I saw a massive Dalek on the back of a trailer in town today, I tried to snap a photo and realised my new phone doesn't have zoom . Rippin' :(

Thing was bout 15 ft high though, no idea where it was going or why

I forgot to mention when Friar mentioned Cluedo: another Who fun fact; Tom Baker played Professor Plum in the old panel version of Cluedo for Series Three. I watched the series on Youtube, it was pretty great.

If you ever see him again, get him to sign a picture of Jon Pertwee as 'The Doctor'. It'd be hilarious.

I prefer to keep them as regular music, partly so I don't feel so lame about having 0 music on my iPod (I BOUGHT IT TO STORE TELEVISION SHOWS). Also, I like having the individual tracks for various reasons, partly because I always rename them to match which gives me a mindless task to do whilst listening so I don't go frolicking on the internet.

Also, here's a Who fun fact: did you know that when Colin Baker was first fired in 1986 that one of John-Nathan Turner's ideas was to bring Patrick Troughton back for a season with Jamie ending with him regenerating into a woman, who would continue on until eventually turning into Jon Pertwee? Oh JNT you so silly.

My old ipod was exactly the same. Now I have an iPod touch it's got a few games on it too, but apart from that, nothing but doctor who episodes, soundtracks and audio plays.

@JedExodus: Maybe it's going to the Big finish day convention? There's a dalek that's usually outside a shop near me (in corsham), which I first saw in a driving lesson, and nearly mounted the kerb looking at it!

@Pony BoneYou should have said :"Oh, that's ace!" to counteract his pun! My uncle saw Colin Baker at a football match once. Not to speak to mind.

Also, it looks like there won't be any additional items in the BFD sale today :(

*edit* I've just been checking the files on "And the pirates". It's odd. The first two parts seem to be almost companion chronicles (no start music, and starting off with evelyn talking as an observer.),whilst parts 3/4 start with the music, and presumably are more like the usual ones.

Well, Part Four is suddenly a Musical, which is why everyone loves it, I believe, if it helps. I listened to Seasons of Fear and it has this 'Paul McGann is narrarating' mechanic for no real reason.

In defence of JNT, that wasn't actually his idea. The idea that Patrick Troughton should return, then regenerate into a woman, was a proposal from Sydney Newman of what he would do if he could take over the show. Not sure where Frazer Hines and Jon Pertwee fit in, though. Casting a woman was one of the fake ideas that JNT used to threaten fans with, of course.

What I meant by that was that the Woman could regenerate into someone else, etc. until eventually unveiling then they'd be turning into Jon Pertwee. It'd ruin hte continuity of, say, The Five Doctors where Five says he's regenerated four times, but who cares about that!

Lets just put the whole idea in the same pile as "Talking cabbage as an assistant!" and "Let's not make a Paul McGann series!".

I'm currently working my way through my audio CD collection, and putting them in iTunes (which can handily stitch the tracks together if they are on a CD!). Zagreus is an awesome one to have a physical copy of. It's a cardboard foldy out thing with three discs. The first disc has a picture of the tardis behind it, the second: Jon Pertwee, and the third: The death zone. Plus, they gave each of the episodes names, which was nice (Wonderland, Heartland, and Wasteland)

Just so you know, the end of the second Divergent Season (the Next Life) is six parts/3 discs with a neat Box as well, if you want it physically because of that.

Interestingly, there is a Five Six-parter called the Game that's on two discs, which is odd. I do not like how Neverland and Zagreus have the double-length episodes, and am considering editing in intro/outtro music myself. It makes more sense for, say, when it is done in the Lost Stories because it's sticking to the format Colin had, but when it's done for the main range it just is pointless.

Well, it with zagreus at least, it make sense. Each disc is pretty much completely different, focussing on a different doctor. I think it works well as a three parter. Although, I suppose you could split it.

I've only got the Audios in the "Eighth Doctor collection" box set to copy across and edit now! Yay! Unfortunately, that's about 8 discs. ¬_¬

As a side note, deciding on which cover art to use for some of the EDA two parters (I stick them together in one album/book) is HARD. Do I Go for cybermen or Killer Office block? Red dalek or green dalek? Decisions.

Oh, and thanks for the tip off! That's an audio I'd have to buy seperately anyway (outside of the 12 releases a sub would get), so i'll endeavour to get a CD copy!

Again, I found The Four Doctors (or what I managed to listen to of it) to be incredibly boring and repetitive. So... yeah. Maybe waiting for a subscription isn't the wisest decision.

I was actually considering getting the CD of Zagreus [so I'd have something to chuck at the wall after listening to it] because of the neat box.

Well, it works out around the same price as just getting the McGann audios from that part of the range, but I also get a few others too. Plus, "The four doctors" is worth a fair bet on eBay too!

And zagreus is awesome if you give it a chance. It definately needs several listens to appreciate it fully though.

In other news: I finally finished reorganising my collection! Yay! 41 Audioplays, 5.68 GB, 3.2days worth of stuff. Eep.

Oh yeah, and McGann seems to have been engraved in Mount Rushmore. Why has no-one noticed this?!
    Mount-Rushmore.jpg
Once again, the BBC's marketing budget blows all others out of the water.

And whilst looking for a picture of Paul recording to use as the cover for my eighth doctor collection bonus CD album, I stumbled across this.

I love how you figured that was worthy of posting here. Anywho, I'm sort of just realizing that listening to one audio a day means I have only 11 left, and I was intending for it to last me the few weeks while I buy some DVDs and Pick up the first batch of Fourth Doctor content.

    Also: this picture should work:
    mcgann_mcoy.jpg
    or this one:
    mccoy_mcgann.jpg
Both are from the recording of 'The Minister of Chance', and are about as good as you'll get.

