As much as I want to see Johm Barrowman stark naked in bed with the whole cast and a weevil, drinking a bottle of pepsi, I think I might just cope without it.

Now get THAT out of your head!

I think it would be a bottle of Coke, because Coke commercials generally don't have much to do with how the beverage actually tastes.

No... actually, on second thought it would probably be a Carl's Jr. hamburger, because they like to have risque advertisements anyways.

...I'm thinking way too much into this, aren't I? I'll stop now.

So Torchwood has the exact same spot in this week's Entertainment Weekly as Doctor Who has 8 weeks ago. This is degrading to Doctor Who.

Also; Big Finish Day 2 is 8 months away. Better start saving some cash... :P

Double also; Warrior's Gate: 7/10 Lollipops, with the last scene with Romana getting a 10/10 despite it's rushed nature merely because of Tom's wonderful last line to her. Attack of the Cybermen: 8/10. This story is easily the most violent episode of classic who. It's the infamous 'Doctor kills small legion of Cybermen with Machine Gun' episode. It was also really dark. It also is a pseudo-sequel to The Invasion in that it features Cybermen from that story that have been in hiding, and to The Tenth Planet in a pretty grand way too. The Mind Robber, based on Part One: 9/10. Will watch rest soon(ish).

Triple also; still haven't seen 6x03. I think I'll wait until about exactly the midway point in the break before watching it. That way it's like a fairly lame special episode! I also still have to watch the two slitheen stories, Runaway Bride, and Fires of Pompeii. I stopped watching Tooth and Claw around 1/3 of the way in, it was so terrible, if that counts.

Quadruple also; Audio Reviews! :D Time of the Daleks; 4/10. very lolwut. CC: The Pyralis Effect was very good, 8/10, Lalla Ward is lovely. Logopolis Audiobook up to Chapter Six: Christopher Bidmead has one of the nicest voices I've ever heard. 8/10.

Quintuple also; this is my new gif I send to people to express sadness:

Oh cool! That looks really - *around $750* wait what. Seriously. What a waste. You could buy 35+ Classic Who DVDs for that price!

...but you guys probably knew about that already. ;)
Nah nah nah nah Nah nah nah nah DOCTOOR!

@Ribs: But that $750 includes a voyage to another planet, another universe, Renaissance France AND Full English Breakfasts! :p

If I was free on those dates, or had £500 spare, I'd definately be considering it. If I could persuade a few of my friends to join...

In other news, my portable DVD player decided to try and eat "The time monster" last night, which is actually pretty awesome as a Pertwee serial. Unfortunately there's now a scratch on the disc which affects the doctor's awesome philosophical speech about an oldman under a tree at his childhood home. My computer was repaired today, so hopefully it'll be able to read through it.

    *edit*
It seems the edited torchwood thing works both ways. We apparently have some scenes that the US won't have.

Heh, it's A. To compensate for the cutting down and B. because some things are too weird or unknown to American Audiences to air here. The DVDs are going to be like Blade Runner with like 10 cuts.

I think the extra scenes will probably be more to counteract the missing scenes (they say what happens, for example).

Oh yeah, I've started watching Tom Baker's first serial. Part one was pretty awesome, and Tom's first few scenes mad me laugh.

Oh, Oh yeah: I was listening to the radio earlier today, and then Jon Pertwee came on. Creepy.

Heh, I watched Nash from TGWTG's review of Robot, and the thing about those reviews is it has a bad habit of making me move the story to a low priority because I more or less know what happens. It's the reason I didn't get Time and the Rani, at least (thank god for that)

So I decided I'll pick up a CC Sub from 5.7 (Peri 2-discer, has wonderful reviews) to 5.12 (most recent one, has wondeful reviews) later this week when I have teh monies. I'm also pondering picking up another EDA, as I've been neglecting them in favor of the slightly cheaper CCs. Each one of the ones in the sub have had some glowing things said about them, except for 5.11 Ferril's Folly, which I don't care much for anyway because Romana I. The fun of the Sub is that I essentially got one release for free, so I'll pretend it's that one.

