Is that a problem? Wanting to immortalize Guybrush in a Romanesque style sculpture? As they did to many god-like figures in that influential age of bronze?
I guess that commission of mine may as well be put on hold then. Of course I could just throw a cloth over it whenever a monkey island fan visits my home.
EDIT: HOLY MONKEYS!!! That bit at the end is awesome!!!
oh yeah and the release date is 7 July according to the trailer...
Still can't get over how incredibly mind-blowing the end bit is!!!
The CG at the end - did anyone get a distinct EMI feel from it? Probably because that's the only time we've really seen a CG cutscene for MI. But even the way the two characters moved at the end.

I dunno, but it looked a damn sight better than EMI ever did.
Looked nice, but it was really, really, really out of sync. Ruined the comedic timing for me. I like that they've aged Chester 20 years though.:D
Also, sounds like we now know for certain what the main theme sounds like. And the instruments used in classic mode sound like MT-32 or one of the high-quality settings. Which is kinda disappointing for me, as I grew up on the crappy Windows Midi versions of the songs.
FABULOUS! The CG used at the end of the trailer definately beats EMI's CG, even though it's not representative of the game itself. So glad LucasArts are really making this project shine, and the game itself will do the same. This will be the best Monkey Island experience of all time.
Looks like the leaked videos we got a little while back were from a version of the game without the opening credits included, since I wondered for a while if they would be cut since that's how it appeared in the video, but no, the theme's there. And it's awesome!
On another random note, the Behind the Scenes video also seemed even more unfinished than the leaked videos, since there wasn't any grass blowing in the campfire, and Guybrush didn't animate when he stopped walking like he did in the leaked videos.
Here's the leaked videos from April/May.
They seem to be pretty much representative of what's in the game, except it doesn't have the opening credits or any iMuse effects (which LucasArts commented on a week or so ago and said that we "can be assured iMuse is working". That got me excited.
Because people would go ZOMGGGG 3D!!! I H8Z U LUKASARRRTS!!!11!!1 MI SHOULD ONLY B 2D!!!
We got it with Tales, even though Tales works because of the 3D for the most part, so doing it for MI2 would not only make the most protective fans complain, but it would also seem rather unnecessary over an already 2D game, the switch from 2D to 3D would be harder for the game to program, or at least I think it would be, and it would feel like EMI all over again. EMI for example, might as well have been 2D, I think they were on a budget or tight schedule or something.
Hmm, is Chester voiced by the same actress as Miss Rivers from MI4? It wouldn't surprise me, given the lengths they've been going to to get even the most obscure VAs back for the Special Editions. I still wanna see Charity James cameoing somewhere, though...
How about as Guybrush's mum?
Along with maybe Kevin Blackton as Guybrush's Dad because it would fit in with him also voicing LeChuck in human form, plus it makes the whole family connection thing a little more believable.
Something's telling me that's a good idea, but I don't really know how to explain it!
:P
I am really glad this is coming out on school holidays!
Dang, thanks to that trailer, I think if an EMI remake came about, they could really do it justice.

I'll feel better when there's a bit more of an 'official' announcement however.

The release of 'They Stole Max's Brain!' should get us through.
Being Austrian too, I can confirm this.
Also, I want such a doll.

Less than a month left.

I was just about to say the same thing.

Funny, I thought the name on the desk said 'cheater'.
I allways thought that. And I could never tell what gender he/she was/is
If LucasArts can get IMUSE to work with recorded audio, then they can get 2D to 3D switching to work.
Yeah, but that 3D thing was just for the trailer.