:D Well, fortunately I have to exercise a lot of tact when dealing with people in production. Although in the brief time I spoke to him, I got the impression he was quite funny and didn't mind people taking the piss out of him.

That's the one I ended up choosing. Last time I used this image: paul-mcgann.JPG, as the photo's you'd posted hadn't been taken.
I finally got round to re-arranging my DVD/CD collection (instead of a nice organised row with a bunch dumped on my table). The good thing is that It doesn't fit on my shelf properly, so I've had to double stack it. But I can't put it in chronological order that way, due to the size of "The keys to time", as it leaves a large gap. I'll just have to go out and buy some 1-3 DVD's! Truly a shame. Oh, and I now another series of McGann audios on CD to make them stack properly to the height of the Boxset I have. Yay!

In other news, they've updated the mini-London at Legoland windsor. It now features an Ood, A silent (I think), Amy, The doctor and a silent. It also has a silent.

    A silent? I don't see a Silent. All I remember seeing is... hmm... I... don't know...

The BBC Episode Guide for each story has a Double Entendre section for some reason. This one caught my eye, from The Two Doctors:
Shockeye : [Describes Peri] "A fine, fleshy beast"

Heh, I'm ordering quite a bit of DVDs this week because DVDPlanet[dawt]com has them at ridiculous prices (almost every story released before 2011 for $10). So I'll pick up Revenge of the Cybermen, Attack of the Cybermen, The Invasion of Time, and The Rescue/The Romans Box Set for ~$43, and The Mind Robber is coming to me from Amazon, which means I now own at least two stories per Doctor except for McCoy (god damn why are they waiting until next year to release all the stories I want), and it will boost my episodes I need to watch count to 26, which I think should last me a good amount of time. The problem is, the shipping on the site can take up to 28 days...

I went into my nearest CEX (enterainment exchange), to sell my Heroes blu-ray boxset, and discovered that someone had traded in a large collection of doctor who DVDs! (To put it into perspective: More DVD's then you'd find in the doctor who section in an average HMV (Largest UK DVD retailer)). So I ended up trading the boxset in and getting the boxset "Manequin Mania", Earthshock, Robot and Planet of Evil, in the hope it would plug the hold in my DVD stack. Turns out it actually made it worse, as I had to re-arrange it a bit. Oh well, there's still more there if I need some!

@tredlow: I assume you spent the last two weeks in close proximity to a Silent.

Earthshock is the first classic story I saw! It's... okay. Because of aforementioned first story-ness, I did not know how it ended, so yeah. I'm holding off on a purchase as it's a likely cantidate for a Special Edition, which is also why I'm holding off on the other McCoy that's out that I want, The Curse of Fenric.

I've already seen Earthshock. It was the first one I saw too. Well, Part one was (Part one was given away free with a newspaper The Sun). I can't remember much of it, other then the ending, so I'm hoping it'll be almost like anew episode when I rewatch it.

As for the heroes boxset, I found that it lost it's appeal and seemed really slow when you knew what was going to happen, and the answer to every twist. Plus, I think 5 doctor who serials outweighs 4 series of Heroes! Even though I've already seen three of them (both the manequin mania ones, but I wanted to complete my collection of regeneration/new doctor episodes. I just need "the war games", "Planet of the spiders (Already seen), and "the 10th planet" now.

But The Special Edition of the TV Movie has to be essential to every McGann fan!

Also, you own the Twin Dilemma? Why? It's the Colin Baker serial I legitimately only want because of the special feature about the Comics.

Anyone want to help me organize the pre-revival Netflix episode packs(that mimic the DVD releases) into something resembling a chronological order? :O

Well, as I'm sure you know, 108 episodes featuring the First and Second Doctors are missing. 2 from Two have been animated, and 2 from One are coming next year as well. The difference between the classic series and the new series is they don't really have an arc. They're done as serials, which are mostly self contained. Occasionally, there is a strong narrative link such as The Key To Time Season, which is Six Stories all about finding the Six key to Times, or the Trial of a Time Lord, which is 3 stories with a framing device that gets two episodes to itself at the end.

To be honest, you can just hop around the classic series. There are some mini-arcs that still need to be released, most notably that a good portion of the Third Doctor and Master Arc are yet to be released.

In regards to streaming, (going completely off memory, some have probably been removed by now/I forgot some) the order is the Aztecs, The Mind Robber, Spearhead from Space, The Three Doctors (the sound is off), The Green Death, The Ark in Space (this is both Russell T Davies' and Steven Moffat's Favorite Story Period), a few of the Key To Time season but not the whole arc that I can't remember, City of Death, The Visitation, Earthshock, Caves of Androzani (this is considered the best story ever, and was humorously followed by what is considered the worst story ever), and The Curse of Fenric. The vast majority of these stories are considered among the best of their time, and the only one that's sub-par is The Visitation and possibly the bits of the Key to Time.

Nothing about order, but dailymotion has some of the best fan reconstructions of the lost episodes that I've ever seen. Just search for lost episodes and they'll come up.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. It's available free (digitally) somewhere. I think on MSN video, or seesaw. That was also my first experience with Colin, so I avoided his serials like the plague for some time.
As for the McGann movie special edition, It's on my "To get list" when it drops to £15. Considering I already own the movie, and the other two titles are available to watch on the internet for free, I'm reluctant to spend a lot of money on the set.

Oh yeah, I listened to "Loups Garoux" today. I hated it. It was confusing as to who the characters were, and what their motives were. It definitely needs relistening to at some point.

And I listened to "The apocalpse element" the other day too. That was confusing for the first two parts, but after that, it improved infinitely.

Bernice Summerfiedl and the Criminal Code - Cool.
