So I FINALLY finished my watch-through of the original series, without succumbing to temptation and starting the new series... and I gotta say I LOVED the original series, doctors 1-7 will always have a fond place in my heart, as well as MOST of the companions (I'm looking at you Adric, smart-ass little brat)
That said, I started the new series, and while I'm enjoying it (Just finished "Dalek") I gotta say, in comparison, it almost feels like a parody of the original series... it's so fast, and there are a million things that have happened that would NEVER have happened in the original series... (I mean seriously, FART JOKES, targeting the LCD now are we??)
I honestly am enjoying it, and I'm sure I'll end up falling in love with the new doctors just as much as the old ones, but something just feels off about the entire thing...
You're getting really close to the best damn episodes of the first series. The Empty Child and The Doctor Dances really are quite excellent and a better gauge of how much of the rest of the RTD run goes.
Also, yeah... Season 4 is my favorite series as well. Some of the best episodes... looking at you, Midnight.
Donna is a weird character. People either love her or hate her, it seems. I loved her because she was the one companion who didn't have a thing for the Doctor and made certain he knew that she didn't think he was anything special. I also liked her because she spoke her mind and was surprisingly smart, given her initial appearance.
I wish there was a way to have Sylvester McCoy regenorate into Paul but a better death then just being shot by gangsters as he left the TARDIS. 7 was way to cool for that death.

Good thing that wasn't how he died; Grace accidentally fatally wounded him during exploratory surgery.
This later led to, of course, the Eighth Doctor being born, and the first face that face saw (Will Sasso), who he instantly fell in love with as has been retconned.
The implication is that history until only a bit before the present day would be off limits as he'd be mistaken for a second-class citizen.
Oh well The Doctor would just walk around like she/he owns the place and you know The Doctor facing prejudice would be interesting to see. Besides how many of the Doctor's female companions faced discrimination in stories set in the past.
Because that's what "Doctor Who" needs, more expensive and flashier episodes.
I don't think that Rome nor Egypt really counts as "flashy". I mean, they did both Rome and Egypt back in the First Doctor days with cardboard sets. Really, they'd probably end up being the cheapest episodes to do unless they decided to fly to those respective places.
Hey fellow Whovians! Since you are clearly the most logical people to ask first I'll stick it up here... if I was to try and create a special wiki for a fictional Doctor Who Telltale Game (basically what if they had the licence and did a series of episodic content with game mechanics similar to Walking Dead or Back to the Future), would that be something you be interested in seeing, maybe even helping out with a bit?
I would only be doing this in the strictest statement that such a game (sadly) doesn't exist and it is in good nature for all those awesome Telltale developers (who at one point did say they love to do things with Doctor Who). If people are interested I may create a new thread with a set of FAQ on what I have in mind (eg. which Doctor, what aliens, what locations, how do companions and tech work etc).
I'm afraid I don't quite understand what it is you are trying to do. Is it like a wiki-version of a fan-fiction?
If so, you need a page for easter eggs/references. Like "The badge in the draw the doctor was rummaging through was once worn by former companion Ace". I'd love to see the odd photo too (that would be fairly easy to knock up for that one, I reckon. Just pull a random tool drawer and insert a few thing-a-majigs.)

Also, in other news, John Barrowman got married.
It'll be done with the careful polish of an actual wiki but it is technically fan fiction, mainly out of love for Who and the idea that Telltale Games would be the best outfitters for a show like Who. Alas I can't draw or photo very well, but anyone who wanted to maybe draw some ce shaded-qese characters for the Wiki would be much beloved!
I had stuck up a series of stuff I had in mind already but my computer elected to erase it when I tried to preview, so I'll do a quick sum up of what I have in mind:
- Play as the Doctor, either as Ten or Eleven, I haven't decided which yet. Both are during their loner (but not quite lonely) phases in their lives.
- Seasonal Episodic Content like WD. Six Episodes in the Season with a 400 Days eqse bonus episode to act like a 'Christmas Special' in the show.
- Original Companions. You will encounter three possible companions in the first episode, one of which will join you in the TARDIS. Each Companion has different abilities, strengths, flaws and personalities, and change the way some situations play out, similar to Carley and Doug in WD.
- Whilst no actual companions like Amy, Rose or Donna will appear, the Doctor may run into a couple of old friends or even surprises in the game!
- In certain episodes (three of six), players will actually be able to select from one of two locations across time and space for the Doctor and his companion to visit, each with a different adventure happening with monsters, allies and story. The effects of each adventure you have carry on into play. Mid way in the season players will have one of these adventures where players can visit one of two locations where two possible second companions appear in each. This means there are twelve different companion combos to travel with the Doctor.
- The first episode is set in the (relative) present day and see the Doctor face one of his deadliest enemies, the Sontarans! Classic monsters and enemies from across the show's history will appear, as well as original enemies exclusive to the game.
So that's what I have so far! Let me know what you think if you can!

That's what RTD did best! Wait until you get to 10, the Love Sick Emotional Puppy Doctor who's always Sorry, so Sorry.

I found Donna a bit annoying and didn't like the 3 parter...
My favourite series was probably 3 as I did really like Martha as a companion and they were all good episodes apart from '42'...

Clear as mud.

How d'you figure that? I mean, it can hardly be a general rule... even the fifth Doctor thought Adric was a git.
Well Chris Chibnall said it so it has to be true!
Blimey, what must it be like at the Chibnall household? I suppose you always hurt the one you love....

(Well, that *was* the first face his face saw!)

How? They still happened it wouldn't reboot the series She (or black he) would be the 12th Doctor not the new 1st Doctor.
I mean practically any date before the 1900s...

I think you'll find this is the 6th doctor's best moment.
