I won't be able to finish co-op until one of my steam friends come back from a holiday.
  • edited May 2011

If we can work out the time zone issue between Colorado and Turkey, I'll do co-op with you. My co-op partner isn't likely to be firing up the game for a while.

if i buy portal on steam can i use it on my play station? OR is it the other way around?
  • edited May 2011
You have to buy the PS3 version if you want both. And even then, I don't think you can unlock the Steam version until the PSN goes back up, though I could be wrong. But the Steam version and the PC retail version don't come with a PS3 version.

    thanks for quick answer

I have a pretty unusual sleeping routine anyway. I think we can sorta work it out. What's the time there? It's like... uh... 4 am here.

You're correct, unfortunately. Steam is completely inaccessible until it's back up. No Co-Op for me yet. :(

Fortunately I managed to activate my PC version before PSN went down. So I can still play online on the PC version. Don't really want to do that though, as I want the trophys on my ps3, only missing 3. With a bit of luck it should be up tomorrow, but then again considering how little information we have been given, I question even that.

You know, there is one joke I seemed to have missed in chapter 9 that actually is a pretty decent one.
GLaDOS:Oh no, I think this is the part where he kills us!
Wheatly:Surprise! This is the part where I kill you!
CHAPTER 9: The part where he kills you!
ACHIEVEMENT/TROPHY UNLOCKED: The part where he kills you.
I got a kick out of it anyway.

I'm posting this at 8:55 pm. It sounds like you're 9 hours ahead of me. You can PM me or try to catch me on Skype and we'll work out the details.

The subtext of the Chapter also says "This is that part" underneath.

And Yahtzee has finally reviewed this game.
Any yahtzee fan would be waiting to see if he considered Portal 2 as good as Portal 1 which the answer is
no, but he still says its a really good game
  • edited May 2011
    That's what I figured he'd say.

I hate Yahtzee. I get his shtick, still hate it.

Just finished this, will have to wait until summer vacations to start co-op though (which is next week, so not much of a wait). It was awesome, got really stuck in one or two chambers though x__X Will probably go back for achievements during vacations too.

One of my favorite parts had to be what Gman posted of chapter 9 XD Speaking of favorite parts, I would've loved if the plot twist during the middle of the game wouldn't have been accidentally spoiled for me in Tumblr >__>

    Also *insert obligatory space reference*

I love Yahtzee and his reviews. They're useful for keeping me grounded in my views on games I love by watching a completely unbiased review of all the honest criticisms. And also for the sheer fun of watching the games I hate get ripped to shreds lol.

Listening to "Still Alive" and "Want You Gone" on a loop. Help me.

Edit: I just saw a Youtube comment saying that Half-Life 2: Episode Three should feature the Aperture Science Incendiary Encouragement Lemon as a weapon. YES.

About to try to go through again and hopefully manage to sweep all the single-player achievements I missed on the first go. There's 13 of them, so hopefully I won't miss any.

Finished the game twice now, and to begin with I really didn't like Glados, how she just when on and on about killing her. I mean, she was going to kill Chell first.
But I loved how she evolved through out the game, and all the background story behind her.

Many people I talk to hate Wheatley, I absolutely love him.

My favorite part is the old Aperture facility and listening to all the pre-recorded messages by Cave Johnson, I really like him he is really funny. :)

Only need to play the co-op now, and I already have a partner as he wants the achievement you can only get when you play co-op with one who haven't done it before.

I love Wheatley as well. I dont understand the people that say they hate him and that he is annoying.

Yes the new Zero Punctuation review is great and I completely agree with it in every point.

Anybody else get the Final Transmission achievement? Anybody else do the "dinosaur" SSTV images in the Portal ARG last year? Anybody else run the Final Transmission signal through an SSTV program?
Just to clarify, as I've seen some people who thought that was a cube with the moon in the background, it's a Companion Cube on the moon, with the Earth in the background.

By the way, I looked through so many audio files for the .wav of the radio transmission, but I was never able to find it. I had to leave Audacity recording while I brought the radio into the room, quit the game, and play my recording into the SSTV program.

Edit: Anybody take a close look at those "Bring Your Daughter to Work Day" projects?
Apparently it really was the perfect time to have Chell tested. For the rest of her life.

There are many other things like that, like theories about Chell's parents as well.

Yup if you go back a few pages we had a big discussion about Chell being Glados' daughter.

Edit: Nevermind at 15 pages this thread is approaching unwieldy.

I just got a lab coat to make an Aperture Science lab tech costume for Otakon.

I'm also working on making a talking PoTaTOS to carry.

In the meantime, check out this talking interactive turret. It's a baby!

Yeah...I actively avoided paying too much attention to this thread before I beat the game, and I haven't had a chance to go back and have a look at what you guys discussed before I got it. Because I've been busy playing it again. Yep.

So do I! As one of the commenters so graciously explained:

"That is the most adorkable killbot I have every seen"

No truer words ever said. I would totally want to wake up to that as an alarm clock. "Hello? There you are. (Knock it off the nightstand) Halp!"

If you pull this off, you have to post tons of pictures and tell us how you did it, because that sounds amazing.

Was probably the best choice, even with all the attempts to cover up spoilers :)
