed himself for no reason in I Am Legend.

yes, asking for black characters to be given the same dialogue and character development as white characters is some how black supremacy.

Now I get it. But a white redneck and a white teenager lost their lives to save someone more black than them. Is it racist to? :p

Of course not, only white people can be racist, don't you know? It's the same way that only men can be sexist.

i am ignorant of a racist theme to TWD

    this is pretty much it.

t-dawg was nothing more than a errand boy for white characters. disposing of bodies, digging ditches, siphoning gas from vehicles. while white characters actually had a background, dialogue, love interest, t-dawg was a humble servant for his group. only to die by trying to save a white chick.

t-dawg 2.0 (oscar) betrayed his fellow prisoners, shot another black guy. became ricks new lacky for all of 2 days, only to ALSO die saving a white chick.

t-dawg 3.0 (tyrese) probably wont follow the comics at all. seeing as how he's already subservient to carl. i see him also dying the same well his predecessors did.

Mixed races is the least racist thing that exists. Seeing a white with a black used to be even worse that non WASPs wanting rights in the US. Happy to know it's over :p

Yeah, minorities are so happy that they are allowed to be in a relationship with white people now.

marcu5 stop being a racist by yourself and just accept that TWD has no real racistic elements in it(I have already proven it in a previous post) and that Clementine is black. You say you are black by yourself, so inform yourself -> there are varities in the skin colour like there are also varities in the skin colour of different white and asian people..
  • edited December 2012
I do not see any racist things in TWD, either.

I can see where you're coming from with the show...I GUESS...but to try to pin the game as racist, really?

I've lived in the south my entire life and have seen my share of racist assholes. To them, black and mixed people are pretty much the exact same demographic, so whether Clem is black or mixed doesn't mean shit when trying to see if the game is racist or not.

And calling Lee's death racist is stupid. He was a badass the entire game and in the final episodes pretty much became the leader. Did you expect him to live forever or something? And you don't have to cuff him to the radiator by the way, if THAT offends you (It shouldn't).

Also, out of the worst people we've encountered alive in the game, the St. Johns and the Save-Lots Bandits, we've seen ONE black person in the group.

He survives in most playthroughs by the way.

i'd actually prefer it if they didn't have any black people on the show

it's better than adding black men just to be killed off in the next episode.

a great article on the walking dead and it's social commentary

Well the show is a typical Hollywood cliche, but Tyresse leads a group that includes 2 white guys and there are no problems.

no, i dont expect anyone to live forever in TWD universe

but how many games kill off their main protagonist? not very many. just follows the same tired "black men must always die" script.

i can already tell by how they've turned michonne into a savage bitter black woman

because if they're going to give him a stupid ass name like that. i'm going to bastardize it the way i see fit. if some black guy were called t-dog, he'd probably spell it either "t-dawg" or "t-dogg"

In a game about the walking dead, where anyone can die, it shouldn't be that surprising. Especially when there originally wasn't going to be a season two.

And there are quite a few games where the protagonist dies. Even if it wasn't the walking dead it wouldn't be unusual.
