I have no urge or inclination to get a 3DS....or at least I didn't until I heard about OOT 3D. Yes, it's a cheap way to sell a console, but I don't care. I'm a Zelda fanboy and I will buy all the games.
I still am only barely aware the thing is actually already out. The 3DS, I mean. This thread and the odd bit of news about it selling units are my only reminder that this thing actually exists in the world. I still haven't even seen the thing in person.

Thats because Nintendo has the worse marketing department known to man.
They have a new commercial out for the DS lite.
The only time ive seen this thing advertised is on the Ocarina of Time commercial.
This is the main reason why the PSV will outsell the 3ds, Nintendos pore marketing. If Nintendo advertised this thing, we could see an interesting handheld war between the 2 handhelds, but so far nothing.
And this, kids, is why you don't follow Nintendo's marketing strategy. However, this is a fantastic commercial.
I'd just like to point out that the game looks much better than in that trailer. The initial intro was low quality, but when it swapped to cutscenes (like the one in the sand temple), I was amazed.
As someone who played the game to death as a child, and then again in my teenage years on the Gamecube (lots of times. I've probably completed the game around 5-6 times including master quest!), I'm amazed at how new it feels. I want to explore every nook and cranny again. I also used the 3DS suspend game and take notes feature for the first time, to make note of a bombable wall, and to note the order the deku bushes have to be killed in the first temple (2-3-1: Twenty three is number one!: I really can't wait to run around Hyrule, and visit the ranch at sunset again.
Having said that, I'm still only part of the way through the Deku Tree.

Stop... stop saying these things :(
I think i'm gonna join the pup in the morning vigil of waiting by the letterbox for the postman.

Is it sad Ive still got that "twenty three is number one" thing memorized?

Same here, except that I once tried out a display model at Target, which I saw one time I was in there, after which it vanished.

Yeah, that's weird too! I haven't seen a SINGLE display model. As far as I'm concerned, the existence of the 3DS could very well be an unfounded internet rumor.

Yeah, that and the E3 trailer (which was viewable on the 3DS in 3D) were great.
Speaking of the last one, Nintendo should also make their 3D trailers available online for anyone that can see it. Makes no sense to try to sell the 3D of a game to the people that already got 3D rather than impressing the people that don't so they buy both the game and console.

Have you guys even gone to Best Buy since the thing came out?
Have you guys even gone to Best Buy since the thing came out?
Why would I want to go to Best Buy? Their prices are(ironically) outrageous, their staff don't know anything, they always try to upsell installation services for things as simple as CONSOLE SYSTEM UPDATES, and they conflicted with NewEgg's use of the word "Geek" along with a computer power symbol and the color blue, things they think they own. If I want electronics, I go to Newegg, Tiger Direct, or Fry's for that retail "place that actually exists in physical space and you go there and the stuff you buy is in front of your face" charm.
Lon Lon ranch is beautiful at sunset. Brilliantly so. I just wish there was a screenshot function (which there almost is with the note taking facility. It displays a screenshot in the top screen, and the note on the bottom. You can then save it to an SD card, but when viewed, all that is shown is the note, and the screenshot is replaced with a screenshot of whatever game you are playing at that time. ¬_¬)
Also, the days/nights feel shorter. I spent half the day killing a peahat, before having to roll across the field at high speed to make it to the ranch in time. I'm having great fun just messing around, hiding in the hay/straw and stuff. It's brought back some awesome memories of when I was younger.
Also Also: I hear some people got hats with their pre-orders. Cool link hats.

I will get started.
1.They only gave me $10 for my gamecube.
2.They tried charging me $2 a game for every 3ds game I was interested in, and by interested, I mean heard of.
3.None of the ones in my STATE are doing the OoT preview event tomarow.
4.They have terrible customer service.
*I* would have paid more for a Gamecube, and I think that console is shit.
Exactly. Still don't know why I even did that. Defenently a derp moment for me.
EDIT:Ok to be fair, the sold the thing for $15, so its not like they made a $70 profit off of me.
Gamestop tries to get you to put a few dollars down to "reserve" a game every time you go there.
Ah, yes, I know how Gamestop's reserve system works. Wasn't really sure if that's what he was talking about because it was worded weirdly. So, they tried to get you to reserve every 3DS game? That's... odd.
Nothing is free, but a birthday gift is considerable closer to being 'free' than if he bought the thing himself. Someone else is doing the paying then giving it to him, so he won't actually spend money on it. Therefore, he gets it 'free', opportunity costs aside.
Good to see EB Games kept the Gamestop love when they made the subsidiaries down here in Australia. I went to put in a pre-order for Ocarina of Time 3D, asked to confirm that it would be an Australian version with an Australian Club Nintendo card, and you'd think I killed the guy's sister and pissed on his mother's grave.
I almost walked out, and since OoT3D was the only time in a year I've considered buying something from EB Games (due to the pre-order bonuses) it's only renewed my vow not to buy anything from them ever again.

Just browse to http://soundtracks.mixnmojo.com/3D/ with your 3DS browser and you're good to go!
I just tried it. It works great! They came out really well.
EDIT: I've just seen the one of Club 41. There are so many layers to it! To anyone who hasn't checked it out yet, you should! It's awesome!
I've posted the link somewhere (hope you don't mind) so it should get some more hits.
In other news, a trailer for "Th Green lantern" movie is in the eShop in the UK, as an app. Still no E3 trailers though.
I can confirm the trailer is in the US eshop as well.
Those are awesome.
Im also glad the browser has a feature to save photos. I am so keeping those.
Excuse me, I believe you meant "geniuses".
No. They are just so awesome, that being uncapitalised geniuses isn't enough.

How would you get it free???
People, by cultural customs, obtain gifts on their birthdays.
I have no idea what the hell this means. Explain?

Now get one so you can watch that footage in 3D!
