Hmm, I know it's possible to press the Triangle button while selecting a data source (before opening it) in the PS3 menu and selecting "View all Files" or something like that.

Today is May 3rd. The day of the original release date of DNF before it was postponed to June 14th (June 10th international). But it is indeed coming on the 14th. Randy Pitchford, president and CEO of Gearbox Software has confirmed that the game is complete (all bugs squashed) and going through the certification process. http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/technologynews/view/1126444/1/.html. The article was confirmed by a Gearbox employee on their forums. The system requirements have also finally been released and they are as follows:

    Minimum Specifications
    • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.0 Ghz
    • Memory: 1 Gb
    • Hard Drive: 10 Gb free
    • Video Memory: 256 MB
    • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon HD 2600
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

    Recommended Specifications
    • OS: Windows XP/Vista/7
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6 Ghz
    • Memory: 2 Gb
    • Hard Drive: 10 Gb free
    • Video Memory: 512 MB
    • Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850
    • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

I expect the demo to be released to First Access Club members any time now. Also, here's a new and uncensored "Come Get Some" trailer released a few days ago (NSFW).

The long wait is almost over.

14-15 hour campaign? That's... really decent, actually. That should translate to about 7-8 hours in real world gameplay. :p
  • edited May 2011
Actually, Randy said 10 hours for experienced players. Still 2-4 times the amount of a COD campaign.
  • edited May 2011
I can accept ten. To be honest, as much as I love the Duke and want 15 years of development to be justified, too much would be exhausting. It's the same reason I feel a comedy film should never break two hours.

I'm certainly interested in the demo, which I have access to! But I have to admit, the game does look fun.

Sorry, but it seems to me a Postal clone with hi-res effects.
    Not buying it.

Err... how is it a clone of Postal? The games are absolutely nothing alike other than the offensive material (although one borders on mean-spirited, and the other is just silly). Okay, Postal 2 was an FPS (kind of), and took a humorous slant, but that's about it.

Also, Duke was doing his thing before Postal came around.

A Postal clone?! The first Postal was released in 1997 but I assume that your referring to Postal 2, which was released in 2003. Duke Nukem Forever is an update in the franchise that started back in 1991. More specifically, DNF is an modern take on the third entry in the series; Duke Nukem 3D, which was released in 1996 (a full year before Postal was released).

DNF started development in 1997, in response to the success of DN3D, so how on Earth is it a clone of Postal?! If anything Postal 2 is a (shoddy) clone of Duke Nukem.

Next you're going to tell me that Pink Floyd ripped off The Scissor Sisters 'Comfortably Numb'!

    lol @ Postal comment.

Duke Nukem's moonlighting as a therapist these days?!

Just pre-ordered my copy so all there is left to do now is wait a month.
Can't wait to finally play that game, I have waited Forever(That never gets old.):)

Some of the game play videos looks really fun, and I am glad the shrink gun gets a comeback, I loved that gun in Duke 3D: :)

Here's my thought. All pre-orders of Duke Nukem Forever get cancelled. All of the money earned is going to fund Borderlands 2. FML.

Hey all, I'm trying to upload my Duke3D maps on the web via a USB stick, plugged into my PS3. Does anyone know how to do this exactly because I can't get my PS3 to acknowledge any file that isn't an image, video or music (that includes RARs etc).

I've tried going to free upload sites, from where I'm able to select files through my USB but like I said I can't figure out how to get the actual file as an option.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's a old school PS3 and you haven't ran updates in a while then you can also install a alternative operating system. But, yeah, I know PS3s are having problems right now. Haven't turned mine on in a while.

I never thought this day would come. I'm hyped for this game now.

I think it's worth repeating that the demo is this June 3rd.

I bet you each a billion dollars that Duke Nukem Forever will NEVER resurface. It's been almost a decade since any news of it came out. You guys might still be hopeful, but I'm much smarter than that.

    EDIT: Nevermind.

    Not all that smart, apparently.

    EDIT: Nevermind, you've realised.

Luckily, I entered a writing/photo contest (of which that same photo was also entered) with a music submission (cover of Stalker, the theme from the first level of Duke3D) which won me a FAC code. So I'm just in time to get the demo! Also, apparently FAC members who activated on or before the 1st get the eventual multiplayer DLC for free. Just in time!

The guy who entered that photo also won.

Ooohhhhhh, let us all know what the demo's like once you've played it. :D

Less than 24 hours to go! Hopefully. I will let you all know...at least, those who are interested.

It would be cool if the demo contained the chalkboard from the released footage. That's classic Duke; high levels of environment interaction. I bet that 99% of players will draw a chalk willy straight away.

I am coping very well. I'll pick up DNF when it comes down in price £30's a bit too much for a man who gets full on one tin

I don't get all the negative demo feedback 'round the nets. It's exactly what I hoped it would be.

Way too short, and a bad selection for the second level, though. But they promised poo-throwing, and by damn, I threw some poo! :D

    EDIT: And oh GOD, the
    recap of Duke 3D
    was FANTASTIC.
  • edited June 2011
It was not a bad demo but I feel this is an old build because its the exact same demo that was at PAX last year I'm hoping the full game will be a little better.
  • edited June 2011
Our family had a copy. I saw it and played some of it. I thought it was pretty good for being just a demo. The game has alot going on, and felt Duke like. As far as shooters go , this demo is still one of the most original games I've played in years.

Duke is Duke, stop hating. This game will be good.
  • edited June 2011
Someone isn't all that excited about what he saw in the demo...
