Link, just in case anyone needs it.

As for who I want to win... my placing of Syberia in the Games That SHOULD Be Forgotten thread is a minor clue.

Sooooo, I take it we should vote for Syberia then.

    Geneforge 1-5
I've been a fan of Jeff Vogel's games for about 15 years, since I played an Exile 3 demo in 1997, that was about 1/3 of the full game, compared to the couple of hours game play that other demos were providing at that time.

You get all 5 games for $9.99 (-33% off for now), compared to £16.99 (about $26?) on Steam.

They were originally $20+ for each game, but Steam/Gog have allowed them to price their more recent games much lower + still make a living.

Oh fuhh, TLJ english for 3,99$. I never played the English version... 22 hours to decide. I hate that. I want to pay for games when I want to play them immediately. Well, at least it doesn't feel like Kickstarter. :D

I guess Geneforge 5 is new enough for them to be able to charge 15 bucks. I got a little freaked out when the regular price was 15, when it had a release date of 2001.

    Yup.

The last game came out in 2009.

If anything, they should fix that date to reflect the latest game in my opinion!

(Or have a 2001-2009 date or something...)

I own only the 5th one, and I haven't played it that much, (partly lazyness, partly the activation process of the DRM'ed version), but I thought I'd get the set.

Playing them in order might make me invest more time into them.
(Buuuuuttt.. thats a long shot, since I only mostly play portables at the moment...)

I voted for Lords of the Realm, because I figured there's no way it could win. I'm still holding out hope that one of the sales will be for Populous: The Beginning.

Stephanie Kindermann rules the fucking world, man!

Doesn't mean I like how they put valium in the drinks of most other German voice actors in the game.

Day 10's winner was Stronghold: Crusader. Since I know nothing of it, I have no comment!

Day 11's between The Whispered World and Trine. GUESS WHICH YOU SHOULD WANT.

    I already have Trine.

So Telltale finally decided to jump on GOG, but i nearly own all of the Telltale games on this site and can i at least get DRM-Free versions of the games i have bought from this site or do i have do rely or "another" method to keep my games DRM-Free?
  • edited June 2012
If you already own the games direct from Telltale, you'll have to buy them again through GOG to get these DRM-free ones. Otherwise no-one'd make any money and there'd be no point in doing it.

...and the soundtracks to the Sam & Max games!
  • edited June 2012
Well, for now. I mean, there's nothing stopping either company from working out a deal to hand out backup copies to legitimate purchasers.

That'd be cool, if more companies than just CD Projekt Red let you redeem your key through GOG for a backup copy. It'd probably just a pipe dream, but it'd still be cool.
  • edited June 2012
Well, I bought a second copy of the Blackwell series on GOG, just for the soundtracks. So yeah.

I grabbed TLJ yesterday evening and I am loving it.

Day 12 : Winner The Whispered World
Day 13 : Two Worlds vs The Witcher EE
  • VainamoinenVainamoinen Moderator

I'd love to play the Whispered World again. But I paid full price back then for a retail version that was ridiculously bugged, had TWO ridiculously bugged copy protections and crashed with a frequency previously unknown to man. Patches were had, none of them repaired anything. I think Daedalic still owes me a functioning game. No way am I going to buy this AGAIN, giving them even more money for not patching their game.

No no no, that's boring! If you're gonna do this, do it with style! With flair! With italics!

    :p

More seriously, I find it immensely helpful to add a link each time I post the day's battle. Means I don't have to keep searching through the thread for one.

I already own both Two Worlds and The Witcher. Don't know which one to pick! Thoughts?
  • edited June 2012
Two Worlds is winning, despite the fact it sucks. But I guess that's what happens when GOG just gave away The Witcher for free on their service twice.

I would consider getting the GOG versions of TTG games if each season had a way to play consecutive episodes without needing to exit to desktop.

This will NEVER happen. Stop requesting it.

Personally I'd buy it if they included high-res versions of the cover art used for the posters.

The two Sam and Max seasons, though really I just meant Season Two specifically. Are you trying to tell me you've run some of your poster magic on that art?

    Why?

I haven't mentioned this in a long time, and it's a perfectly reasonable (and probably easy to implement) feature. It's not my fault if TTG can't be bothered with it.

Oh, and while I'm bothering you with asking for features that won't happen, I might as well say that I wish GOG's TOMI had the Earl Boen version of Narwhal.

Nah, I thought you were talking about "The Whispered World"... and in the case of S&M I have no idea what posters you mean. There were posters? I know that the retail release of S1 had a poster of the Highway Surfing print, but other than that...

Telltale used to sell prints of the Steve Purcell cover art for Sam and Max seasons 1 and 2. Like so:

I own the Season One print, but missed out on the second season's.
  • edited July 2012
Oh you mean the prints... of course I know about them (and own them). But a poster isn't the same as an art print, so I was confused.

I really wanted the poster to Season 1... and missed it... there also was an art print of it?!?
  • edited July 2012
There was an art print of Purcell's DVD artwork... you have been to my place before ;)

    pr2f.jpg

And there was this poster that also came with the German retail box (which was also sold as a print - sans text - by Telltale):

    sam-s1-poster.jpg

There was also an announcement poster for the first season:

    erb_snmposter.jpg

    The season 2 print:

    pr1h.jpg

The western and office prints were sold before Telltale made season 1 though.

    Season 3 print:

As a matter of fact, no, never! Missed my chance last August it seems.

The German retail box poster is right in front of me. That was how I started out, as my internet connection at the time would have never been able to download an entire episode. ;)

    Only a bit.

But I remember you actually have NOT been to my place - last year you had to catch your train, so you couldn't come to my place with Mark (Darin), Majus and Mermaid.

Also, a mod shouldn't derail a thread this much ;)
