I... guess, but I have no shortage of stuffing, and it wouldn't really help me design a pattern for knitting. Actually, it would even make it more restrictive since it would have to fit around that particular box.

Nothing against Yare, but the real Cyrano was one sexy beast. Not only could he fight off dozens of men at a time, not only did he have many, many beautiful lovers, he wrote what some consider one of the first science fiction novels ever. Dude was awesome.

Awesome doesn't mean good-looking. I'm saying Robert looks better than this, that's all
    Cyrano.jpeg

But point taken, I guess. Robert is good-looking, awesome and sexy. Cyrano was at least awesome, and in your opinion sexy as well.

Actually, I consider "good-looking" and "sexy" as two different things :p While many people are both, I've known plenty of good-looking guys who had the sex appeal of a block of wood, and I've been attracted to men who would probably be called ugly. Sexiness is in the eye of the beholder, I suppose!

(And ... I do love big, bony noses and strong chins ... but the fact that he was a courageous genius doesn't hurt!)

So do I. Sorry if that wasn't clear. I consider Robert to be both. I'm unsure if I consider Bergerac sexy or not, but I know I don't find him good-looking. And they're both awesome.

I'll take a sexy, not good-looking guy over a good-looking, not sexy guy any day. But why settle for one when you can have both? :p

    This, a thousand times over.

So we're all agreed then? The next plushie should be Yare in a mousquetaire costume. Then everybody is happy!
  • edited April 2010
Ok! Anyone who works at telltale, please provide me with pictures of Yare (in PM) for totally reference purposes.
I'll find my own mousquetaire reference pictures, although I guess you can feel free to provide me with that, too.

The most important part is the hat. It must be floppy, with a square crown and big, poofy feather. There's also thigh-high boots and this bib thing they wear on the front and back, but yeah, the hat is paramount.

Well, I have a pattern for Puss in Boots I can probably take elements from and adapt:

Psss, you didn't remove the cat's tail.
  • edited April 2010
    Yare doesn't have a tail?!

Instead of the cross on the tunic/bib thing, could you stitch a TTG logo?
  • edited April 2010
Pretty sure Yare has a tail, avistew.
  • edited April 2010
Well, he has the regular one at least.

I can totally have the telltale logo. And I could even put a jar on his belt like some kind of grenade, and a sandwich somewhere.

Please, dear God, tell me you mean an empty jar ...

... what's the fun in that?

    EDIT: I have another idea.
I'll make another Yare plush. This one will be of a Sniper, have have the sniper-related stuff.

This way I won't soil Lena's precious musketeer fantasy.

    Will the jar "slosh"?

I'm going to KNIT it. I'm going to knit everything. But I'm working on the musketeer first. Then I'll have time to wonder how the hell do you knit a Razorback.

is there anyway you could make the Yare plush a Ring Pop dispenser?

  • edited April 2010
I can try making rings, and if I manage to, make a bunch and give him a whole bag full of them?

Cripes, I thought you meant make the plush itself a Ring Pop dispenser... that's sick. :p
  • edited April 2010
OH MY GOD!!!! is it possible Yare IS TREASURE CRAB?
  • edited April 2010
I foresee a whole line of toys.
    Yare Musketeer!
    Yare Sniper!
Yare Will You Marry Me/ Make Me A Sandwich convertible toy!
  • edited April 2010
You are just trying to find an excuse to be able to make his clothes removable... I am on to your game missy.
  • edited April 2010
Hey, that does sound much more practical that knitting him every time! Thanks for the suggestion.

(Honestly. I had started on the musketeer and all, and not naked. I should totally give him different outfits instead.)

EDIT: the down side being, I won't be able to have a picture with all of them, unless I knit a few extra naked Yares. Oh, the dilemma!

For some reason I think I can relate to how Pandora must have felt

This Spy costume continues to be awesome.

Hey, since you made the Sniper accessories, you might be able to help me when I make them in plushie form.
  • edited April 2010
Actually, that's a different red spy from the one in the cosplay thread. However, I'd gladly make props, I guess. lol

You've shown me that picture before though. And it was awesome the first time already (although, as I said the first time, I prefer the colour in the picture with the sitting Sniper).
And I was planning on knitting the props but thought you could help me since you'd know what they are, and what difficulties you personally ran into, and stuff like that :)
Of course a lot of things will be different but I think that would help. Plus you could tell me if I do them wrong xD.

You know, it'd be wrong to make a Yare plushie and not make a green-dino-form Nik as well. They must to do battle for all time ... as plushies!

Actually, since you're asking, I'm planning to make a Nikki with a dinosaur outfit, too.

I now envision the entire Telltale staff as chibified, yarn dolls ...

Telltale babies, we make our dreams come true!
Telltale babies, we'll do the same for yu-ooh!

You find a way to create an opening (complete with lyrics and tune) and I provide the plushies.

Then I'll have to make plushies of forumites so we can finally have that movie :p