Double Edit: Heh, I could just pick up a 12 sub from 5.03 to 6.02. That's solve my problems qutie well and add another 3 hours worth of entertainment then if I just bought three more EDAs.

Triple edit: Torchwood is airing 9pm on Thursdays in the UK starting July 14th. Heh.

I was just about to post the UK timings. ¬_¬
Wait... that's almost a week behind the US! Oh well, I guess i'll have to make do with the fact we're getting some more radio dramas, which will actually go on the radio, so I can listen on the way to work. It's only a small consolation, given that they'll appear on the iPlayer for all to hear, but it'll have to do!

Which of the EDA's have you got? Just the first two?

I finished watching Robot last night, and it was pretty good. Worth watching. Even more so because I had seen the robot in the flesh (well, aluminium). My mother caught a glance of it over my shoulder (it was on my laptop), and her usual statement of "Oh! It's Sarah-Jane! She's my favourite" turned to "Aw, it's sarah-jane". That was sad, and made me miss her (and the brig) even more.

Yeah, just the first two. I really liked the first two, but the CCs for some reason are priority at the moment. But, I already own 7/48ths of them, soon to be 17/48, so it's slowly going to be purchased! Also, I know how the last one ends but without any context because I'm terrible with things like that.

I'm listening to Neverland/Zagreus this week, an hour each night, followed by an episode of Frontios (and on Friday it's making of) and a making of one of the Who DVDs I have. I'm quite excited, and it appears Zagreus is okay so long as you pay attention to it, which should not be a problem. Then I'll have 2 week's worth of CCs to listen to one a night, I believe. Which will be nice.

So... The boxset with The Three Companions has an interview with Nick Courtney (it's the last who-related thing he did) as an extra. I think I'll pick it up, but for the wrong reason of the DWM specials now have cover art. Plus, they're editing The aforementioned three companions into 3x40 minute episodes from 12x10 minute episodes, with a disc devoted to Polly, Thomas Brewster, and The Brig, respectively.

I watched the last Sarah Jane. Honestly, they shouldn't air the last three recorded now. That was a really nice send off.

Weird question: Does any one of you look like the 10th or 11th Doctor?

No, but I do know a pony that does!

Re: Neverland Part One - OMGWTFBBQ. I did not see that coming. Knowing how much Moffat took bits of the web of time arc for the cracks arc, I was wholly expecting the gigantic TARDIS to be
    The Doctor's
, and was incredibly surprised when it ended up being the person it belonged to's.

Re: Frontios Part One - Okay. Turlough is better than usual.

Re: Inferno 'Making Of' (as if anyone cares :P) - Very informative, very interesting how a story where a number of things went wrong produciton-wise managed to become a fan favorite.

Hmm... I'm faced with a dilemma. I have the first series of Torchwood on DVD (as individual DVDs), but none of the others. I want to buy them, but I'm not sure if I should get the blu-ray set of them all(£37), or just the two remaining sets on bluray for around £20. Is it worth the extra £17 to have them all in HD and in a neat box? That £17 could buy me another doctor who boxset (or two if I'm careful).

Get the cheep one. If you really wanted to spend extra on the cool box you would have the second you seen it. :p

Or you could do the sane thing and not buy them at all! Huzzah!

Neverland was really great, by the way. Onto Part One of Zagreus tonight. I'm excited, because it's apparently better if you listen to it like I do as a multi-parter with Neverland. I'm also probably going to nab a few of the Divergents Arc ones (Scherzo, History of Fear, Twilight Kingdom) just so I can say I'm further into the arc then Friar, although I will be skipping all the non-important arc wise and mediocre to terrible releases. I'm debating whether to get the final Divergent episode or the one right before it, as it's okay to good according to most people, but there's a part of me that's decided it hates the Divergent arc already and wants to leave instantly.

Yeah, I think I'll just pick up series 2/3 on blu-ray. And then spend the money I save on getting the first series of the Sarah-Jane adventures.

Man I went to a Waterstones today and saw some Doctor Who audiobooks.

    Man they were expensive.
They averaged at around £15 each, and one set was £50!

