That's probably the best idea I've heard all week. Ginormous Mass Effect. All I'd need is a projector and a really big room...

Simple. Tell everyone in the theater you frequent that they're holding a special test screening for Sex and the City 3. After everyone has inevitably left, plug your gaming system of choice into the digital projector unit and you're golden!

Now, I want to play Mass Effect again. It will probably look a lot better now that I don't have to play it in the tiniest window imaginable.

It's schtunning. the aliens look amazing, most of the humans look really good. Plus Sheppards badassery in HD makes me weak at the knees. Have you played as Fem Shep? I but i've heard she's equally have bad ass

This reminds me of when I was a teenage sprog all of us used to get trashed in the massive projection room in our cinema and raided the shop in the lobby for poopsi's, hot nuts and Hunky Dory's.

That's Golden Years material right there. Anyway, enough off-subject rambling

Brilliant! All I need is the right video adapter!

I've actually only played as Fem!Shep, mainly because I wanted to romance Garrus. :p

By the end of the summer, I probably should be finished building my sleek and shiny computer (right now its a rather elderly machine with a kick ass video card) and then...I will put all the settings up to eleven.

LIKE A BOSS he said >=(

Anyways, I'm playing Pokémon Black...as crazy as it sounds I'll actually try to catch all 600 something of them this time. Wish me luck? Well, at the very least I WILL finish the Unova dex.

Also, played a little of Dissidia 12 before my PSP's screen decided to be an a******and instead of only the corner of the screen being completely ****ed up now more than half the screen is >__> Still, even with what little I played Kefka only appeared once and he's already the best part of the story XD

Well, this thread is all over the place, but...

I bought a PlayStation 3 Slim a few weeks ago. I keep telling myself that it was not to play Brütal Legend, being that I am PC petition supporter, but inevitably, that was the first game that I played on the system.

Right now, I am playing Heavy Rain, and loving almost every minute of it. I am surprised that I have ignored Quantic Dream's games for so long. I am not a fan of Quick Time Events, but I am captivated by the idea of consequences resulting from player decisions, and therefore, the possibility of one of several branching story paths. If only that was what Telltale Games meant when they said that Jurassic Park was Heavy Rain inspired.

I also bought LittleBigPlanet: Game of the Year Edition, but have yet to explore it very deeply.

Well, today is 3DS day in the states...

I'm going to go play my Game Boy, since I'm poor. Back to Pokemon Yellow for me!

Mass Effect 2. I finally came back to it after a year of not playing, got the expansions and am going to attempt to playthrough without having my team die horrible, meaningless DEATHS.

Tis the time of preparation for Mass Effect 3. One never knows what insignificant character from Mass Effect 2 will play a crucial role in the third one. My money's on Legion, personally, since it was easier to miss his loyalty quest.

I'm having trouble remembering, but couldn't you just not pick him up and finish the game? If memory serves, there were a couple you could finish the game with and not even have to pick up.

Also, third game better have Tali. And Mordin. Oh fuck yes, Mordin. He's the best.

I think you had to when you retrieve the Reaper IFF. But you can choose to sell him or space him if you want to. Same with Grunt. I think the game doesn't let you proceed, though, if you don't get all the dossiers.

In agreement about Tali and Mordin. Especially, Mordin. By the end of 2 I was using him for every single mission since he's just so useful, even with his low defense. He kills Harbingers in one hit with maxed Incinerate. That alone makes me love the guy.

I'd add Garrus here as well, but he's probably going to be there anyway regardless.

Of course they're keeping Garrus. Garrus is the bomb! They're probably going to space Zaeed and Kasumi, though; and you'll never hear from them again. I can't wait to see what eventually becomes of Liara, though.

I think she'll become the new Shadow Broker. It'll probably turn out that the Shadow Broker is a bit like the Dread Pirate Roberts and the title gets passed down to whoever can find out who the old one is or something like that. Then, Shepard will have to make some complex morality choice that will effect the rest of the game in ways that are impossible to predict.

It will probably be something else, though, knowing BioWare. They always choose the twistiest plots and seem to delight in messing with everyone. But speculation is fun!

:D Woohoo! Another game completed! I managed to finish Broken Sword 2: The Smoking Mirror tonight. As for Aquaria, I'm needing a break from it. I keep getting lost in the rather large map (never been good with directions)! So now I'm going to play Half Life 2 for the first time and replay Duke Nukem 3D since MusicallyInspired linked to me a way to run the game on modern computers.

Sword and Sorcery for the iPad.

    THIS GAME IS AMAZING.

I'm not sure what I'm playing just yet. It's like an adventure game with timed combat sequences that are fairly simplistic yet engaging.

But the overall experience is just killer. The music, the barebones plot that still seems so epic, the crazy vinyl EP story frame used to set the story in. This game is engrossing.

Grim fandango. Started replaying it in 2007 but had to take a year break between each part to fully experience it

Willy Beamish, replaying it for the first time in many years... turns out I had forgotten quite a lot of the puzzles, but I also found that the game is much easier than I seemed to remember.

But even so, it's a highly enjoyable game, I'm really enjoying it.
Too bad it's rather short, I think I'll soon have finished it already.

Playing the floppy version as sadly the CD version lacks MT-32 support, which is essential for me right now as I very recently got my MT-32 working here for the first time ever.

I'm planning to record a longplay of the floppy version with MT-32 music as there doesn't seem to be one of those on Youtube already... I only found a longplay of the CD talkie version (which forces you to use adlib music, sadly... shame how they didn't include MT-32 support in this one!), and one of the Amiga version.

If anyone is curious what the MT-32 music sounds like compare to the 'standard' Adlib music, here's a little clip I recorded of the intro music, played using both Adlib and then MT-32.

I'm tempted to finally start Zelda II and continue my Zelda spree (so I can get on to the games I like better and it won't feel so much like an ordeal), but on the other hand, I'm really in the mood to play a good GameCube game or something.

Maybe I should fire up KOTOR and see if I like it any better when I'm not being distracted by a Skype call.

You should. Giving up because of one little death is no way to let things be!

I didn't give up because of one little death (I played on for a while after it, even), I gave up because 1. I was a little bored with it, 2. I was having a hard time focusing on it while talking to you guys, and 3. I couldn't get my head around how the freaking battle system works. Yeah, I was fighting enemies, but I definitely wasn't fighting them effectively. Also, I had turned to a guide in order to help with the battle system issue, and in the process, I decided I didn't want to play a scoundrel after all.

I suppose the quasi-turn-based system takes a bit of getting used to. I would say, for KOTOR, stick to guns and either sniper or power blast until you get to be a Jedi. But, having said that, Dashing would be a much better source of advice then me as he's beaten that game loads more times.
