    I don't think that's true. Actually great puzzles are extremely rare.

    I agree as well. Anyways, puzzle creation and script-writing are two totally different disciplines in my eyes. To say one's easier than the other's a bit of a sweeping statement.

    @DAISHI
    It's hard to imagine another, do it three times, puzzle construction which would get me excited. Being part of the story and nicely presented for sure adds to the puzzles but great puzzles shine on their own and play in a different league. If you would line up all great TTG puzzles in a row then this line wouldn't be this long, sadly.

    It's like the difference between a joke which makes you smile and maybe giggle a bit and joke which makes you burst out in laughter for minutes until your belly hurts and you're trying to get serious again but without a chance.

    Two completely different categories. The latter can't be done by this many people and takes, if you aren't a natural, simply much more time.

    Sales slowed down significantly. I hope, they'll able to share some further infos soon as this seems to be what quite some people want. Personally i'm still fine with just the way it is because this way it's much more mysterious. :O) And i already know that i'll get a Linux version where the DRM screws up my OS X partition which i didn't backup before. Oh well, whilst reinstalling days of work i at least can think of all the good stuff which got sent to another address by mistake. How some cats enjoy my poster and ...

    Paypal doesn't allow the type of timeshifted, "only in the case of X" payment structure that Kickstarter needs to function. What, exactly, is wrong with Amazon Payments that makes it so you can't use it? Is it just that you have a Paypal balance but nothing in terms of credit cards or bank funds?

    Don't get me wrong, I realize why they excluded it, but it still frustrating nonetheless.
    For the past few days, I've been looking for a way to transfer funds in any way I can, but seeing as I don't have a credit card, it's not making things easier.

    And yes, I do own a debit card, but as far as I've checked, it turned out to be incompatible with the payment options of Amazon.
    (Accepted Maestro cards are UK-based only )

    In the US, most credit card companies sell "gift" and "prepaid" cards. Have you investigated that sort of option?
  • edited February 2012
    I just checked a few sites, regarding those.
    No luck on gift cards, pre paid cards might be an option, even if the combined transaction costs are a bit of hassle.

    I'll look into those further, thanks for the tip.

    Yeah, I was saying before on another forum that this could continue to raise a lot of funds IF there are periodic updates talking about how the money raised is being used, and what they can do if they raise more. With good support, they could clear 3 million. 2 million seems like a lock at th

    So buy it when the game comes out. At this point, at least the project seems fairly well funded (although admittedly more will help). is point.,

    Actually, most of a Kickstarter's funds are generally gained near the end, as people who've heard about it know it's nearing the deadline and decide to drop in the money. Even though this is NOT a normal campaign, I'd say 3 million is a lock as well, and honestly I would not be surprised to see them pass that well before the deadline.

    Not a solution if you:

    -Want the beta
    -Want access to the discussion community and to be informed of the development step-by-step
    -Want access to Backers-only updates
    -Want the documentary
    -Want to be part of this outpouring of support, for adventure games and for crowdfunded games in general
    -Want the poster

    It wants a credit card. There is no other option. I don't have one and that's the same for a lot of people outside the US. We normally don't use Credit Cards in Germany for example.
  • edited February 2012
    pre-paid money cards also work... I dont use my credit cards online.. I use a pre-paid walmart money card.. I am sure there are ones similar in pretty much every country.. and will only cost around $3 to put money on it.

    As I said to the fellow on the last page, there are gift and prepaid versions of these cards available. I can't read German so I'm not really able to help too much in this regard, but this looks like it *should* have the kind of information you need.

    That's nonsense, of course we use credit cards in germany, actually it's the most used payment method, unless you don't just buy some pretzels in a bakery. On the other side we don't throw them this often into the hats of beggars. If you don't own a credit card which has some Visa/Mastercard option then you mostly aren't an adult or having no income. And of course there is KreKrusch, a sport a little bit like Frisbee, just with some more run&hide.

    For this budget they are doing it exactly right with the english talkie and subtitles in efigs, although for the fun i would love a arabic version. A german talkie would be welcome as well but only if it's done really right because if the quality isn't convincing you just stay with the original and the money is much better spent on other aspects of the game.

    I heard that Chris Cornell will do the music as well which would be awesome. I wonder how they intend to release the game. If they add the platforms one by one or start with a few and add the others time after time or computers first then mobiles, ... if developing at least some systems in parallel i wonder if they'll add OS X to the Beta.

    Mark or Bob? DEVO indeed did awesome music especially in the early years but i wonder if it would fit to the game, wee, i guess they could make it fit somehow.

    Mark is an acclaimed composer and has a rather large soundtrack resumé.

    Mark Mothersbaugh? That guy is so insanely talented I want to eat my foot. He's scored some of my favorite films.

    Haha. Fair enough.
  • edited February 2012
    Yes but to be honest there are many great composers around and i don't mind this much if it's gonna be this one or the other one as long as the music is great and fits to the game. I'm sure Byrne, Yorke, Bowie, Young, Gabriel, Land, Bajakian Guthrie, DeNardo, Galway, and so on could provide great music as well. It has to fit to the game and Cornell did some great tunes for games Schafer worked on already.

    German Drinking:Myth and Reality

    The World Health Organization estimates the average German drinks 11.6 liters of alcohol per year. They rank 24th in the world, well behind neighbors like Russia, France, and the UK. The U.S. ranks 59th;

    53% of the alcohol consumption is beer; 27% wine; and 20% liquor;

    Yeah, not that I could confirm these numbers. My last beer was 19 years ago (I'm not kidding).
  • edited February 2012
    In 2010, the average Irish person aged 15+ drank 11.9 litres of pure alcohol, according to provisional data. That’s the equivalent of about 44 bottles of vodka, 470 pints or 124 bottles of wine

    So close Germany, yet so far. We're second in the world in beer consumption according to Wikipedia, still gotta knock the Czech's off the top spot.
  • edited February 2012

    My last beer was never. I guess I'm just not German then.
  • edited February 2012
    I'm German and my last beer was never too. At least, my lineage is German (with my grandfather).
  • edited February 2012
    I'm descended from both Irish and German immigrants and I might occasionally take a glass of wine. I guess that's what happens when you're a mutt.
