    In series 5 The Silence
took control of the TARDIS and made it explode destroying the universe!
    In series 6 they
Kidnapped Melody Pond and turned her into a weapon against her will to kill the Doctor!
    All just to stop
anyone finding out The Doctor's name! What the hell could it be to be worth all that destruction to stop it from happening!

Oh, you want to know the Doctor's name?

    Lemony Snicket.

My first thoughts on the episode's beginning: If you thought Moffat's previous episodes were confusing...

Here's a trailer for the new adventure game.

    Also,
"The fall of the eleventh is blatantly Matt Smith's finale.

    What?? Nooooo...
I've really come to love Matt Smith in this role.
    :(

I must've completely missed that, when was it mentioned?

There was a brief charity special where the tenth Doctor met the fifth Doctor

Sir Derek Jacobi is *not* just "some old dude"!!

He looked like a bad ass. I knew he was a somebody. But he's old and his farts smell! TEHEE!

    It's not
    his name
; it's who he is. As Seventh Doctor said, "I'm far more than just another time lord.". In my opinion, he is actually Paul McGann. A MAN CAN DREAM

    Also; what happened to the Doctor dancing at weddings? Answer;
    Dancing the Robot.

I just find it utterly hilarious that this means that
Amy and Rory are the Doctor's parents

I know that, but that doesn't change the fact that the Doctor can now go through Time and Space calling them
    Mum and Dad

Actually, now that I think about it,
didn't the Doctor and River get married in a timeline that no longer exists? Wouldn't that mean that they're not actually married now?
    Oh, stupid wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey stuff!

I think they are. The Doctor remembers, and River will once she has that day on the beach of Lake Silencio, I think...and Amy remembers because that's what she does. Rory probably remembers too because he's Rory and completely badass. And really, memory is the key.

The Doctor (who was actually a robot) got married (in a timeline that no longer exists).
I think Moffat just wanted us to think it counts but doesn't at the same time.

Also, d'aww, they made the Brigadier the second character on the characters page on the website.

Bad news, everyone. Sara Kingdom had a stroke. :(

Also, Netflix added Upstairs Downstairs Classic Series One (Featuring the lovely talented Ms Marsh from above) and The Last Detective (the Fifth Doctor's solo adventures-at-law before joining up with Martha) yesterday.

Also, Matt Smith's face is the best.

Double also; more Inspector Spacetime will be on this week's episode of Community. Yay!

That's a pretty good summation. She was also bad lady in Battlefield, which was nice. Nonetheless, she has already recorded another CC (which is out in January) in case anything takes a turn for the worse. But hopefully there are many more!

She has a CC? But she only starred in one arc, and was
    killed off during it
wasn't she? Where does the CC fit in?

In other news, Sarah Jane is back.

Well, there's a trilogy of CCs with an Older Sara (which gets explained) relating adventures to someone who is told to kill her for an unknown reason (which I hope we find out). The adventures took place in between The Feast of Steven and Volcano, where it's implied they've had adventures running from the Daleks. Link to first one (this is the only one of said batch I own, and it's my second favorite CC besides Peri/the best serious one I've heard). The next one will be standalone and be two discs, one disc read by Steven and one by Sara and features West Germany yay.

Basically, the CCs have turned The Dalek's Master Plan to form a huge arc, moreso because there's also a Steven trilogy set immediately afterwards.

Also she was in the Lost Stories Second Doctor Boxset in the Dalek pilot that was set beforehand/arguably out of canon.

Teefury has an Eleventh Doctor costume shirt similar to Forbidden Planet's style today. It's amazing and I want 20.

Maybe the cracks in the skin of the universe from last series wasnt caused by the Silents/Silence. The only thing suggesting they where was the voice saying Silence will fall. It might be somthing to do with the
question that must never be answered and the fall of the Eleventh
  • edited October 2011
The cracks in time were caused by the TARDIS exploding, which the Doctor somewhat averted by rebooting the universe. I believe that was somehow caused by the Silence, though we've not really been told how.

I got that it was the TARDIS exploding that made the cracks but River said something was controlling the TARDIS making it go to that date and explode. I don't know if that thing that took control of the TARDIS is the Silents/Silence/Kovarian or something completely different. Mainly cos The Silence dont seem to have any tecnology close to doing that. Look at all they went though just to get a Space Suit.
  • edited October 2011
Someone built that faux-TARDIS in The Lodger. Guess where it re-appeared? In The Impossible Astronaut / Day of the Moon, where it was inhabited, and presumably built, by the Silence.

So the Silence to have technology to make the TARDIS explode, since they kind-of had one and, presumably, knew how to make it work. Otherwise, explain how else they could
jump all over time and take future River back to 1960s so she could kill the Doctor in the spacesuit?

Ohh yeah :p guess it was them. Although it seems a complete 180 from what they been shown trying to do.
Hell I thought they where trying to protect the universe from the answer by killing the doctor

    They are. Think it through.

Everything they've done has been to make sure that the question is never asked and therefore answered. First they tried to cause the TARDIS to explode, which backfired with the cracks in time. So when the Doctor rebooted the universe, they went with plan B - kidnap River Song and make her kill the Doctor at Lake Silencio. Which worked. Problem solved!

But it's not. And we'll presumably see how that unfolds next year.

What if Madamme Kovarian is the 12th Doctor?! And the fake tardis is the real tardis. And the Tardis is abandoned in the lodger because
    Amy killed Kovarian.

On second thoughts, that's completely mad.

By that logic this all powerful army/religion/memory proof force stacked against The doctor are bumbling incompetent idiots...good god I hope next series gets rid of them for good.

I'm expecting a reveal that the reason the TARDIS exploded was that River's father didn't exist whilst she was in the TARDIS, on the date she was concieved, in the same TARDIS. Timey wimey

Yeah the explosion happening with the River paradox going on was probably too much for time to take.

You know if The Silence didn't keep using stupidly overly complicated tactics to kill the dr they might succeed. Plan A blow up the TARDIS...crap that went a bit over board. Plan B
kidnap the baby Time Lord and get her to kill him!! Oh shit she fell in love with The Doctor.
Well thoes two plans failed so logical plan C is an astronaut in a lake to shoot him.
And just to make sure nothing can stop this fixed point lets reuse River after it went so well last time and force her to kill the only man she has ever loved!

WHO THE HELL COMES UP WITH THESE PLANS!!

"The Glorius Dead" (one of the 8th Doctor comic serials) has the most random cliffhangers ever.
One minute he's on some alien world under attack. And then he wakes up naked next to grace holloway in bed. And later there's a strip where he's charlie brown.

We never did see the naked River scene what ep would that have been from?

Apparently it comes from a deleted scene, River is just going to get a frock from her dimensionally-transcendental wardrobe when the prison governor comes to yell at her for escaping all the time
  • edited October 2011
Wait for the boxset. Then you can have as much naked River as you want.

Though most rivers are already naked, being out in the open and all. Oh, do you see what I did there!

Deleted scenes don't make it on the boxset because the range people think it's unprofessional. Also, Moffat said on his twitter it was completely wrong and he doesn't know what he was thinking in writing it.
