So apparantly there will be another free app besides excitebike.
Pokedex 3d.
Its a 3d pokedex with the 150 pokemon from Black and White.
But you only get 16 and the rest you get through trades and QR codes.
That is a fail since QR codes can be found on the internet, and streetpass would have been better.
But it is free I guess.

Wow awesome.
Maybe this could be a taste of the 3DS Pokemon games. Crossing my fingers for AR support. Do you have a source for this, btw?
Never mind, here is one, complete with screenshots: http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/news/26460
And apparently it does support Augmented Reality
I heard the 3DS browser doesn't support flash or HTML 5.
Its to be expected but come on! Why are these companies being so stupid about it all.
Everyone uses flash, just bite the damn bullet and move on.
I never used my Wii browser due to the lack of support, so I'm porbably not going to use this one either...
But I do look forward to excite bike though.
(I hope I can get some stuff for my 3DS when its out. Final Fantasy Legends (game boy Sa-Ga games) would be a nice RPG, but knowing Nintendo we are likely to get a lackluster launch of virtual console stuff...)

The Wii browser did support flash, although an old version that could only run YouTube videos and other simple stuff.

Which is exactly the point!
Old flash might as well not be flash at all.
When I surf the net I watch a lot of stuff on youtube and flash sites.
I remember the Wii being so darn slow with everything.
Had to keep clearing out the tiny cache to do even basic stuff on it.
Shame with the youtube:(
Also looks like I was wrong with how the pokedex 3d works.
You get 3 random pokemon a day via spotpass,
you CAN get them through streetpass.
Qr codes as well.
I will avoid them, unless a pokemon I really want is on a QR code.
I want a 3ds. But I wish it was at most the same price as the DSI xl or at least 50 bucks cheaper! That money could be put towards a game. Why must the 3ds be so expensive! They make a ton of money as it is! Nintendo is like a billionare company, can't they make the cost of 1 thing they make cheap? If it were another company it would probably be 180- 200 dollars total!

3d technology aint cheap.
If it were Sony it would be more expensive.

The base cost of producing each unit is $101, a $15 markup from the DSi. Obviously there are R&D costs, but the actual "3D tech" in the unit can conceivably only account for a portion of the $15 increase.

You know in some countrys. $15 is a lot.
Therefor it still aint cheap:D

But then you get the built in games and apps beside the actual system. Don't get me wrong, you're definitely right that $149 over the production price is expensive, but it's not a completely bare-bones system.

That actually isn't my point at all. A lot goes into that $149(Research and Development and marketing, mainly, but other costs also certainly apply). They aren't taking $149 profit on each unit and to say they are would be silly.
But there is a $80 price difference between the launch DSi and the launch 3DS, and the idea that it's because "3D tech isn't cheap" doesn't really cut it, because apparently the units themselves only cost $15 more to make parts-wise. And dropping all of that cost rise on the "3D tech" is silly without seeing a full breakdown of parts and prices. Granted, the 3D cost could be HUGE and they could have cut costs in other areas to compensate down to only a $15 price difference, but whatever the case it's not the hardware ITSELF that accounts for the price. Once you take out the hardware cost difference, you still have $65 that you have to account for. All indications are that R&D costs for the 3DS were fairly large though, so the price difference between launch DSi and launch 3DS may mainly be due to that, and we could see the price drop to DSi levels when those costs are paid off.
I hope there are a few other nice things to get to help me buff out my collection since I still only have 3 3DS games, two of which are fighting games!
But at least I got Zelda to look forward to.
Hurry up Nintendo and release Star Fox 64 3D already. I want to shoot stuff!
Well, that update was dissapointing. There's nothing in the VC I want (and if I did, it's very overpriced. £3.80 for a black and white game I already own? No thanks. I'll just go play a brand new fully coloured game on my ipod for 59p. The browser is a tad slow, and doesn't support flash, which really, really sucks. And excitebike isn't exciting.
Link's Awakening (presumably the Deluxe version) is out on the eShop now. $5.99 kind of breaks the pricing scheme that I was hoping for, but I suppose that it is worth more than most NES games... if it had been $4.99 it would have been an instant buy, now it's probably going to be a "think about it for a few hours and then buy." I could see the price turning off a few of the people-who-haven't-played-it people they should be targeting, though.
Edit: oh hey, 3DS trailers from E3 are on there. Neat

It's not on the UK store yet.
Also, I've heard you can only top up with a minimum of £10, which sucks. As it stands I shall be waiting until there is something Else I want too. But £6 is alot of money to pay just for the privellage of being able to play it with headphones (I have the original, but I don't play it, as I hate forcing others listening to me playing games on my GBA SP.)
Also, the 3D trailers aren't up here either. There's an OoT 3D one, but it's very compressed.
To be honest, I'm not really sure. I have been a big Nintendo fan since childhood, but thier charisma and popularity has been lagging a little due to less hardcore games. But since I've heard that Orcarina of Time was gonna be on the 3DS, I'm dying to get my hands on it; I bet anyone thinks the same way. I would like to have it for my birthday, but I also want an iPad 2 and a new XBOX360(my old one just broke down:() I hope I make a good decision, and fast.

Then theres the Playstation Vita and the WiiU on the way.
Have fun with that.
I took some 3D-screenshots from some Telltale games (mainly The Devil's Playhouse, spoiler alert!) to be watched on the 3DS. You can download the pack HERE. Just put the files into the \DCIM\xxxNIN03\ folder of your SD card, whereas the xxx stands for a three-digit increment number starting at 100... 101, 102, etc. (you would want to make a new folder so that your already taken photos won't be overwritten).
I guess the 3DS would lend itself perfectly to the look of Telltale's games... don't know if it's powerful enough though.

The 3DS's browser can view MPO pictures integrated in websites directly in 3D afaik. Would be nice if you could upload them on a nice HTML site so we can browse that site. That'd make it more accessible and it'd be a nice test of the browser's capabilities.

Although it's not a nice HTML-page, but the fastest one I managed to whip up
Awesome
You should try if it still works if you use <img> tags, then you could have an image gallery for easier browsing. I really hope people start taking advantage of this feature sooner or later.

I took it to thor and got nothing.
I created a Mii of Gman(not me) from Half Life 2 with the camera feature.
This is what I got.
Looks more like Cave Johnson to me.
I thought that was tuesday...

"Monday evening", Pacific Standard Time.
Hey the 3ds did the work, I just used a picture of gman.
Actually the mii it made was a lot worse, mainly because he was smiling and had wide eyes.
