From watching the gameplay footage it seems that most of the attack was "press A now" almost seeming rehearsed. Will there be times where we will be able to swing the weapon at our free will?

While there will be a number of interesting and gruesome ways to kill of zombies in the game, it is not a Pick-Up-Weapon, Start-Zombie-Killing-Rampage kind of game. Anytime you have to kill off a zombie, its usually a much more personal and meaningful event.

    Wow.
It's the first time I hear this kind of words for a zombie game.
    And I appreciate this.

    Go on breaking rules! :D

If you think about it, that is the way it should be.... The Walking Dead is about struggling with morality, and not grabbing a flamethrower, and seeing how many zombies you can kill in the shortest amount of time.. It should always be in the back of your mind that the zombie you are killing used to be someone.. they used to go to work, feed their kids, worry about bad hair days... I love mowing down zombie mobs in other games too.. but the Walking Dead shouldn't be like that, dragging out a struggle with each zombie sort of forces you to actually THINK about what you are doing.. and how horrible it would actually be in real life.... At least that is how I think The Walking Dead should be.

Totally. The moments when we can get you to remember that any zombie used to be a person with a personality and memories and loved ones are some of the strongest in the series.

I guess what I mean is will there be times where I will be able to go scavenge in the streets, or walk around Hershel's farm and have to defend against some zombies? In a sense, is there any sort of free roaming, or is it mainly just everything the main character does is planned out?

There is definitely free roaming!! You get to walk around all over the place looking for things and people! But most of the time you want to avoid the zombies, not go running up to them... but sometimes you have to do just that.

I would elaborate on the free roaming part. It isn't like you can just leave your group and head off, but free roaming such as sam and max searching the area you are in correct?

I like the gameplay, it's easy to see that Telltale has learned from past mistakes and listen to what fans and critics gripes of Jurassic Park. There could be some improvements though it's definately a step in the right direction.

One big gripe I had from just watching little bits of it was the annoying pop-ups in the left-hand side of the screen. That say stuff like "You have fed Clementine, or Shaun took note of that. Saying what you have done like you're some kind of moron who needs some sortive of reassurance for everything you do.

It's just as worse as a moral-choice system because it's telling that you're doing something to effect some sort of non-exsistent choice system. Is there a way to turn that off in the game? If not then it's something that should be added immediately and set to "off" automatically because I feel it will just annoy people like the hint system in BTTF.

If you choose to have a minimal UI, then the dots won't gradually fade into view as you move your reticle close to them. You'll only see a dot when your reticle is directly over a selectable object or entity. So with the minimalist view you'll really need to explore a scene in order to find out what you can interact with, but you'll still know when you've found something so you don't feel like you need to mash over everything that could potentially have an interaction.

And yes, in the settings menu you can choose to have choice popups but not dots, or any combination thereof.

Yes, you can turn them off.

Edit: And choosing a minimal UI when you start your game will turn off the choice notifications as well.

Will there be any signs of Rick in this game? just womdering because I love (not "love" "love") him, and which other TV-show/Comic charactersare there in the game?

Glenn and Hershal is all that is known. Probably Hershal's daughter that Glenn is married to now as well(forgot her name).

    It's Maggie.

Ah yes. I'm really bad at memorizing these names. I know Rick, Michone, Glenn, Carl, and Sophia, that's about it. Oh and the new Jesus guy, but... his friends call him Jesus, so you have to memorize it.

This question has been asked before, you could almost say it has been frequently asked, but has still yet to be answered so I'm going to ask again: is there going to be an end of season DVD?
  • edited March 2012
Id prolly say yes i dont know for sure but with a walking dead franchise and its hype meter out the roof for all things zombie these days im sure they will because it will land them tons of money and would be smart marketing.

I would be surprised if there isn't. I don't think there has been a time, when there hasn't been an end of season dvd.

    This....
You'll be able to directly control Lee. Worry not!

    And this....

Each episode is 400 MS points on XBLA, I'm not sure about PS3

There hasn't been one for Hector : Bagde of Carnage, there are no plans for a Law & Order dvd and Jurassic Park is available in DeLuxe edition only (you cannot have a discount if you own the digital version). ;)
Until Telltale officially announces their plans for a TWD dvd, I'm going to assume there won't be one.

I'm pretty sure there isn't going to be one for Law & Order, there wasn't one for non-deluxe edition Jurassic Park copies, and there hasn't been one for the shorter series like Hector and Puzzle Agent. I don't think an end-of-season DVD of TWD is a slam-dunk guarantee. Personally, I'd just like to know one way or the other.

Edit: lol, didn't see that last response.

Episodes on PS3 are $5, and if you buy them all at once in a season pass for $25, you also get a free premium XMB theme!

Browsing through the usual depressing and some what deep bowels of youtube; I stumbled across a Youtube video which was a walkthrough of the Walking dead that hasn't come out yet.

    (here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sR0WYsGc_s&feature=related)

From what I can render, it looks pretty legit. So it raises quite a few questions:

1.) Did you privately email some folks free unlock codes for the game and you know all about this or did that guy find some sortive glitch and unlocked the game before anyone else?

2.) What does "Download Content" mean? Will this be telltale's first game with DLC?

I'm sorry if this was brought up but it seems like it should be addressed. What do you guys think of the game you saw so far?

    1) That footage was leaked, most likely by someone else with access to the Xbox 360's developer network (anyone on those networks can play unreleased 360 games, and that includes a ton of other game developers and press). It's not an official footage release and I don't think it's a final build.

    2) Episodes will be released as in-game DLC in the Walking Dead, instead of unique store purchases like our old games.

Ahh ok, thanks for clearing that up. Do you mind if I give some feedback the game from what I saw in hopes that it will help you tweak some things before the game's final release, or is this a bad time?

I think that the game is pratically finished now, given the release next month.
Usually TT are capable to include some user ideas in the last episodes.
Suggestions are always welcome, but IMHO I think there's not much time to change things and test them in time for the first episode.
But I'm not a TT employee, so I really don't know.

Oh, that didn't work particularly well for Law & Order. :(

I hope that any kind of check for online content availability in TWD must be explicitly user-activated, because L&O's auto-check had some serious issues on my PC (including failed game launches, or the "checking for online content" icon not disappearing when I wasn't online).

The internet responsible for L&O's connectivity fiascoes has been sacked. A new internet has been hired for TWD that should result in a lot fewer issues.

You got a whole new Internet? Lucky. I'm still stuck with this crappy old one. :p

I started to watch it then decided not to. I hate spoilers!! I'm a huge fan of the AMC show but have never read the comic nor am I a comic reader. Who knows...The Walking Dead might be my introduction to the comic world! Oh and I cant wait to see PC gameplay in future Playing Dead episodes.

Same. I started to watch it, then I thought to myself "I don't want to be spoiled", so I stopped watching.

What's the penalty for running up to zombies and hunting them down? That hammer we see in the trailer seems to be enough for me. I would like to clear our nearby houses and enact my own fantasy related to the zompocalypse. Is this not possible or are there barriers in place to prevent it?

FYI: In case of zompocalypse I would clear out my surrounding neighborhood. Its geographical position means I would not even have to fence in said neighborhood. Perfect survival headquarters.

What did Lilly do in the comics again exactly? Is she
That zombie child the governor keeps?

This is going off of the newest Q and A.

    She
is the woman from Woodbury who shoots Lori and Judith with a shotgun blast. She then, in rage when realizing what she did, turns to the governor, shoots him and kicks him into the zombie crowd before heading for shelter in the prison