    I almost fainted.

Then again, Waterstones is a gigantic ripoff merchant, and its actually much cheaper than that....

If you mean the Big Finish stuff, yes, they are expensive. £13 a pop for stuff from the last 5 years. However, they are of the highest quality and do occasionally go on sale (earlier this month the first 50 of their main range of Doctor Who was on sale for five quid each).
If you mean the missing episodes collections, they're actually not very expensive. Downloads are available on audiogo with the average audiobook being around £6, which is perfectly reasonable.

Hey guys! I just made it to the first regeneration episode... now I'm preparing to start the 2nd doctors episodes, i'd like to know though, how is the 2nd doctor, I loved the first doctor and even though I know that regeneration is a regular part of the show I'm seriously going to miss him ='( I've read about how almost every 2nd doctor episode is incomplete, or missing... will I have any trouble watching through all the 2nd doctor episodes?? I never had any trouble with 1st doctors missing episodes, since I LOVE radio dramas.

Side question, I read that "The daleks master plan" was the final appearance of the meddling monk, does anyone else think this kind of sucks? I liked the character, and don't know why the heck they wouldn't continue using him as a comical villian =)

Well, as for Troughton, he's wonderful, but the problem is he's the kind of Doctor greatly helped by seeing him in motion. He's much more frantic then his audio implies. However, his last season is full of classics and they are mostly complete, including the 10-part epic The War Games. Although be sure to dismiss half the stuff he says about Regeneration in Power of the Daleks, as it's all a bunch of lies and gets retconned (I believe he says he's actually just the First Doctor but aged backwards or something like that, complete poppycock).

As for the Monk, yes, he's gone. Another character gone forever that you may be surprised to discover is The Celestial Toymaker, although his return was planned numerous times but never surfaced other then in the audios recently. However, there are certainly some comedic villains, and there are definitely more nemesises of the Doctor coming, with one particularly memorable one coming during the Third Doctor era and staying with the show to the point he's met every Doctor but one on television (not counting Eleven, of course).

On another note; I actually quite liked the first part of Zagreus. Don't understand why it's quite so confusing to some people. I do like how the interim companion for the Doctor is a giant Cat, it reminds me a tad of Red Dwarf.

I'm going to watch the Poirot with Paul McGann within a few days, I have moderately high hopes.

I just watched power of the daleks... I gotta ask, is the recorder playing a regular thing with him? because I simply DESPISE the recorder... otherwise it was interesting, I was wondering though, is this a point where the doctor is active as you said, or is he a little more subdued right now because of the regeneration, because other then the recorder playing he didn't seem active at all, or even sound like he could be active xDD

I can't wait till I get to a point where there are no more lost episodes... my OCD keeps me from being able to watch out of order xD

The recorder is one of the traits of the second doctor that sticks around, but the other thing about him that you might find annoying early on is they tried to give him a catchphrase which was later aborted, 'I would like a hat like that!', which isn't dissimilar to the habits of the current doctor, somewhat interestingly.

Hmm... it seems the audible offer has expired. Or it's glitched. It says I am not eligible as it's only open for those who are new and have never had a free trial of it before (which I haven't). I've dropped a line to support about it.

Oh yeah, I started rewatching torchwood. I've got the extremely cringeworthy sex alien episode next. I keep telling myself it gets better after episode 3, but it doesn't help...

Well, I don't think anyone at my house has done it. All my family members are either computer incompetent, or have no intrest in audiobooks. If they don't sort it out, I may as well obtain two of the audiobooks from... other sources. Afterall, I've now linked my amazon account to audible, and I know what they are all about (which is obviously the purpose of said promotion. Well, that and to hope you forget to unsubscribe!). Considering I was just going to unsubscribe straight afterwards, it'll have the same effect overall. In fact, less server strain on them! Bonus! :p

*edit* Some more digging turns up that there's a different off around where you get one free audiobook and 14 days free trial. I might give that a go instead.

Yeah, once you've signed up for a trial it won't take as it knows your address and all that for future stuff. So no luck on that. I think audible secretly hates the English. Tell yer friends.
