I'm really psyched for this game. That being said, some of the designs obviously seem to be exaggerated to an extent (Huge heads, noses, etc.). The Bart/Fink guy with the moustache has a really weird design. Some of the designs look great though!
Personally, I've liked all the character designs that I've seen so far but your comment of huge heads and noses made me realise; what are LA going to do when it comes to the hand at the bidding door on Phatt Island? I seem to remember that it was massive in the original game (and looked a little odd) due to the player needing to see the number of fingers but in HD that may look a really out of place!

I wonder what the Adventures page will be posting next. Hopefully songs.
Let's see, so far we've heard:
-Menu (same as SoMI:SE)
-Chapter Screen (same as SoMI:SE)
-Bart and Fink's Theme
-Largo's Theme
-Woodtick
-About half a second of the carpenter's shop.
-The Bloody Lip Bar and Grill
-The Swamp Rot Inn
-Booty Island
-Booty Island Antique Shop
-Walking to the Governor's Mansion
That makes no sense as the original CD version of SMI had 5 languages. That's the whole reason why I thought the 5-language selection at the beginning was there. MI2 never had a CD release, though (just a disk-to-cd release that disabled the copy protection).
That makes no sense as the original CD version of SMI had 5 languages.
Actually, it does make sense from a sloppy coder's point of view. Think of it, the enhanced CD had 5 languages, right. But each language version had a complete standalone set of resources (monkey.000 and monkey.001). Unlike their later titles, the actual language was embedded directly into the scripts back then. The SE comes with the English version of monkey.001 only. There is a separate translation file outside monkey.001 which obviously the engine isn't aware of when SE features are disabled.
It's not my intention to defend the coders, yet it makes sense to me. Infact, if they'd tried just a little harder, they could have found a way around this limitation, I pretty positive. Just like no speech in classic mode was an unnecessary limitation too.

Precisely. This time there will be speech in classic mode, so I hope they have found to keep the multilanguage too.
I first bought somi:se from steam, then when telltale got, it I re bought it from them so I wouldnt have to use steam (and to support telltale as well). I guess if it comes out through steam first I will buy from them but probably end up re buying it from telltale when they get it.
Since someone already did: http://www.telltalegames.com/forums/showpost.php?p=299424&postcount=40
The executable is probably the only difference. Telltale has no reason to prevent modding. Even LucasArts seems fine with it. They could just enforce an update with encrypted data, if they wanted to.
I'll probably pick Steam. It's where I have SoMI:SE as well and I'd like to keep them at the same place. To be honest, I'd have picked Steam for ToMI as well if it wasn't for the dvd bonus.
Something very important to help us with E3. We need help collecting ingredients for a very special voodoo doll.
The first ingredient is "Something of The Thread". Collect all the images you can of this ingredient for us and upload them into our gallery of Thread. The more creative, the better the final result will be....
That's cutting it a bit fine on the 'summer' release.
Im guessing that it just says August 31st coz it would have been released by then coz its the last day of summer, I dont think thats a real release date. I think they just do it so they can put some date up.
According to this interview with a recruiter at Lucasfilm Singapore on June 4th, MI2:SE will be "released for the iPhone on 7 July."
I don't know if we can really trust the words of a recruiter but if it's true, let's hope the other versions will be out at the same moment.
I REALLY hope Telltale is doing a concurrent release, because I'd FAR prefer to buy it from them over Steam! That said, if there's a year's delay, I won't be able to wait!
I'd buy a MI2 style Guybrush plush doll as well. And a full-sized statue which I could put in my front yard. Bronze. And I'd like some of his clothes to, which I could either put on the statue, or wear myself. I so love his jacket. I'd like to go to a wedding wearing that jacket. Okay, maybe not. But pirate's clothes ever became fashionable again, I'd so make me look like Guybrush and LeChuck (I loved how they looked the complete opposite of eachother in MI2 in terms of color. Maybe it's a hint.).
So I was watching the trailer for the bajillionth time, and...could that be James Arnold Taylor as Largo LeGrande? If it is, that vastly increases my faith in his performance. It's the way he says "fancy pants" that makes it sound like him.

Happens all the time.
I find that... disturbing. Can't say I noticed any of the 10 times I've watched the film though.
You and everyone else above the age of 12.
Monkey Island 2 has been added to the steam database!
Not available for pre-order yet though...
Not too long now.....

I wanna hear the intro theme.
SOMI:SE was multilanguage, but when you switched to the classic version it was English only...

It depends on where it's released first. If it's a simultaneous release, then definitely Telltale.
I'll prob get it for Steam as well though.

I think it's a safe bet to say that that's the official release date now...
:guybrush:
27 Days to go......
Would it come with bonus skull-headed pins, for that authentic voodoo stabbing experience?
I hope so, because I think I'd want the pins more than the actual doll.
and if you do will you upload pics?
Who knew that a comment of mine from a separate thread would actually be applicable here:
Haha, no, the statue would be bronze (or more fittingly, gold, but that might be a bit expensive for my income).
