Wow, man knows how to dress himself. I rather like the new sonic - the other one didn't have nearly enough bits on it. :p
Oops, that was a typo, i meant only the screwdriver and the jacket!

I wonder what they’re planning with this, are we going to see the eleventh doctor meet the eight in an episode of the current series? Or are we going to see the eight in his own direct to dvd adventures? Or maybe something completely different?
  • edited October 2010
I suppose it makes sense that he would change his clothes eventually. In the movie he was running around in a stolen Halloween costume

I have to say, I do like the jacket...it's pretty snazzy and a bit military looking. I do hope that this means we will get some long awaited Time War flashbacks. That would be awesome. :D
  • edited October 2010
It's worth noting that the new 'jacket' is basically the same as the old one, only it's now a leather coat rather than a velvet frock one.

Not sure if they've completely dropped the waistcoat or not, but we'll have to wait and see, I guess.

Downloads ftw, and no, still spending money on other things. One day, I will get Master, maybe if they go on sale like they did in July.

Ten are going on sale next month.

    The Sirens of Time
    Spare Parts
    The Bride of Peladon
    Bloodtide
    Jubilee
    Davros
    Master
    Forty Five
    Sword of Orion
    The Chimes of Midnight

    It's £7.50 for a CD+DL, £6 for a DL only, or you can buy all 10 for £60/£50
There was supposed to be an article about it all in the telegraph, with a free download of one of the episodes, but that's been cancelled. The article will still be on the telegraph website though.

Neither. The original Dr Who News Page announcement was wrong - this is NOT an official costume. If you watch the footage of the unveiling on youtube, it's clearly stated that this is an unofficial thing suggested by the guy running the convention, a plan into which Paul McGann enthusiastically got involved. It's also made clear in the footage that the costume is still being put together in any case. Which is lucky, because a lot of people online seem to hate his manbag.

God damn, that is literally every single one I wanted.

I think the chose the most popular ones. I was expecting bigger discounts for chirstmas, but this is still better than nothing I suppose.

Did anyone watch the Sarah Jane Adventures episodes this week; "The Death of the Doctor"? It had the line about the Doctors regenerations in it. He says he as 507 lives. I thought the ending was actually quite nice, but I didn't like most of the actual episode.

Death of the Doctor was an okay episode (yes, I agree, the end was the best bit). From the way that "507 regenerations" line was delivered, I'm almost certain that that was just the Doctor being the Doctor and lying through his teeth.

Well, Matt Smith was muttering the line through his teeth! I could barely make out what he said.

I'm pretty sure Russel T Davies is just trying to make the doctor whimsical and mysterious again by adding the question of regenerations. Fortunately, there is a chance Moffat will just pretend the doctor was refusing to accept he's nearing the end of his life.

I think the Regenoration limit was moved way up in the time war.

I think that might be an excuse they might use if the BBC big-wigs refuse to cancel the show in 10-15 years time (well, it is a huge earner, both in ratings and in merchandise).

Personally, would rather have them reach the Doctors regeneration limit, and end the show, then go back and film so episodes for Paul's Doctor, in is swanky new jacket/bag.
  • edited October 2010
Personally I would have rather them go to where the Doctor was supposed to die, have him regenerate, and have him spend at least half a series wonder how the hell that happened.

That would be quite good, if they kept the fact they had a replacement quiet. Of course the Daleks would probably be to blame, or something ¬_¬

But if the show is declining in quality, i would rather them end it there and then.

Turns out I was wrong about the BF sale pricing. Some of the CDs are only £5.

    It sounds fantastic.
Step inside the TARDIS this spring to take a starring role in your very own Doctor Who adventure at the Doctor Who Experience.
Opening in London on Sunday 20th February 2011 at London’s Olympia Two venue, the Doctor Who Experience promises to be an unmissable adventure featuring an exhilarating and unique walk-through experience and an
    awe-inspiring exhibition.
TICKETS GO ON SALE HERE AT 9AM ON THURSDAY 18TH NOVEMBER
SIGN UP TO BE THE FIRST TO RECEIVE UPDATES AND SPECIAL OFFERS!

You will be invited to step through a crack in time to become the Doctor’s companion on a journey through time and space. Your challenge will be to reunite the Doctor with the TARDIS encountering some of the best-loved and scariest monsters from the hit international television series, before exploring the wonders of Doctor Who at an out of this world exhibition.

The walk through experience is a fully contained interactive Doctor Who adventure, which puts you at the heart of the action, including special scenes filmed with the current Doctor Matt Smith, combined with amazing special effects and the chance to enter a recreation of the modern TARDIS interior, finishing with a breathtaking 3-D finale.

The exhibition will chart the success of the show from the first series in 1963 to the most recent episodes starring Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. Displays will include items never seen before including original costumes, Tom Baker’s TARDIS police box and two authentic TARDIS sets from the eras of David Tennant and Peter Davison. You will also be able to get up close and personal with iconic sets from recent series, including the Pandorica Box and Chair as well as confronting numerous monsters including several generations of the Daleks, Cybermen as well as Silurians an Ice Warrior and a Zygon.

Steven Moffat, Executive Producer and show runner for the hit television series comments: "The Doctor Who Experience is a fans dream come true - a fully interactive adventure that will allow viewers of the show to get as close as possible to some of the scariest monsters from the series. It will also be the first time that Doctor Who artefacts from all the show's 47 year history - classic and new - will be on display together, many of them being seen for the first time. And never mind that, this is the day the Doctor teaches you how to fly the TARDIS through time and space, and takes you into battle with all his deadliest enemies in a brand new adventure. So steady your nerves and bring your own sofa - the Doctor needs you!"

Doctor Who star, Matt Smith, who has recorded a series of special, new scenes exclusive to the Doctor Who Experience comments: ‘The whole concept of the Doctor Who Experience, which will give fans a chance to star in their very own Doctor Who adventure, is massively exciting! I hope as many people as possible enjoy boarding the TARDIS next year to embark upon an exhilarating and sometimes terrifying adventure through time and space‘.

THE DOCTOR WHO EXPERIENCE WILL BE AN UNMISSABLE ADVENTURE FOR THE WHOLE
    FAMILY TO ENJOY.

I think it's moving to Cardiff in 2012, Which is a little bit closer to the states, if that helps?! save you all of about $3 in flights, probably =p

Anyway, Sailorcuteness coolsome: you would make an awesome Metacrisis doctor! Which convention are you going to? Dimensions?

Well, theres one next week in newcastle, if thats near you. It's got quite a large list of attending Doctor who stars.
    Details

I haven't been to a convention before, but I am definately going to the 2013 50th anniversary convention. Previous anniversary conventions have apparently been incredibly fun (and involving alot of alcohol!).

@sausy Gibbon: Ah, thats too bad. But at least you got that new k9 series that aired over there! We never got that.

Yeah I say that show once (usually asleep on a Sunday morning) I think the story had something to do with an alien dressed in frilly lace that had a giant olive for a head.
