Why is it called "Rebellion Bullseye?"

    I'm an idiot.

    New Release: Alan Wake

$15 instead of regular $30 price for a week.

    (also includes the DLC)

    GO GET IT!!! :D
  • edited May 2012
Isn't that a Steamworks title normally (requires Steam)?
Also looking back at it I wouldn't really recommend it.

Yup, originally on Steam, now DRM-free. I might give it a try - not that many 3rd person games around these days...

It's interesting how GOG manages to finally get some more recent games (including "Assassin's Creed" even).

    From GOGs facebook:

Alan Wake's American Nightmare will be available for pre-orders tomorrow!
The game will be available 10% off for $17.99, but if you purchased Alan Wake on GOG.com, the second part is 25% off--that's $14.99 for a game you are not allowed to miss.

EDIT: Either way, it looks like Alan Wake + American Nightmare works out about the same on GOG and Steam. (For the UK at least!)
(Save on core game on GOG, but American Nightmare is a little cheaper on Steam)

So essentially its DRM-Free GOG version vs Steam version.

ooooohh... thats a toughie for some.
(Not for me. Mind already made up!)

EDIT 2: Deal is up, and its price matching Steam.
(Which makes it the best deal! :D)

    GOG Wins.

I wonder if GoG will get the later Assassin's Creed games, because the first one is the only one from the series that didn't have Ubi's proprietary DRM thingie.

Yes, yes, yes. If GOG starts picking up Ubisoft franchises only five years after their original release, there might be an itty bitty chance left that one day I'll play "Beyond Good & Evil 2" (as of now announced to be "in full production" again - for future CONSOLES though).

I'm still not sure whether I'll give the original Assassin's Creed a shot. The collecting in this game seems to be very limited, and when you collect all the irrelevant stuff, the internet tells me you get "an achievement". Ah, the ugly insubstantial cancer of consolification.

Ah well, let's wait for a Sale. After all, that's what this thread is for. :D

I'm still not sure whether I'll give the original Assassin's Creed a shot.

The original Assassin's Creed... well, technically speaking, the design of the first AC is kinda flawed. Perhaps even REALLY flawed. In that regards, the next games of the series are a lot better. But it's a different experience, and there's something missing in the sequels that was present in the first AC, and... I'm a fan of the series since the original game was released (despite its flaws), but I still miss that elusive 'something' that was present in the first game. It's hard to define what things are those exactly, but... for example, the first AC is the only game in the series that you can actually normally complete with the HUD totally off (and that's a really awesome experience, in my opinion). You can't do that in AC2/ACB/ACR because you go 'and now where the **** do I need to go?' very often if the HUD's off... and stuff like that.

Today's releases are Zeus + Poseidon, a strategy game, and a little known RPG adventure game called Quest for Glory.

    Correction: Quest for Glory I-V
    (Its a series)

The Zeus & Poseidon bundle is not two games, but Zeus and its expansion Poseidon.

(Just thought I'd clarify a few things)

Needless to say I grabbed the Quest for Glory bundle to see what everyone keeps raving about! XD
  • edited May 2012
Holy **** quest for glory on gog!!!!!!! Finally!!!!
  • edited May 2012
Also, the new QFG collection on GoG comes with the original and remake of QFG1, unlike all the other Sierra adventure collections on Steam and GoG, which include only one or the other.

A certain classic Sierra game written by Al Lowe. You know him, you love him, you've wanted to see him return in true fashion for years, it's... Torin's Passage?

"Resonance" looks interesting, but the "retro-pixel-style" really isn't attractive to me. Why do this when with the least bit of effort, it could be done far better?

Might give this a try, though!
  • edited May 2012
It's because Dave Gilbert ran a poll back when Blackwell Convergence was in development concerning the portraits (either that or Blackwell Deception), and people prefered the pixelly style.

In today's GOG update, we have the Pharaoh + Cleopatra bundle, to compliment the Zeus + Poseidon bundle from a couple weeks ago. And, to follow that up, we have... absolutely nothing. Only one release today folks.

The Blackwell Bundle, 4 adventure games for $9.99
  • edited May 2012
The Blackwell Bundle is more akin to a TTG season than a bundle of separate games, but they're still good, and I recommend them.
  • edited May 2012
Holy crap, gog has the Blackwell bundle!?

    INSTA-BUY!

EDIT: Or I'll just wait until I get the money on my Paypal account...

EDIT2: Holy crap, ALL FOUR OSTs!?

    EDIT3: I was weak...
  • edited May 2012
Yeah, that's why I have quite a lot of stuff both on GoG and Steam. First a game's released on Steam, I buy it, then it's released on GoG, I see the extras, I buy it again.

That would be because it's a brand new game by a company no-one's ever heard of.

Good thing the site's not actually called 'Good OLD Games' any more, isn't it?
