Don't starve is now 40% off...
A bit more tempting but if it went down another 20%...
  • edited July 2013
Glad I waited, and didn't buy Scribblenauts for $7.50

I think I might just keep waiting
  • edited July 2013
The two main things I'm aiming for is Don't Starve and Rouge Legacy but not sure if 20% and 20% are enough...
    Might wait...
    Still deal of the century...
    Bad Ratz is 90% off...
Everyone should get this game :D

Scribblenauts is a buy for sure, not sure about the Skyrim DLC though, was thinking it'd be cheaper.
  • edited July 2013
Also: Greenman reacted and reduced Bioshock Infinoite to the same price. And you can add that nifty 20% off voucher on top of that!

So, I'm assuming we'll be doing Secret Santa again this year?

I'm not doing it in the Summer anymore at least (and to be completely honest may stop hosting it altogether this year, though someone else could of course host it)

That said if anyone wants to buy me anything I've got my eye on Civ V

I can't play a game without an end.

Should I buy the Skyrim DLC now or should I wait?

Skyrim is already a flash sale. Experience says it's not going to get cheaper.
But it's the first day. Just to be sure wait until it is back as a daily or community choice. It will be.

The "event" this year is a set of Summer Sale cards.

There are 10 cards in the set, each for a different game. Interestingly, it seems that each card also stands for a different day of the sale(Bioshock Infinite is the first card of the set, and on the first day it's on sale).

You get random Summer Sale card drops by:

    -Crafting a badge
    -Spending $10 on Steam
-Voting 3 times in the Community Choice

You can also get a specific game's card by buying it on its day, apparently, as all Bioshock Infinite purchases on Steam seem to be granting three random cards and the Infinite card.

The badge, when crafted, grants Summer Sale-themed emotes, profile backgrounds, and(of course) another Summer Sale card. Nothing particularly interesting TBH.

Yeah, that is what I'm going to do too. Plus I might get the Skyrim card if I wait for when it is a daily and buy the DLC then if what Dashing says is true.

I think that card is only for buying the game. not the DLC.

Yeah that's what I was figuring, but you never know(well we do know because the season pass of Bioshock isn't giving them out, but... yolo).

Aren't you sure you didn't get these random cards for every $10 you spent on Steam?

By the way, the amount spent during the deal is over every purchase, so you can purchase some now and purchase some later, it's still for every $10 on all purchases you made during the sale. I for example spent $15 on the complete Sonic pack and later purchased a DLC and Scribblenauts Unlimited (total of around $7.50), and I got a total of two cards from it.

You do. You get cards for every $10 AND if you buy the featured game you get its card.
  • edited July 2013
Wait, how the hell did you already get the badge?
  • edited July 2013
Had 14 Mystery Cards before the event started.
  • edited July 2013
Skyrim just sneaked in steam trading cards FYI
It is one new way to get a badge(and thus a summer card) or just to sell and get a few cents in your steam wallet(which could be useful for some games that are close to a dollar from the sale)
  • edited July 2013
Ugh. I can't even earn cards right now because I can't actually play anything on this laptop. I can't even run Meat Boy on this thing.

You don't have to. You can just keep the launcher running in the background for Skyrim.

    Edit since no one cared:

    latest flash deals are....

    Bastion: 85% off
Dark Souls: Prepare Your Wallet: 75% off
    Euro Truck Simulator: 75% off
    Cities XL Platin: 75% off

Also BorderCrack 2 won the community vote and is 66% off. This includes all DLC and the Season Pass which is the cheapest I've ever seen it.

Also the new CivV DLC is 33% off. The preorder ended yesterday and was only 10%. Some Sale-noobs are rerally pissed right now.

I'm sorry, but no, it is NOT reasonable to assume something released the SAME WEEK as the sale is going to go on sale. Hell, MOST publishers have a three-month rule when it comes to these things.

These two posts would've been so much better in reverse order.

Anyone actually played God Mode? I'm moderately curious, but not enough to buy it on blind faith.

    It's mediocre.
  • edited July 2013
    ...and skipped. Thanks.
  • edited July 2013
Yeah. I was kind of disappointed. There's nothing offensively bad or anything, it's just....painfully average for its sort of thing. Remember when Diablo was the biggest thing and the market was flooded with Diablo clones, most of which were just "okay"? The experience is kind of like that.
  • edited July 2013
Oh, it's one of THOSE games. Glad I skipped it!
  • edited July 2013
It's a different type of game, third person multiplayer arena type deal, but its the same kind of generic that you got out of second string Diablo clones.

The whole series is on sale. And I know Rather Dashing wants those games. Hope he wakes up before they are back to the old price.
