So basically 3 zombie games for the Community choice...
I guess I'll vote for the only good one...

Also the one that everybody owns.

Not a good pole at all honestly. Walking Dead would've made a bit more sense than Infestation/War Z/spiritual sequal to Big Rigs.

Is it worth getting it on Steam if I have it on console?
I have heard there are some pretty cool mods etc..

Left 4 Dead? I'd say so at that price. There are custom maps, but I never played them so I don't know how good they are, but all the DLC maps from Xbox are free on the steam version if you don't have them.
  • edited July 2013
Yeah I'll probably get Portal 2 and L4D2 even though I have them on Xbox...
  • edited July 2013
Well Torchlight II is up for 75% off for Community Choice. I voted Gunpoint. You know, the game that hasn't already been on sale 50 times. Oh well.

FYI on the new pole. Infestation:Survivor Stories is literally just the War Z rebranded so people don't realize it(also they lost the rights to War Z because World War Z), so don't vote for it.

In my defense, I voted for that because I completely forgot about the rebrand, because Dead Island Riptide probably sucks, and because I already had Left 4 Dead 2. Doesn't matter, I guess. Left 4 Dead 2 will probably sweep the whole thing, as usual.

    WHAT?!?!?!?!?!

    They DIDN'T pick Gunpoint?!

WHAT A BUNCH OF IDIOTS I HATE THEM.

Well on the plus side, it will probably be a flash/daily here soon.
  • edited July 2013
Disappointed that Gunpoint wasn't picked as well. Already own it, but it could probably use some more sales.

Won't bother listing the flash deals since there's so little time left on them and they were pretty uninteresting anyway.
  • edited July 2013
As predicted, Left 4 Dead 2 (Liverpool 3) won.

New choices: Fez, Monaco, Natural Selection II.

Latest flash deals: Mass Effect 2, PES 2013, The Testament of Sherlock Holmes, Trine 2 Complete.

Getting bored with your US vacation?

I think Monaco is the obvious choice, since it looks like a lot of fun and FEZ already was a daily deal. 50% is pretty sweet for such a new game.
  • edited July 2013
Well, I'm back now. So technically that'd be a yes.
  • edited July 2013
Good to have you back on the right side of the pond. Hope you had a nice vacation.

    I totally forgot about these:

    GamersGate's Deals of the Day:

    * 75% off Jagged Alliance - Crossfire: 7,49€ / $7.49
    * 0% off Saints Row: The Third: 4,98€ / $4.98
    * 50% off Resident Evil 6: 14,98€ / $19.98

I didn't post any yesterday either, but the only Steam in there was an expansion in a very bland looking package. Not sure why there's a 0% off deal among today's deals.

I need guidance, since I want to break the big rule of the Steam sale. I want to buy Rogue Legacy now because it's so new, what are the odds it'll get a larger sale? Should I?
  • edited July 2013
I think Rogue Legacy might get a community choice...
Gunpoint and Monaco are fairly new and they've been options...
    I'd wait...
    Well I'm waiting...
  • edited July 2013
But Rogue Legacy is two weeks old. Gunpoint is at least a month and Monaco is pushing 3 months. I think we're lucky it got the 20% off that it did.
  • edited July 2013
It MIGHT go down cheaper, but I doubt it.

Leave it until the last day of the Summer sale (the 22nd) and if it doesn't get a further reduction, buy it then.
  • edited July 2013
Civ V Brave new world got 33% off a couples of days in...

Another question, should I start selling off my double trading cards? Some of them are worth a bit of money, and I want to get all the Summer Sale cards while they're cheap.
  • edited July 2013
I don't really get Steam Trading Cards...
I'm tempted to just sell all of them now...
But If I keep them people might want them when they no longer produced...
I don't care at all about 'badges' or whatever...
  • edited July 2013
They will always be produced. I sell mine and bough quite a bit in this sale from that.
Everything besides the BL2 Season pass I bought in the sale was 1005 funded by selling trading cards. Also: I payed a bit of the season pass with the money from them.
  • edited July 2013
I mean these special Summer getaway card things...
There will probably be someone who'll buy them once the Steam Sale ends and they stop appearing...
  • edited July 2013
Well, it worked for me! I got a cool 94 cents from selling my doubles. That's worth at least FOUR of the summer cards.

Yes they will and right now they are so cheap. Still: I have no interest in this badge at all.

Well now is as good of a time as ever to get Castle Crashers for PC.
  • edited July 2013
Terraria is actually the only one I'm interested in that I don't already own on console...
At £1.50 I should at least give it a go...

I miss the chaos of last years flash sales. This set 8hrs thing is boring.

I don't. Especially since they changed twice while I was in bed and then didn't change half of the day when I was awake.
Every 8 hours is fair for everybody.

It's odd that there hasn't been a Kingdoms of Amalur sale yet, especially considering Rhode Island was supposed to have come to an agreement with Amazon to start selling Steam codes of the game there.
  • edited July 2013
I don't know what's going on with that game. Hell, I don't think anyone does.

Also, obligatory mention to buy KotOR2 if you don't already have it. AMAZING game.

EDIT: IndieGala's got a few good deals ATM, including (gasp) Jack Keane 2.

Just a warning to anyone who gets KotOR2 the steam version is sold fairly broken and you are likely going to have to fiddle around with the .ini file to make it work
And the game is a bit bland without the restored content mod...

works flawlessly for me on Win7.

Says who? Steam says I've played for 60 hours and it has been working just fine.
And the game is a bit bland without the restored content mod...
Well that's just plain wrong. TSLRCM definitely is an essential install, but the core game can't be called "bland"!

Just a warning as it didn't work for me until I changed the ini files to turn of full screen and turn on windowed mode..

Going through IndieGala to see what Steam deals they've got. Here's the best:

    Deponia - $3.99
Deponia: Chaos on Deponia - $3.49
The Book of Unwritten Tales: The Critter Chronicles - $6.69
    The Whispered World - $3.99
    Tropico 3: Gold - $4.09
    Wasteland Angel - 99c

...and of course, the previously mentioned Jack Keane 2, which is $25.49, which once converted is the cheapest I think it's been since its release last month.
