nope. I already have too many RPGs that I haven't played yet.

Just off the top of my head, there's Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim, Dragon Age Origins, KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Final Fantasy 6 (3 on SNES).

That doesn't include other RPGs that I've already been planning to get, like Tales of Symphonia 2 and Tales of Xillia.
Okay, okay. I'm buying Ys 1&2+ now.

I changed my mind after watching reviews.

Note that Ys I and II Chronicles+ are very much "Enhanced Ports" of the original games for the PC-88. They have new content and the graphics have been bumped up from 8-bit to 32-bit, but the design philosophy is incredibly old school. If you've played older Final Fantasy games(especially NES-era ones) you have a rough idea of how much guidance you'll get(by default, next to none).

You make it sound like that's a bad thing.

It's not bad, it just means that you have to go in with the mindset that you're going to have to pay close attention, talk to people for hints, and realize that you'll be expected to find certain specific treasure chests without any real prompt that you may have missed them.

    Sounds great to me.

No-one? Alright, today's Daily Deal is 50% off...

    capsule_467x181.jpg

That's the three Starter Packs. I still say they're overpriced, but whatever.
  • edited July 2013
We were just filling in for you. This is your job, right? :p

Yeah, I don't get how stuff like four playable characters can be worth anywhere near 40 Euros, and that's at 50% off.

Today's Daily Deal is... actually, no. Wait. Is yesterday's deal still active?

...it IS. So it's not technically a daily deal when the deal runs for two days, right? Gah. Is this a new thing Steam have started doing, because I'm curious to know how long it's been 48 hours for each deal instead of 24.

    Anyway. Today's 2-Day Deal is 75% off...

    header_586x192.jpg

    That includes the DLC.

    Weekend Deals:

    spotlight_image_english.png

There's also the Command & Conquer series, but since there doesn't appear to be a 'collection', I'll list them.

    C&C 3: Tiberium Wars
    C&C 3: Kane's Wrath
    C&C 4: Tiberian Twilight
    C&C: Red Alert 3
    C&C: Red Alert 3: Uprising

    They're all 70% off.

Oh, and some stupid sounding game called Shadowrun Returns is live now. Phhpt.

It's actually top seller. I didn't think it was going to be THAT popular.

    Oh and...

More popular than a month-old expansion and two pre-orders, yes.

It's still a lot since the Kickstarter keys & pre-orders don't count towards it.
  • edited July 2013
Sales stats I've seen for Steam show that most people don't do pre-orders, there's a massive boost in sales on release day once the thing is actually out. The Kickstarter WAS a few months more than a year ago, as well, and my guess is a lot of people were either unaware or didn't want to pay that month for a game they would get in a year.

I dunno, it's the highest profile new release. What else do we have from the past couple days? Store-brand Zelda, a NASCAR game, a couple indies that are barely on my somewhat wider-than-average radar? And as for sales, today's sales are repeats of stuff from the Summer sale, and include a very niche import RPG series and some very moderately successful indies.

It seems to me like Shadowrun is in a good place to take the top spot.

Plus its actually really fucking awesome! :D
  • edited July 2013
So far, I'd agree. LOTS of reading.

I am so excited to get home and play a little of it before going back to Half-Life. I really need to finish Half-Life.

Miss out on Borderlands 2 or X-COM during the Summer Sale?

    What's that? You said no?

    Oh. Don't look here then.
  • edited July 2013
I bought Tomb Raider instead of Borderlands 2. I'll probably get it someday soon, but the truth is the main reason I consider getting it is because Claptrap is in Poker Night 2.

I feel like it's been on sale almost continuously lately.

So, is the 48 hour thing a new policy, or did someone forget to set the daily deals back to 24 hours?
  • edited July 2013
I think it's been going all week. I noticed it a few days ago (with the Marvel one). As to whether it's permanent or not... I have absolutely no idea. Wouldn't be the worst idea.
  • edited July 2013
All the summer sale dailies lasted for 48 hours, and this has been going on since the first regular daily deal since. I'd say it's a new policy and I think it's great.

The forum is quite an amusing read because of the angry Germans(okay, most are logical, but there's a couple huffing).

Well it's yet another game not available. If I preordered it no problem but it was removed shortly after release because. ... ... I actually have no clue why.

I'm happy that Mortal Kombat 9 has an M-rated version of the Joker's Fatality from MK vs DCU.

It might be four months late, but your Bioshock Infinite season pass is about to get some actual content! And guess what, it sucks! Today marks the release of the first DLC pack which is... combat arenas! But don't worry, there are two storyline DLC planned. A thrilling noire detective story spanning two episodes that's set in... uhh... Rapture.

That's what happens if your DLc is made after the game is realeased and not just cut out of the game for more profit.

Wow... They've created a great new world to explore and expand upon-- and they decide to go back to Rapture... Again.

    Lame.

Guacamelee is Steam-bound next week. 15 bucks gets you the base game, the costume DLC and the challenge room DLC. However during the launch week period, the game will be 10% off and will come with a free copy of Tales of Space: Mutant Blobs Attack.
