Yes. We must all bow in awe to The Rory. He's like The Many, only more awesome.
Anyone know when Torchwood is gonna start airing? It'll make a good stop-gap while we're waiting for more Who, and the BBC's having a hissy fit over when to start showing it. The week after the States?
The day after, 9pm on Saturday I believe. July 8th. We get it on the 7th.

Cool. Thanks.
If you're a grown-up, the mid-series break in Who doesn't seem all that bad, since we have Torchwood to tide us over. It's the little ones I feel bad for. Although, to be honest, Nu-Who's seemed less and less aimed at children as it's gone on. Am I alone in thinking that?

Stereotypical pirate episode says hi.
But yeah, I think the thinking is "the kids who were fans in 2005 are now 6 years older", so they think they can do more mature things. Like repeated sex jokes involving bunk beds.
I'm not saying the show being a little more mature is a bad thing, I was just noting it. My biggest problem is how freakin' complicated it is now. I miss the stand-alone episode days. Now everything's gotta have call-backs or be part of the grand picture. What's wrong with a little fun now and then?
I absolutely hate Torchwood becuase of it's overtness. I understand for adults, but adult doesn't mean bring up sex every other line and unveil that the guy you stole the identity of was apparently gay which has no consequence on anything. I wish that a decent network had picked up the show, but it's one of the networks that lets people curse and be nude and stuff without consequence. Also, it's commercial-less, which could mean 60 minute episodes.
It added a romantic sub plot to fill up sometime. Plus he can be gay with out needing a plot reason.
Yes, but I'd relate it to the revelation the Doctor showed up to Elton's house on the day his mother died in Love and Monsters in that it was a pointless reveal that actually has no impact on the episode.

Sounds like you've only watched series one. The second series and Children of Earth were much better in handling their adult elements.

I completely disagree. I watched two episodes from Series One (The One Just Before Cyberwoman and Captain Jack Harkness) and two from Series Two (the first two with Martha) and the first two of Children of Earth, did not care for any of it. Shows like these are why we can't have good things. It's a shame the better Doctor Who Spinoff that is Produced by RTD cannot be continued, because I much preferred having that.
You really should have stuck with Children of Earth, it got amazingly good around episode 4. I hear there's still a shrine in Cardiff Bay.
But if you're not into the show, I can't force you. I just think the more mature themes were better handled the longer the show went on.
For what it's worth, the trailer for Miracle Day didn't inspire me with all that much confidence, but I will still watch it (along with most of us here, I'd wager) and add my thoughts.
I could say the same about most modern films and TV, if I wanted to be cynical. But hey ho.
The difference being the amount of time it takes to do so. In Lost, for example, Nine of the original thirteen cast members were still regular cast members in the last season.(In fact, everyone eventually showed up but that's just Lost being Lost) Despite a few people dying, it was done slowly and they knew it was ending, which RTD seems to be unable to cope with going by the End of Time so I'd expect Torchwood to keep killing off most of it's new characters a season until it's cancelled.

I think part of the reason for that is the budget. If a star wants to leave, they're constrained on how much of a financial incentive (i.e. bigger salaries) they can give. Whereas the big US networks can.
Personally i'm a huge fan of torchwood series 2/3. They managed to tackle some really mature themed, and I felt they did it really well. When tosh died, that was the first time I'd ever cried at a TV show. Ianto too.
I'll admit their were a fair few dodgy moments (like the majority of series 1), but I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Rory killed the doctor?!
Wait, does this mean donna is the doctor/rivers daughter?
No, it means River is Donna.
Randomally found myself in a store with buy two, get one on everything, so I chose to get The Invasion of Time, Attack of the Cybermen, and Frontios. This is convenient, as I am just about done with all the Who I own. :P
Also: Peter Davison is on Law and Order UK? Alongside Martha? *brain explodes*

But wilfred is donna's grandfather! Her father died some time between "the runaway bride" and "partners in crime" (as the actor died).
Invasion of time is pretty decent, but the first half is confusing (by intentiob) moreso if you have little to no knowledge of gallifrey, like I did!
I still have plenty of stuff to watch, but unfortunately without my laptop, I don't really have a way of watching them!
John Benton was also underwelmed by the TARDIS when asked if hes going to say its bigger on the inside he said "Well, that's pretty obvious, isn't it".
*edit*
It seems that the only dvds that work with my old portable dvd player are the classic doctor who ones (yay!) so I watched "spearhead from space" which featured a man imitating a dogs barking off screen. It seems the bbcs budget can stretch to eleohants (the ark) but not dogs!
As a side note: I HATE touchscreen typing. Boo. So please excuse any typo's.
Tom Baker, on his website, said he was involved in a BIG project at BF and that he feels much better about the other chaps then he used to when asked about a multi-doctor story. Mayhaps a 'The Other Five Doctors'?
Also; Benedict Cumberbatch is Tom Baker circa-1970s in disguise.

The recent Big Finish Day podcast saw some fan ask Nick Briggs if this was likely, and he said no, because he interpreted Tom Baker's response to an earlier enquiry ("Well, *you'd* like me to do it" or some such) as an effective refusal.:(

That was going by what he said in a Podcast recorded in Early May. January of this year he said he wouldn't do audios for Big Finish. Six months later, he's signed on to do 18 discs and was prepared to do an additional six with Lis Sladen. Amazing how fast an opinion can change, eh?

Perhaps, but unless he's told Big Finish he's changed his mind and they've comissioned and written something in the week or so since the recording of the recent podcast where they reiterated he wasn't interested, it's not quite so likely that anything's going on with them!

No, the way they said in the podcast was that during the podcast in May Tom said that. Seeing as this is a potential plan for 2013, it would make sense to try and keep it secret so expectation doesn't get the better of some.
Put it this way "Vincent and the doctor" is amongst the best episodes of the show ever, "a christmas carol" is the best christmas special so far, and the silence from "the impossible astronaut/day of the moon" are the best villain since the weeping angels. Oh, and Matt is the only doctor to be nominated for a BAFTA. So yes, keep watching!

Wow, those are indeed awesone. And i've just been struck with an awesome idea involving my 3ds augmented reality, my mii, a doctor and a Tardis...
Heh, apparently Torchwood will be edited down for the BBC Broadcast because some scenes do not match the Beeb's standards. I expect intense Captain Jack sex scenes or intense Product Placement during intense Captain Jack sex scenes. The shoe, as they say, is on the other foot.

Boo.
I saw it on the front of a TV mag today. It was followed by the cpation "Jack and Gwen's American Adventure". ¬_¬

I read the summary of COE anyway. It's depressing because it can be depressing and they have killed off 3/4 the main cast by now.

*See's slide saying that everyone but Rory has been astonished by the Tardis*
WRONG! WRONG I TELL YOU! Wilfred Mott was not astonished by the Tardis, he only thought it could be more clean!
Wilfred Mott is Rory from the future

I also believe Colin Baker was recently on an episode of Doctors.

I saw a few episodes at the beginning and I thought he did a great job, (certainly had an interesting take on the Doctor).
I need to catch up you see, and I'm just wondering if its worth my time thats all.
Am I cool now?
PS: Notice the damaged Cyberman in the background behind 11.

The first Doctor was a Pikachu!?
woops that "was" looks like a "has" zoomed out on the ipod screen. So apologies for copying coolsome.
Nope.avi, he owns a Pikachu.
This validates my theory that Pokeballs are bigger on the inside.
...but you guys probably knew about that already.
